John's bit was like 2 minutes or less. And honestly, I wasn't impressed. It was like they took a scene from the office and photoshopped it into the movie. His delivery was the same as Jim's and he had the same expressions. I hope he isn't a one trick pony.

I had the same exact thought when I saw John in The Holiday. But, he was in Dreamgirls. Another 2 minute scene, and he wasn't like Jim there. But, it was only a two minute scene, so it didn't really show his acting talents. He had some scruff that looked really good, though.

I went to see Happily N'Ever After with my little sister today. It sucked. But wanna know the highlight? When the bad guys take over the kingdom they party in the thrown room. A bunch of trolls stand around and watch one troll do the Ricky Gervais dance from the British Office!!!!! I thought that was totally awesome!

UHM is my "other" board. Good stuff.
Halloween is in pre-production right now. Zombie has re-written the script, and done some casting (His wife Sherri will play Michael's mother and Malcolm McDowell will play Dr. Loomis. Also, Bill Forsythe, the best part of The Devils Rejects imo, has been cast.) The release date is August 31st, so expect production to begin in the coming months, with teaser pics hitting UHM shortly after.

This movie will rock my socks, I can already tell.
Fancy_New_Becca

NO pictures yet but I found this earlier about Halloween, some of this is re-hash but not sure what exactly you have read:

Rob Zombie has issued the following update on his
upcoming remake of the 1978 horror classic
"Halloween":

"A couple of our favorite 'rejects' have joined the
cast of 'Halloween'. Sheri Moon Zombie has joined the
cast of 'Halloween' as Deborah Myers, the mother of
Michael Myers and longtime employee of The Rabbit In
Red Lounge. Along with Sheri we have none other than
William Forsythe playing Ronnie White, Deborah's
abusive boyfriend. [Also] joining the cast of
'Halloween' are Danny Trejo as Ismael Cruz, a
sympathetic worker at Smith's Grove Sanitarium, Lew
Temple as Nole Kluggs, a co-worker of Ismael at
Smith's Grove. And last but not least, good old Ken
Foree as Big Joe Grizzley, a truck driver who
encounters Michael on his travels.

"I'll soon announce the remaining major roles of
Laurie, Annie, Lynda, Judith, Sheriff Brackett,
Kendall Jacks, Grant Clark, Principle Erics,
Councilman Edwards, Lindsey Wallace, Tommy Doyle,
Deputy Charles, Dr. Koplenson, Barbara Florentine and
Morgan Walker. If you are wondering none of these
remaining roles are played by anyone that was in 'The
Devil's Rejects'. So start guessing."

"Halloween" cast so far:

Dr. Loomis - played by Malcolm McDowell
Young Michael Myers - played by Daeg Faerch
Adult Michael Myers - played by Tyler Mane
Deborah Myers - played by Sheri Moon Zombie
Mason Strode - played by Pat Skipper
Cynthia Strode - played by Dee Wallace Stone
Ronnie White - played by William Forsythe
Big Joe - played by Ken Foree
Nole Kluggs - played by Lew Temple
Ismael Cruz - played by Danny Trejo

As previously reported, Zombie has started making a
documentary on the production of "Halloween". Zombie
wrote in an recent online posting, "Many of you have
been asking if I plan on making a 'making of
Halloween' documentary similar to the '30 Days In
****' one on 'The Devil's Rejects' DVD. Well, the
answer is yes. We started shooting on the first day of
pre-production and we will continue up until we are
finished."

Zombie also wrote that he's seen the finished mask
that will be worn by "Halloween"' s killer, Michael
Myers, and commented, "All I can say is 'HOLY F***.'It
looks perfect. Exactly like the original. Not since
1978 has (Myers) looked so good."

"Halloween" is due in theatres on August 31, 2007.
Filming begins later this month. The movie is Zombie's
third feature film as a director after 2003's "House
of 1000 Corpses" and 2005's "The Devil's Rejects".

As reported earlier in the week, Zombie announced that
he is working on a boxed set for his previous band,
WHITE ZOMBIE. A solo live album is also scheduled for
release sometime early this year.
Fancy_New_Becca

5. The Notebook
6. Office Space
7. Moulin Rouge
8. Steel Magnolias

13. 16 Candles
14. Beaches
15. Mean Girls
16. Napolean Dynamite
17. Walk the Line
18. Fear
19. Titanic
20. The Shining

There are so many more, that I can't even think of right now....
Recently I saw The Departed and it was such a great movie. Terrific acting, with tons of well known actors, I mean come on Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nickleson, Mark Walberg! It was full of suspense and surprises and great directing by Martin Scoresei(not sure how to spell that).
I also saw The Pursuit of Happyness, which is also a wonderful movie. I love Will Smith and he did an excellent job. This movie just makes you feel good and helps you to realize that you can pursue anything you want in life!

Netflix is very nice. I used to have it, but I don't have enough time to watch all those movies.

Last Sunday, I bought Anchor Man, 40 Year Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Descent. I know, it's a Steve Carrel fest (he's not in the descent, though)

I thought Thank You for Smoking was a great movie! It was hilarious, and nice to see a movie with a different perspective on smoking.

The Zodiac Shack isn't too far from where my family lives. A couple of years ago, after reading the book, my brother thought it would be a fun idea to get my mom and sister to drive out there with him in the middle of the night. They were all screaming like little girls within a few minutes- it happened to be a windy night, and the door of the shack kept swinging open and shut, and was making everything creak. I got to hear the stories a few days later, which by that time had been embelished considerably.

Greetings all....i like to talk about movies; seems to be one of the few topics people can talk about, disagree and afterwards still be civil biggrin.gif ......

Didnt read all the pages but i was a lil shocked to see V for Vandetta on 1 list...In the last year or two this is one of the top 3 movies ive seen.....I think Hugo Weaving should have won an award for his role and the writers should have been nominated for one as well. Favorite line ..Eve "Are you like a crazy person"..instant classic. Here are some of my other favs

The Prince of Egypt(cartoon)
Finding Forrester(Rob Browns debut)
Good Will Hunting
Usual Suspects
Akeelah and The Bee
The Matrix Trilogy
Star Wars, Empire Stikes Back, Return of the Jedi
Suspect Zero
Kill Bill(both volumes, he should have made 3 like he originally planned)
White Men Cant Jump
Suicide Kings(pretty good movie, worth it for the one laugh out loud funny scene anyway)
The Sixth Sense
Menace II Society(classic)
Love & Basketball
John Q

there are more but most have been listed already....I agree with what was said ealier of the Nightmare on Elm Street alley scence with FK, very scary stuff... Evil Dead was pretty scary, but somehing that scaried me silly as a child was the subway scene from the wiz; those lil string puppets growing big coupled with the trash cans coming alive was a bit much for my young mind.....LOL

Total disappointments
Unbreakable(waited so long for the movie to take of and when it did the credits started rolling mad.gif )
Friday Night Lights
Snake Eyes

Saw Gone With The Wind in the past year, didnt see why it gets so much love; Rhet should have learned his lesson sooner, movie was much too long!
Saw Casablanca too, now thats a good movie!!!1

I watched The Last Kiss last night. With Zach Braff and Rachel Bilson.

I liked it, my co-worker didn't. Anyone else see it? Its not a fluffy movie, like she thought it was going to be...but a movie about flaws in relationships and what I thought were real reactions to it. Not the right reactions, but real ones.

Gareth knows that this will always get a response from me.

That was the point! I love this movie because it didn't turn into the action movie that it's imaginary sequel was. Instead of being a superhero movie that tries to squeeze in an origin and a big fight (and fails at both), like Fantastic four, this is pure origin. I understand why people got bored, but I find every scene in this movie interesting, even when it seems like nothing is happening.

I didnt mind The Village. I thought it was a great concept, but fell short in many ways. Not sure if it was the script, or what--couldve been alot better. Saw Lady in the Water over the summer and enjoyed it moreso than The Village. M. Knight started off really strong but is kind of getting lazy and she rethink his movie making strategies.

Try watching Ulee's Gold. Now that's an intolerably boring movie. I found that in my brother's movie collection, and made the error of asking to borrow it. I tried watching it three times, and each time I fell asleep within the first fifteen minutes. He still claims that it's an exciting watch, but tells me that the Royal Tenenbaums (sp?) is excrutiating. I suppose we'll just have to agree to disagree.

Greetings all....

you make a good point diapers; didnt consider that with respect to Unbreakable. I admit that with many movies i implictly expect certain things given the genre of the movie; for a while i had the idea that i wouldnt like any of Tyler Perrys productions; but went to see Madeas Family Reunion with my mom and actually enjoyed the movie alot, but before this i had seen Woman thou art Loosed on my own; thought it was a good movie...a lot of substance. But with regards to unbreakable perhaps the expectations prevailed cuase the best thing about the movie i recall is Samuel Js character going straight terroist in his pursuits to find his counterpart. M Knight shamaylan broke out as a great storyteller with 6th sense so i expected the same with Un.. I really enjoyed the alien movie with M Gibson, seems like every other movie he makes i enjoy. I thought the village was good until....until the hoax is revealed!!!!! peace

I thought the same thing when I watched Sixth Sense. Everyone kept talking about this huge plot twist and I was really excited to see it...
I thought it was completely obvious throughout the movie that he was dead. I never considered him otherwise. I mean, come on people! The boy talks to dead people, and no one else in the entire course of the movie speaks to Bruce Willis! How could anyone not get that?
Anyhow, I got to the end of the movie where the big "twist" was "revealed" and I just sat there looking at the screen, thinking, What?! That was it?!

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a movie in my life.

My stance on The Village:

I knew the ending when I saw it, and I knew from others that it wasn't supposed to be that great, so I had low expectations. With that view, it wasn't really that bad of a movie. I'm sure I would have felt differently if I didn't know anything about it.

Expectations and how much information you have about a movie make a huge difference on how satisfied you are. That works with both good and bad movies.
iCiCritique2
If i recall correctly, there were only two instances when Willis' character is talking to someone other than the boy; when he first meets the boy and his mom is in the living room....the scene is so well crafted that it appears that the mom is aware of him and makes comments about him; then at the restaurant with his wife; and how can you blame anyone for thinking the wife is upset with him and ignoring him; perhaps you and a few others were just more savvy; but nothing prior to the ending makes the truth about this character obvious.....JMO peace

i really loved the Village. I enjoyed the fact it was built around the power of suggestion. You say it enough, you believe it and you live it. It's based in faith.
It's when that faith is revealed as just a lie that makes it the best twist. But she goes back and carries out the lie and life she had. People had been expecting another sixth sense I guess.

Pirates 3 better not stink. two was ok. alittle more depp less knightly.

It got a 43% on the tomatometer. That equals sucked.

Ebert gave it one star. Since I agree with him about 98% of the time, I know he gave it the correct rating.

It had a ton of potential, but fell flat in every area. And if that was really supposed to be a surprise ending... I had that one figured out ten minutes in.

And all of the people that voted on rottentomatoes.com and Ebert were expecting a film like Sixth Sense or Signs and that's why they didn't like it. If you view it from a neutral stand point and forget about the director and his reputation and past work, it IS a good film. And it wasn't about twists and surpises. It was about, as Scranton Temp Liz, said faith and also love and what love can motivate a person to do.
