Just watched Psycho. I liked it a lot! When Norman Bates smiles at the end, I smiled too! Is that supposed to happen?
Which version did you watch? The original or the remake?

Glad to hear there's another crier. I was crying the hardest right as the credits started rolling, and I was with four friends, all of whom thought it was the funniest thing that I was crying and mocked me to no end...
I'm dying to see it again!

I watched Mr. Brooks. If you haven't seen it, it's great. Kevin Costner was actually decent. The story was a lot more interesting than I thought. A few scenes here and there are like, yeah okay whatever but this one got my attention. A great rent actually

I finally saw Spiderman 3 last night.
I didn't like it. I think my whole problem is with the cast. Tobey McGwire seems really smarmy to me and I don't find MJ (or Kirsten Dunst) likeable or appealing at all.
I wish we would have watched Ratatoullie instead, but my kids picked Spiderman.

I'm going to start recommending a good indie film once a week. No, no one asked me to

And it's not that I'm any kind of film buff, but I do have a decent amount of good independent films.
Today's pick is
SCOTLAND, PAIt's a dark comedic take on the classic MacBeth story, set in a burger joint in 1970's Pennsylvania. It's not a silly comedy and definetly has a dark edge to it.
Highly entertaining.
Named actors in it include Christopher Walken and Maura Tierney.

I watched Singing in the Rain tonight. It had been awhile since I'd seen it (a year or so) That's the first musical I ever watched- I think I was about 5 or 6- thanks to my papa's huge VHS collection of old movies he had.
I'm also dying to buy the complete collection of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies. It's pretty expensive though ($87!) But I guess for 10 movies that's not a bad price.

I finally got around to watching Dan In Real Life & wow, that was the best film I've watched in a very long time in the theaters! Steve Carrell just blew me away. Watching him play someone who isn't a total imbecile was just fabulous. He blew me away. I can recall crying on two occasions, & both were very close towards the end. I'm so glad I had the opportunity of watching this film. Never has 95 minutes gone by so quickly. With the exception of Dane Cook, I thought the cast was phenomenal, especially Steve & Juliette. His youngest daughter was adorable. And OMG, the scene where they went bowling is pure love

. I hope everyone gets to watch this gem before it's released on DVD. Sure, it may win no Oscars but it's a film that every Office & non-Office fan should get to experience

. I think I may watch it again real soon.

I need to see 'I Am Legend'. I love 'The Omega Man'. Charleton Heston was amazing in it.
I have the split DVD with 'The Last Man of Earth' which I think is the first run of this story (with Vincent Price). The movie is great, but the print sucks. But there is a new DVD release coming in a few weeks, so I'm hoping that will be a good print.

Obscure movie of the day -
"Fear of a Black Hat"
I love "Spinal Tap" and I put this movie right up there with it. This film is basically a rap "Spinal Tap" as it's done in roughly the same manner. The film is silly, funny, irreverant and pokes fun at the rap culture in much the same way Tap poked fun at the metal world.
Chris Rock's "CB4" is usually cited as the definitive rap mockumentary, but I liked 'Fear of a Black Hat' MUCH better.

I just watched "Shaun of the Dead". I had heard it was good when it came out, but oh my god, it was fantastic.
I was a little iffy about watching a zombie movie, but it wasn't scary at all, and it was hilarious. It was a little gory, but not too bad. And sad. Not to mention that it was artistically brilliant as well.
The Office UK connection: I was excited to see Dawn in the movie, and I jumped off my couch when Tim showed up! How exciting.
I also have Hot Fuzz. Going to watch that tomorrow!
