Transformers is a great movie.
Everyone tells me it's a great movie, and I'm sure it is.
I just have a huge problem with cars turning into robots. I realize that Transformers was a wildly popular show/toys/movie, so it is just me. It just seems like the dumbest thing ever to me - cars turning into robots.

Maybe not but I was a small kid when the cartoons were on TV so I loved it. So now I watch it because I loved it as a kid.

I've met the real life Garth twice. He's Dana Carvey's brother Brad. Dana credits him for being the inspiration for Garth. He doesn't look anything like Garth and he's rocket-scientist smart (like Mixed).
He actually won an Emmy before his brother did (a technical achievement Emmy for his work on the Video Toaster).

I was one of the people that got in on the
'all of our movies for 25 cents' sale at Troma years ago. They posted the sale on thier site and everyone thought it was a joke. I placed the order, got charged 25 cents and a giant box of movies showed up the next week.

Are you a fan of Clive Barker? Watching the
Hellraiser flicks (1-4, the later sequels are pure trash IMO) during October is a must for me. I've been meaning to get
Lord of Illusions and
Nightbreed on DVD. My DVD wish list is huge right now, however, so I'll have to wait.

The only Troma film I've seen in the past few years is
Lollilove. I remember seeing
The Toxic Avenger years back, but It's very fuzzy.
EDIT: Liz - I watched Nightmare today. That scene with Tina and Freddy in the alley still creeps the crud out of me.

Gareth- your right, there is something that still gives you chills when you watch Nightmare. For me it's always when he tries to come out of the wall above the bed. One of the best horror lines ever written is in there as well...."this is God" and he shows off the finger knives. To me thats a classic.

Wow. You guys are seriously brave. I cannot watch any horror films. The one that turned me off them for good was Scream. I remember watching it in the basement with the lights off, alone. The blood & guts made me sick for the longest time. I've given up on films that mess with my mind. Give me a comedy, drama or foreign film anyday please!
Speaking of which, I've been watching *tons* of foreign French films lately but oddly enough, I cannot remember the titles. What I do remember is that I regret not watching them earlier. They make me feel so European & cultured

I saw the movie Dead Alive for the first time in a very long time the other day. For those you who don't know it is a bizarre british comedy based on horror movies. It was made in the early 80's and has a cult following. It is hilarious. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants a laugh.
The ending is so bizarre/disgusting/hilarious I can't even describe it. It was a lot like Planet Terror from Grindhouse only much less crude and gory due to the era it was made in.

^^ now that is a excellent movie!
I used to be really freaked out by all horror movies PIP an one year my brother showed me a movie that changed it all. I won't say what, but after that nothing really scares me like that. Scary movies are still fun to watch for the suspense but as far as being too scared to watch, he ruined it for me.

I saw American Gangster tonight with a couple of friends...
WOW!!!
Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe turn in fantastic performances. Denzel was a perfect blend of "man I hate that guy" and "that guy is a awesome". Russell Crowe plays an excellent embattled character.
Not to mention that the dialougue was perfect, and so was the direction and action. It falls just short of The Departed, but still amazing.
