Or is that the whole point, to drive us nuts? Curiousity killed the cat, right.
The sad thing is, I don't even know the topic I'm in anymore....lol...

Ha,ha,ha,ha, that was great. Thanks for the link. I never watch videos anymore cause I hate most of what's on, pop music and all. You're definitely right about it being even more frustrating, but definitely more dramatic. I loved it, and I love that you got the dots doing it. Made me lol for the first time all day.

This quote thing is NOT working for me today - it keeps screwing up and meshing everything I type... ANYWAY, I was trying to say that this was an older video played on 120 Minutes/Subterranean/early MTV2 when Viacom had programming standards for its music channels dry.gif . Now, if I catch a newer video, it's either online or via the Comcast On Demand music video offerings.

I do that too!! I'll be watching an ep I've seen, like, 20 times, & my hubby or one of my kids will come in & say, "didn't you see that one?" & I'll say, oh, I missed the ending ....No one understands my obsession like you guys! It's comforting to know that I'm not alone biggrin.gif !!

I'll have to use that one next time! wink.gif

It is comforting to know there are others out there sharing the love! I think that's why I prefer to watch the reruns on TV even though I have Seasons 1 & 3 on DVD and have taped many from 4 & 5. It's knowing that other people are out there enjoying the show too, that makes it feel so good! biggrin.gif

Wow, it is nice to know there are others out there that do the same thing. I'll just sit there and watch them over and over again. Even on the same day. You know how sometimes they'll show a few, then repeat them again later in the night. If I'm still up, I'm still watching. Pretty sad huh. I was in a bad accident and broke my back, well pretty close, so I can't work and can't stand or walk for more than 5 mins tops at a time, so it gives me alot of time on my hands. I just thought I'd add that in so you guys wouldn't think I was a lazy butt. I love working, and if I didn't have LOCI, I think I would go crazy.(or crazier than I already am) wacko.gif Though I must admit, I don't only watch for VDO. I just love the show. I love him too though. He's hot, and smart, and sexy, ok, I don't know where I'm going with this anymore. Oh yeah, it really is nice to know that others out there enjoy the show as much. That's also why I love this board. smile.gif

Oh, thankyou so very much. It's amazing how many sweet, smart, interesting, good people I've met on this board. I appreciate your well wishes. I do my best to keep my spirits up, though it is very difficult at times.
It certainly helps being able to watch a show I love so much (especially with VDO being in almost every scene wub.gif ), and talking on this board is so much fun as well.

Vurtgirl....I need to thank you for something....(with apologies for the OT)....

A few years ago, I suffered a setback which was devastating physically and financially. I was completely laid out for about six months. As my recovery progressed, I couldn't work or be productive in any way. One of the things which kept me from going completely mad were a couple of old prime-time reruns during the afternoon on USA or TNT or something. I won't divulge the titles. They were reasonably intelligent projects. One was even considered groundbreaking in it's day, but they seem pretty silly now. I kept up with my current night-time favorites like Law and Order and Criminal Intent, but they did not provide the respite like the afternoon shows. For a couple of hours every weekday afternoon I was able to escape my pain. I planned my day around the show-times. And when the time came for me to refocus my attention on my own issues, I found I was better able to concentrate on where I needed to be, rather than where I was. It helped speed my recovery and re-entry into a productive life once again. My recovery progresses, but it seems, sometimes, it moves along much too slow.
It hasn't been a good week and I've been in a terrible grump about it. After reading your post and being witness to your great attitude I was reminded of those days. I was able to draw myself away from the grump and take a fresh look at where I needed to be, rather than where I'm at now. So I thank you, vurtgirl, for your honesty. You turned my fretful cold weekend into a bright warm one. I pray your recovery is swift and your future full of hope. Whatever you're doing to maintain your great attitude, keep it up.

And as far as being "nuts" goes....you're not nuts. I should know. I'm crazy. Bona-fide. Certified. Blind Ramblin' Crazy. I've got papers. Sounds to me like you have it together.

Best of luck. Thanks again.
Peace.

You know, they say a smile is contageous, and I really believe it is. What you wrote here has really touched me and is one of the nicest gestures anyone has ever done, without any need to. I am so happy I was able to brighten your day, but having read this, you have done the same for me. I wish I was better with words to express how much I admire your strength in your recovery, and that your words actually help put in perspective how to achieve it.
I too have my shows that noone but me probably likes, smile.gif , and I too am bona-fide, certified, crazy, with papers to prove it. (Luckily for us, crazy doesn't equal stupid).
I've got to tell you I seldom have come accross such kindness, and I really respect you and thankyou for writing this.

I, too, am so sorry to hear you are injured! It must be very frustrating for you, because you sound like a person who is normally very active. Since you cannot get your body to be active, at least you have found ways to keep your mind going. TV, books, music, crossword puzzles, surfing the net, and of course, writing to us are all good ways to keep your spirits up. Heck, I keep my spirits up doing the same things.

If it is sad that you watch the reruns of LOCI over and over, even on the same day, then you've got company in that area. I do too - 1. To see VDO - physically biggrin.gif 2. To catch anything I may have missed - a sarcastic comment from Eames or a clue to BG's or Eames' personal lives. It takes my mind off my worries, which aren't a big deal, but sometimes burdensome. It's much easier to think about what's going on in LOCI - and easier is better sometimes.

So do hang in there and don't despair. You will recover physically, and with a good attitude and fun things to occupy your mind, you will be sane and happy when you do!

I've just wasted two precious hours of my life watching 007 Casino Royale. Is it just me or that movie sucks? I'm confused, because I read good reviews about it, but, in my opinion, everything after the opening credits (interesting animation and music) was a bad joke. The unrealistic and way too long action scenes, the nonsense plot, the lack of dialogues (I seriously think the script is 10 pages long tops), anyway, it was so ridiculous that at one point the whole thing started looking like comedy to me, and I burst out laughing during a scene that was supposed to be dramatic. The whole movie theatre stared at me, those people must be saying right now: "some crazy woman cracked up when James Bond was desperately trying to save the love of his life" laugh.gif

I was wondering if any of you saw it, and whether or not you liked it, I'm inclined to think that LOCI fans would hate it, due to the "boobs and action" approach.

Haven't seen it, and probably won't. I just don't see the new guy as Bond-ish at all. Don't know what all the fuss is...Thanks so much for the heads-up so I can avoid it like the plague!

What I do want to see is "The Good Shepherd" with Matt Damon. If anyone has seen, can you post? I'm lucky if I can talk my husband into going to one movie a year, and it's usually relegated to a Ben Stiller or Adam Sandler sophomoric comedy (cringes).

I was a little "Oh, I can't believe Pierce Brosnan is gone", but the new James Bond is okay. Not drop dead gorgeous, but he's better than I expected. He is really well-toned (they strip him naked in one scene and you can tell he worked out A LOT for that role) and very athletic (he runs/jumps/fights 2/3 of the movie). He doesn't do it for me, though, maybe because he lacks the intellectual factor. The movie is 2:24 long, and I can't remember what he sounds like, isn't it weird? It's all about the action. Ridiculous, unrealistic action. I can't believe this movie is a box office record, I think people are going to see it just out of curiosity about this new guy. Trust me, ladies, you'll be better off watching "Happy Feet" biggrin.gif

To kill two birds with one stone:

NS, watch where you point your quoting - you just quoted yourself!
For sheer irony's sake, I'm doing the same here cuz I don't want the above point missed amongst the faux 007 talk!

Last night, I taped an ep of CI b/c I went out. So I got home, watched it and went to bed.... then I dreamt of CI....it was w-e-i-r-d...

It was like watching the show and being in it at the same time (as more of an observer).

It went something like this:

Police all in the squad room talking. Goren, Eames, and Ross in the interview room. Someone at the entrance of the squad room screams. Cops all run out to see what's up. Some guy's got a bomb stuck to him. Goren yells "look out!" Everyone ducks or jumps behind their desks. Goren jumps behind a pillar (no idea where that came from) and the bomb explodes.

Scene shifts to Goren talking to Eames, telling her he has to make sure she's still fit for duty after everything. Then for some reason, they start to spar, throwing punches and all of that. Punches were flying and being blocked, then Goren starts doing round houses and kicking and Eames barely gets out of the way then he starts doing flips....the middle of the floor drops away and a railing circles it so they can see down to the first floor. Goren jumps from one end of the railing, flips through the air, and lands on the other railing. He tells Eames "If you can do that then you're fit for duty."

And that's about it.... biggrin.gif

I have NO idea where that came from but when I woke up I actually believed it was a real, new episode of the show....and no I'm not on crack. tongue.gif

Hmmm, I like this topic. We can talk about whatever the he** we want to. I get vivid dreams too alli, I always have. It's good when it's about something good, but when it's a nightmare, man does it suk, and I'm not on crack either smile.gif .
This topic is great at a time like this when they haven't shown a new ep in soooooooooooooo long, especially now that we have half the shows with our man than we use too. I can just sit here and nag all day if I wanted to, couldn't I? Well can't think of anything else now, but I'll be back mwoooaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhahhahhhahahha. wink.gif

Yeah I just started last week....because I never know what the h#$% to get people...except gift certficates but that's a last resort. Last week I bought 2 people's gift in one day which is practically a miracle for me...then this past Sunday, I took my mom shopping and got everyone else's gift (except my mother's of course). It was weird, I spent 3 hours shopping and just knew what to get people. I already know what to get my mom too so on Friday that'll be what I'm doing all day. Buying that last gift and helping my dad get a clue about what to buy people.

I have a friend who did shopping in October and I don't understand. People sometimes still buy themselves things around then so those crazy people could end up buying someone a gift that someone already bought themselves. Or what about release dates for cd's, dvd's, computer games, etc.? I suppose they just ignore it if people want one of those things...

Me, I'm definitely someone who only starts shopping from Dec 7th and on...and I always get it done.

You, my friend - Rock in so many different levels that I can't even count!!! I was going to stick to Damon Alburn and link Girls and Boys, but am seeing that the video sucks a**... So how about this instead?

...and now for something completely different

and one for kermie and all his rocky mountain friends...

Ohh, I turned down the radio for that (is a big charity thing going on here, all week), Interpol is cool! You gave me download ideas smile.gif.

And the Muppets....oh they better show the Muppet Christmas Carol again this year, otherwise it`s not Christmas!

I have inspiration for some other music links, but no time! Need to gather my stuff for tomorrow otherwise I`ll forget half of my things. Maybe later smile.gif.

better yet - i've been looking for an excuse to put this one up...

*pouts*

I had inspiration to put two things up....something from a Dutch band, and something from Pulp....since it only made sense to do so. Not a big fan though, they`re fun, but that`s it for me...The dog bark is weird hahahahahaha.

DOH! sorry... ph34r.gif

But in keeping with all the d'mn scary coincidences, I'd actually just come back to edit my post to ask you to put up some local music when you had the time [ ohmy.gif !!!!??!!!] Last thing I've heard from remotely close to out your way was Husky Rescue's Summertime Cowboy. Not enough to make me dive into them (just as Common People wasn't enough to make me go whole hog into PULP [again ohmy.gif !!!!??!!!]), but I love hearing stuff from other countries.

Oh and, my being a Cocteau Twins fan from way back, don't worry about necessarily just looking for stuff in English... wink.gif
Seraphina
Hehehe, well, the problem is that if you don`t understand Dutch or even German, our language sounds pretty d.amn awful to outsiders I believe. There`s one band though that makes Dutch very pretty. Anyway, I always think we have good bands so just quick some stuff:

Kane Please don`t look at the singer hahaha (English)
Blof It`s a little soft, but I love them. There are going to record this song in English as well, the title means "Proposal without rings (Dutch)
Blof & Counting Crows And yes, the lyrics make just as little sense in Dutch.
Krezip They can rock really good as well, but this is a nice ballad (English)
Ilse de Lange Is a bit more country than the rest. (English)

Anyway, this is who I thought of just quickly, we`ve got loads, but the problem is that with a lot of stuff it`s just a shame to not know what they are singing.

End of my promotion of Dutch music laugh.gif
