I watched Multiplicity on a friends reccomendation. It was really good.

Once you got past the fact that most of the stuff in the movie was farfetched it was very enjoyable.

Aye...

The fourth clone was hilarious.

I didn't really like The Prestige because the two main characters weren't likable.

I think the movie did a really good job of confusing the viewer as to which person to care about, but it got to the point where I just didn't care at the end. They were both jackasses and neither of them deserved anything good- you couldn't route for either of them.

I like The Illusionist better. But, yeah, they are both movies about magicians. But The Illusionist is a love story. The Prestige is a story about revenge.
Fancy_New_Becca
I may have to rent that then BTB

I'm not a hugh jackman fan I don't know if I can sit through that movie. it took a lot to sit through Scoop

I agree. I didn't really enjoy this movie, because I'm such a fan of the two main characters and neither one of them was likeable. Their looks helped a little, but I didn't enjoy the plot.

I loved The Prestige... love the way Nolan structures his movies. Keeps me thinking about 'em hours after viewing.

I can't argue with Jackman's character being unlikable, but I quite liked Bale's. After watching a few times I noticed the brother who died was the one behind Borden's unpleasantness. He provoked the rivalry, drove his wife to suicide, and in the end died because he wasn't able to let his beef with Angier die.

I was to opposite. I hated Bale's character, while felt somewhat like for Jackman's....until I hated everybody.

Nolan gave me Memento, one of the best movies ever (oh, I love it so much). Since then, I haven't been the biggest fan.

What are the odds? This is the first time I've opened this thread in, like, three months, and I found your post.

I hope you enjoyed that. I barely did. laugh.gif Some movies are only watchable because they're so painfully bad.

I kind of noticed that, but linked it anyway. Didn't they run two movies and cut them down to about 45 minutes a piece? I need to start watching those.

I think you'll appreciate the humor in this Diapers laugh.gif

I'm watching the trailer for the new horror film 'Cloverfield'. The film looks pretty decent, but I was really drawn in by the music. It was the strangest choice for film music, but it really worked well. It gave everything an unnerving claustrophic feel.

The trailer ends and I close down the trailer window. But the music was still playing! I had a window open to a synthesizer website and their demo had been playing in the background of 'Cloverfield' laugh.gif

I absolutely adore that film. It's my favourite Christmas ever & it always gets me in the holiday mood. It has such a great message with such a fantastic cast & great characters. George Bailey is one of the greatest fictional characters ever. And yes, I'm not afraid to admit that the film gets the water works moving, especially in the beginning & end.

I need to watch Love, Actually & that Christmas film with the BB gun (forgot the title of the film) very soon.
Fancy_New_Becca
my last dvd from amazon came! My aunt brought over our mail. Yippeee bad horror flick for me later tonight.

one of my fav's, it's a tribute to those bad movies of the 50's and 60's.b movie tribute

Has anyone else here seen The Cheap Detective?

It's a spoof of the early dective & mystery films & a very funny one at that laugh.gif. They mainly focus on Casablanca & The Maltese Falcon. One of my favourite lines has to be:

Lou Peckinpaugh: [answering phone] Yeah?
Mrs. Montenegro: Mr. Peckinpaugh, I think I have some information regarding the untimely death of your late, deceased, murdered partner.
Lou Peckinpaugh: Who is this?
Mrs. Montenegro: As the Chinese say, never mind. We must be careful; I'm being watched. Can we meet in your office in fifteen minutes?
Lou Peckinpaugh: All right. What time is it now?
Mrs. Montenegro: I'd rather not tell you that until I know I can trust you.

&

Lou Peckinpaugh: Are you sure the police didn't follow you here?
Georgia Merkle: I'm positive. They came with me.
[the door opens and the police come in]
Lou Peckinpaugh: This is definitely our last date, Georgia.
Lieutenant DiMaggio: Mind answering a few questions downtown, Lou?
Lou Peckinpaugh: We *are* downtown.
Lieutenant DiMaggio: [thinks a moment] Then this will be fine.

rolling.gif So many funny lines & scenes that make you go wtf & laugh so hard at the same time rolling.gif. I dunno if it's on DVD as I watched it on channel 38 yesterday. It's good for those who liked classic film noir fans, such as myself.

I've found another b-movie that needs to go on MST3K, it's called, Trail of the Screaming Foreheads. The title alone is enough to make me rent it

Is anyone else watching Muppets Christmas Carol this christmas season because I've pretty much made it mandatory.

I always hated the Chipmunk voices and from the previews it sounded like they had amplified the already annoying voices. I would go crazy watching that movie.

I saw I Am Legend today. Very good movie, it gets my reccomendation. It had one of my major pet peeves though. I won't say what it is because it would ruin part of the movie for you but after you see it you can ask me what the pet peeve is. Despite that fact, very good.

I'd say 7.8 out of 10.

I can't believe Justin Long is the voice of alvin. My crush on him is no up in the air.

I don't think I've ever see him play anyone but Jay! I heard he was very upset that Kevin Smith did not cast him in Jersey Girl--but apparently he was too messed up at the time for Smith to even consider it.

Two Jersey Girl posts in one day. That's the most anyone's talked about that movie since it came out. (It is a pretty decent movie actually)

I've seen Jason Mewes in other movies, but he's always playing a dealer or a stoner or both. So, yeah, your assesment is correct. I think I read that Clerks 2 was sort of his reward for getting cleaned up.
Fancy_New_Becca
^^ read, kevin smith said he had to be clean or something and it was the first movie they did together while he was sober. He did a great job I thought. That tribute dance to wild horses puts me in stitches every time I watch it. I have a crush on Jeff Anderson as well now.

Yeah, it really wasn't that bad. I don't know why it got roasted. I do know that one reviewer said, and I agree, that it would have been a better movie of the Jennifer Lopez and Liv Tyler roles were switched. I didn't really see the chemistry between Ben & Liv, but I did see it between JLo & Ben (obviously).
Fancy_New_Becca
I haven't seen jersey girl. I may rent it if you all say it's not that bad. I didn't ben and liv in armageddon either. Both were kinda robotic I thought

Liz, I think you'd like Jersey Girl--you shoudl rent it. Be warned, it's got some weepy parts, to it.

Then again, I also almost cried at the end of the chipmunk movie--just for a brief second, but still.
Fancy_New_Becca
hey don't think twice about crying at silly movies I'm a huge cryer. I can cry at commericals. Im going to try to get to the video store on tuesday or I might go thursday so I have movies over christmas and I will pick it up.

Oh oh guess what I watched...Flash Gordon! Thats so bad it's good. I love Queen to death but why did they do the music for that horrible movie?
