It's been a Rambo day again

It's going to be a hostel night. It's all about being scared.

I went to see Leatherheads after my public speaking class this afternoon. It gets off to a slow start but I really liked it. I'm happy to see movies like this and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day coming out of Hollywood for a change- since they are fun, uplifting movies. And don't pay any attention to the so called rating the movie has on IMDB right now

Sure I may have liked it more than others just because I watch so many old movies but the movie should not have that low of a score. It's much better than that.
Either way- I'll probably go back and see it at the theater again

I really want to see Leatherheads, but don't think my friends will want to. They aren't office fans and not really into John Krasinski (hard to understand, I know).
Just watched Love Actually tonight, I know it is 4 years old, but I still love it. Possibly my favourite film of all time. I don't watch it that often, maybe twice a year, but it always makes me cry, usually at a different scene each time.
Was it big in America at the time? It was huge in Britain.

It was fairly popular. There are a lot of fans of it here on the boards, especially the bits with Colin Firth.

Finally watched Across the Universe.......I liked it some at the beginning, liked it alot in the middle and fell in love at the end. What a great movie/musical/whatever they call it. I bought the soundtrack on iTunes a few minutes ago

I'm not a big Evan Rachael Wood fan at all but she was ok but my favorite besides Jim Sturgess playing Jude were the characters Max and Sadie. Sadie sang beautifully with such passion.
I'm going to watch again tomorrow.

Wasn't it fantastic?! Yeah, the soundtrack is SO worth it! Aw, Max is a favorite of mine too, he did so well-I love his voice. Sadie is amazing, its like a movie in itself watching her sing. Jojo isn't too bad either. You'll want to watch it over and over again, its definitely that kind of movie. I'm so glad you like it!

I watched Leatherheads today & I absolutely loved it

. To me it started off slow & I was worried that it would suck because of that but I was wrong, as it was such an enjoyable film. As a fan of classic films it was nice to see a modern film with some classic elements to it. I think that if Leatherheads was made back in the 30's, George Clooney's role would be played by Cary Grant, Renee's by Ginger Rogers or Katharine Hepburn & John's by Jimmy Stewart.
Normally Renee irrates me but I found her likeable in this film. While I love & adore John, he just can't compare with George Clooney. George is the man & he's absolutely dreamy

. Everytime he smiled I felt like squealing like a school girl. His charm just oozes & I just cannot get enough of him. I must say that John was able to hold his own against the legend. Everytime I saw John on screen I thought of the Office & when it's returning

. I loved the style of humour used. It's nice to see a comedy that doesn't rely on sexual & bodily fluid jokes. It was more of quick fit & fast dialogue, kinda like His Girl Friday.
George did a great job paying homage to the screwball films. He was a delight as the director & the male lead. I think this film could've worked back in the 20's.
I can't wait to see it again. It's nice seeing a film that has my two favourite actors. At the end my friend & I were arguing who was cuter, as she's more of a John fan while I prefer my George

.

I saw a trailer for
Mamma Mia while watching Leatherheads today. For those who haven't heard of MM, I believe it's a famous broadway play that uses ABBA song for plot & scene purposes throughout it. While the synopsis of the film doesn't excite me, I'm dying to see it because the the whole thing was filmed in Greece without the exception of some scenes in the UK. I got so excited when I saw shots of my homeland to the point where I almost yelled "OMG GREECE!!!" in the theatres

. I could sit through the cr@ppiest film if it was filmed in Greece. I don't care

.
I also saw a trailer for
Baby Mama & I'm super excited about that too. Anything with Tina Fey & Amy Poehler is bound to be a riot. Remember Mean Girls

I dragged my roommate to see it yesterday and we both loved it. She felt obligated (she doesn't generally like George or Renee but knew I wanted to see it because of John Krasinski) and she ended up thanking me for making her go because she enjoyed it so much more than she ever expected. It does have it's hokey parts but that's part of what makes it so funny. I know I'll be dragging my parents and my brother to see it.

'21' was really good. I was really looking forward to it, and I wasn't disappointed. The story is definitely "hollywood-ized" but it made for a pretty good movie. Jim Sturgess was so good as the main character. I do have quite a crush on him, so I may be a little biased. Kevin Spacey was great too, as usual.
Can't wait to see Leatherheads. I was a little worried, because the initial reviews I read on Friday weren't very favorable. I should probably know by now not to pay much attention to what critics think.

So last weekend I was so excited when Across the Universe was finally at a Redbox after I had to wait for what seemed like forever. So, I rented it and I was very disappointed! I really wanted it to be a good movie, but it seemed like the director was just a Baz Lurhman wanna-be. The use and choice of color felt off. The music didn't blend well with the scenes. The story was too much to follow and too far fetched, not to say long and drawn out. And last but not least, the covers of most of the songs were horrible! Don't waste your time or your redbox dollar on it.

My favourite scene in the entire film was when George was wearing that tank top & oh yeah, everytime George smiled too

^^^ Even though many newspapers panned Leatherheads, there seemed to be positive reviews to match every negative review. I think it's one of those movies you either like or hate.
I saw Leatherheads over the weekend and liked it quite a bit. John Krasinski did an amazing job! It's by far his best movie role to date, mainly because he relied more on conveying emotion with his face, rather than just comedy. Aside from The Office, it's his best acting performance up to this point. And of course, he looked absolutely fabulous!

I melted into a pile of putty everytime he flashed a smoldering look (it didn't help that I saw this movie on a HUGE screen). As for the rest of the movie, George Clooney rocked, as he always does. He was a perfect blend of funny and sweet. I didn't care for Renee Zellwegger, but then again, I've never really liked her. She seemed to try too hard to portray her character. It didn't seem natural at all. The movie was meant to pay homage to classic movies from the '20s and '30s. I think it accomplished this goal for the most part. It had the pacing of an old movie, along with the language and overall "feel." I felt like I was watching something off of AMC. The story itself wasn't anything groundbreaking, but it wasn't boring. It centers mostly around the development of professional football, which is a topic that interests me very little. However, I never lost interest. There was enough going on around the main story, to keep me interested. It could've been about 30 minutes shorter, but overall it was a nice little film that kept me entertained.
Did I mention John Krasisnski looked amazing?

This afternoon, I watched "King of California." I bought it on a hunch (sometimes you just get a good vibe when you pick up a movie). It's one of the most original and quirky movies I've ever seen. It's out in left field, but in a funky, warm hearted way. The humor is a witty mix of sarcasm and charm. The story is about a teenager and her mentally ill father. He comes to live with her after being released from a mental hospital. She has been living on her own since her mother left and he was committed. Her father is convinced that there is treasure buried under a Costco. The girl wants to believe in her father, so she helps him find the treasure. This is worth a watch if you're in the mood for something truly different. It'll make you think -- I promise.

Perfume -- not my type but I hope you enjoy it.

Just saw '21'. Increased my love for Jim Sturgess even more! I didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Kevin Spacey was good, very deceiving. The movie had some really clever twists, loved that about it. Definitely worth seeing, I think, even for the sheer brilliance of Jim Sturgess. Although, I do love his accent more than anything and that was hidden in the movie, he's still Jude to me.
