We're watching
Coming To America.I love this movie--especially at the end when the king shows up at the apartment and Arsenio sees him and screams.
Oh, and all those scenes on Queens Blvd? That is the real Queens Blvd--I'm there like three times a week, but all of those buildings are gone now. The McDowell's is actually a Wendy's now.

I'd really like to see this movie, but it'll probably end up on our netflix list too... we're too poor and boring to go out to the movies

I watched Enchanted with MIL and SIL's on Sunday night... what a cute movie! Amy Adams did an amazing job... she was cute, funny, innocent, naive, ditzy, etc..... a perfect Disney princess!

I definitely recommend this movie

*Edit - It comes out March 28th

Oh my gosh

I saw all the trailers and a few clips of Run Fatboy Run today and watched them 3 times! I loved it! I hope this backwater towns theater shows this or I'll have to look elsewhere

Nothing Sacred (1937) last night. Hilarious movie- Carole Lombard did comedy so well

What makes it even more unique is that it was filmed in color instead of black and white. This is really odd for a screwball comedy in the 30's. I actually think it added a lot to the movie in a way. The only unfortunate thing is all of the copies of this movie on DVD are not good transfers (since they are all public domain copies) The copy I had was a bit blurry at the beginning of the movie

An Unmarried Woman. Wow, that Jill Clayburgh has a mouth on her - I never knew. Her SFB husband dumps her for a younger woman, then it turns into Sex and the City circa 1978. Bad fashions and not nearly as witty, but I'm sure it was innovative for it's time.

The Darjeeling Limited: I definitely recommend it to anyone that is a fan of
a). Wes Anderson
b.). Adrian Brody
c). Owen Wilson
d). Jason Schwartzman
e). The Kinks
f). India
g). Comedy
The kind of movie that you apprieciate for a long time after. I want to watch it again, just to laugh and view everything I may have missed. The three actors are brilliant together and without them specifically this movie would have probably sucked. The Indian scenery was breathtaking and the bright colors are so...bright. Watch it!
Once: This movie may just be one of the best I've seen. The music is what drew me in and kept me in. Glen Hansard (Guy) has one of the most passionate and beautiful voices I have ever heard and to be accompanied by the talented Marketa Irglova (Girl) is a stellar idea. This movie shows the brilliance of movies that don't need all the Hollywood effects to turn out amazing. It didn't need any special effects, well-known actors, high-tech setting, etc. The simple chemistry in this film is enough to attract every human being. The music is brilliant and you'll definitely want to buy the soundtrack after watching it. So, watch it!

I watched an early Frank Capra movie last night:
Platinum Blonde (1931). It doesn't compare with his later movies but it was still cute. A young Jean Harlow was one of the leads and a very young Loretta Young (she was only 18 in this movie!) The saddest thing is the lead man in the movie Robert Williams died 3 days after the movie was released. He was really good in the movie and basically held it together. He probably would have been a big star after this movie had he not passed away. But like I said it was a good movie (the ending is so cute

I agree. I found it to be one those films that slowly explored the plot & when the end came, they threw everything at you. For me, it's one of those films that I have to watch twice to understand. And yeah, I really liked the dog too, especially since I have a german shephard myself

.
Just rented it. I wasn't all that impressed, either. At 101 minutes it didn't explore the plot
that slowly, but it did sorta cram in a lot at the end.

^^^ I was bored out of my mind with I Am Legend. It was one of those movies that had a lot of potential, but the story went nowhere.
- - - - -
I saw Run, Fatboy, Run this morning. I loved it! However, it is a British comedy to the core. The laughs range from subtlety to outright crass references. If you're a fan of BBC comedies, you'll probably love it. I'm a big fan of Simon Pegg and Dylan Moran, both of whom played large roles in this movie. They are just hilarious! However, I will say, Simon Pegg's previous movies were better (Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead). This latest effort is a slightly different genre and it was fun to see him do something a little different. Run, Fatboy, Run is a "slice of life" kind of story with jokes sprinkled throughout.

Well, Run, Fatboy, Run was written by Pegg and a different person than he wrote Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead with. Also, the director was David Schimmer, so it wasn't completely British. That's probably adds to the difference.

Yeah, I noticed the difference in the writing and the influence of an American at the director's helm. Which is probably why I liked Fuzz and Shaun better than Run, Fatboy, Run. I love American movies and comedy, but British comedy will always be my favorite. Either way, I liked seeing Pegg do something a little different.

A few nights ago I watched
Paris, Je T'aime. It is a foreign film with the majority of it being in French but regardless, I loved it

. However, unlike many other films there is no concrete plot. Instead, the film focuses on all these five minute or so segments of different kinds of love that's happening around Paris. Some warm the heart, & some break the heart. I was amazed at the diversity of the directors & cast. I was surprised to see Elijah Wood & I was slightly shocked to see Wes Craven as one of the directors. I believe Wes directed Elijah's segment which was definitely different from the rest of them. The famous & Oscar winning Coen brothers contributed as well. Esentially, the film is about the different kinds of love that people deal with on a daily basis. I was pleased to watch a film that didn't use a fairytale & sterotypical outcome for all the stories. And for some reason, I thought Audrey Tautou was in the film but she wasn't

.
And for those who aren't fans of foreign films, there are subtitles

. It's nice to watch a different film with a different aspect of culture so I definitely recommend it

.

Poor sammy. I swear you have to stay away from the blockbusters anymore they are junk. Well the remakes anyways. I loved that line too by the way. Still say the dog was the best thing in it.
David schwimmer directing a a brit com. It can keep me away fro the theaters.
I finished it last night..I couldn't sleep. I wacthed the horrible B movie, Frankensteins daugther meets jesse james. OMG was it bad. There are no words. I'm going to try to watch, the monster maker tonight.
My friend finally saw lust caution. And like I thought, she loved the story but the sex scenes were for her as she put it, too grahpic and didn't help the story any. I told her not to rent it cause she wouldn't enjoy the movie for that alone. The ending I thought was flat anyways, buy Ang Lee makes a beautiful movie.
