I saw Superbad in the opening showing at midnight last night with a friend. There is really only one way to describe it. It is this generation's Dazed and Confused. It was pretty raunchy as expected, but hilarous.

I really want to see that movie. Thanks for he heads up. smile.gif

Anyone else being forced into watching High School Musical 2 tonight?

I've been dying to see that film ever since I watched the commercial & at times like this, I wish my surname was McLovin laugh.gif. I just know that my 12 year old brother will beg me to take him as there's no other way he can watch it otherwise. Is it similar to 40 Year Old Virgin or is it different?

All of the songs sound ridiculously digitized this time. And the cinematography looks weird- it almost makes the movie look fake (more like a "tv" movie) You know what I'm talking about?

Um I actually really liked HSM 2, thank you very much. Maybe it was partly because I watched it with all of my friends (which lets face it, can make any movie fantastic). But I honestly thought it was even better than the first!

Maybe I should be putting this in the Confessions thread...wait, no! I am a proud HSM fan and I'm not afraid to show it! Actually, I'm a proud fan of the shirtless Zac Efron wub.gif

Watching a movie with friends does make it a lot better- that's happened to me before laugh.gif

I think the thing I didn't like the most about the movie was the songs. They were really re-mixed and "overproduced." I just thought they sounded really fake (except for a few) I did like the dancing though- that part was good

Really? I loved the songs! I thought they were even more catchy than the ones in the 1st movie. I can see where you thought they were overproduced. A lot of their voices sounded a bit digitized (like Sharpays). Agree with you on the dancing though. I could learn the other dances from the original pretty easy but I dont even know if I'll attempt to try for this one.

You have to admit though, it would be extremely fun to be an extra on that movie!

If you thought that 40 Year Old Virgin was raunchy you haven't seen anything. Superbad is an awesome movie but if I had a 12 year old son I wouldn't let them see it. Although I'm an old timer (18) and probably would have wanted to see it at 12 so I can't blame the kid.

I laughed more at Superbad than I did at 40 Year Old Virgin mainly because I knew people in my life that matched up PERFECTLY with some of the characters in the movie. It was awesome, go see it.

Haha, I watched HSM2 as well. Oh dear.
Thier voices were so enhanced to me, digitized, yes. I was like, ew, that songs stupid. Also, the necklace thing, I couldn't stop laughing, haha. Is he that full of himself? haha.
You know, I didn't really mind watching it. It was fun to make fun of.

Not only that, he never saw the first one, but he read about it in the paper and in TVGuide, and he's been looking forward to it all week. rolling.gif rolling.gif rolling.gif I didn't get to ask him if he liked it because I was napping.

I totally second SB. It was lovely. I knew a LITTLE about Jane Austen's life but not a story such as this. It was fantastic, I was very impressed with Anne Hathaway. I saw it with my sister who is a passing P and P fan (not a diehard like me) and she loved it as well.

The last scenes: breathtaking. I won't spoil ya but it choked me up. Enjoy!

Now that is a question I would like to get the answer to! I haven't watched LOTR in awhile. Who has four hours for just 1/3 of a movie anymore? Good thing these came out before I had kids or I would not have ever seen them!

So, here is a movie that I am literally dying to see. The music is just amazing, the colors, the cameos of music marvels, the time-period, the scenes that look drug-induced, and the use of 'Hey Jude'. In my opinion, it is one of the best trailers ever.

I think I'm ruined for this movie. It was a trailer attached to License to Wed, which I saw 7 times. It was also a special "first look" preview feature for just about every movie I saw this summer, (I went to about 25 movies this summer). I feel like I've seen it already with all the trailers and previews! I read somewhere it only has 33 minutes of dialogue. That weirds me out a little bit.

I'm currently trying to talk my wife into watching it. It's funny, she never seems to like British comedy until she sits down to watch it, then she loves it.

It took me forever to get her to watch the British Office, but once she did she was hooked.

I rented Vacancy this weekend I would give it a B- grade. The suspense was adequate, but the couple's interactions were more entertaining.

I saw the Simpsons movie on Sunday and it was good. I saw it with my son and there were some cringeworthy moments I could have done without.

33 minutes of dialouge would be amazing. think about it. its filled with music and beautiful images...I watch the trailer quite often, just beacuse i love the music and idea. It's definitely going to be something you have never seen before, I like that about movies.
