It was beautiful yesterday in my part of the world but now it's reverted to type wink.gif...ie, overcast, cooler temperatures with torrential rain forecast

It was gorgeous in NJ too. Clear, sunny skies, low humidity and highs in the low 80s. Couldn't ask for more perfect weather for a day off. Today it's back to being hazy, hot and humid. The three H's NJ is known for this time of year.

Oh NS! Any good news is a port in the storm! The great news is it was doable! That is excellent! tongue.gif The scanner I have zero suggestions for, my Canon printer doesn't do anything other than print photos and docs.
When you get a rest tell us what you did to solve the crisis, but get a rest most importantly, this takes it out a person. happy.gif I am still looking at Mac's new memory. I am terrified to install it!

I am a FREDHEAD too. Both as an actor and a politician. He reminds me of an older Dr. Phil! LOL!

I actually watched his interview on Leno and thought he was excellent. HOWEVER, I tuned in because TOBY KEITH was on- - besides Vincent, he's my #1 guy.

Also, so very sad about Mr. Wizard- I watched him faithfully and he truly imparted in me my love for science. He was the coolest. I was fortunate enough to have a 7th grade science teacher who was just as awesome - - every kid should have teachers like them.

In my opinion, I don't think the USA is ready for a woman president...just yet. I would really love it if Rudy Gullani (I'm not sure if I spelled his last name right) wins! Its offical he is running, isn't he? I really don't watch too much news on tv because most of the time its really depressing!

The is just an FYI for all of you who have kids and grandkids. I tried to copy and paste the article here. But it didn't work properly. So I just typed it here for you all.

"Thomas and Friends" railway toys recalled

WASHINGTON (Reuters) ~ More than 1 million of the popular "Thomas & Friends wooden railway toys made in China are being voluntarily recalled because some
may contain lead paint, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Wednesday.

About 1.5 million wooden vehicles, buildings and other train- set parts for young children are being recalled, the CPSC said in a statement. The toys were sold in the United States from January 2005 through June 2007, the statement said.

Lead is toxic and can pose a serious health risk to young children who often put objects in their mouths. Children under 6 are most at risk.

The CPSC and RC2 Corp., the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company that imports "Thomas & Friends" toys, said there had been no reports of illness or injuries linked to the recall.

The recall of toys made in China follows a series of health scandals in the United States involving food, drugs and other products imported from China, from poisoned cough syrup to tainted toothpaste and pet food.

"Consumers should take the recalled toys away from young children immediately and contact RC2 Corp. for a replacement toy," the CPSC said.

I got this information off of the Yahoo News.

Is anyone else getting a ton of viewer surveys from NBC? When I first joined the board I got a couple of them. Was thrilled that they would be interested in my opinion and then nothing.

In the last two months I am averaging at least one every week or so, occasionally more frequently. Most of the shows they're asking questions about are from Bravo (Project Runway, Shear Genius, Top Chef, Kathy Griffin, Top Design) and I've had a couple for USA Network (Starter Wife, 4400) and one for a SciFi show I didn't watch. I've actually gotten two about Shear Genius, one before it aired and another today after the fact. Haven't gotten anything about an actual NBC show, just the satellite networks.

Certainly hoping they ask about Criminal Intent when it gets closer to the air dates. I'll give them a sweet earful for that one in the free response screens:

"It's appointment TV. I absolutely rearrange my schedule just to catch it."
"I won't schedule tests I would have to grade for the night it's on."
"Watch it in first run and then again to follow up and catch details I might have missed the first four times I watched."
"Unplug the telephone just for that hour."

I'm open to suggestions if you would like to add something to the list!

My day was a good day, too; although pretty busy. We had our annual spring garage sale all day yesterday and this morning. My mother moved from an apartment to an assisted living facility in January and our basement has been filled with her stuff. Don't know how one person can have so much stuff in a small apartment! The weather has been beautiful and we did real well.

After the garage sale was over, hubby and I went to our oldest granddaughter's graduation party. Good time to see family and friends.

After watching the Cleveland Indians lose to Atlanta I have just been lounging and doing nothing. Nice relaxing way to end the day.

Mom's little iguana Mel died last night. So we had to bury her this morning. She was never totally healthy. Will miss her, but better gone than in pain. Other than that the day was slow, no fire calls. Also for a change no thunderstorms. Supossed to get more humid and in the 90's Sunday-Wednesday at least.

I know reptiles can be tough to keep because of their specialized diets and they don't always respond well to veterinary care. I'm sure your mom did everything she could for Mel. She's in my thoughts.

A friend's "little iguana" has grown into a four foot long B-movie dinosaur in such a short time and still has the quirky personality s/he had when s/he was a wee baby. Still not sure if Spike's a boy or a girl though.

Mom's first iguana Harley was given to her when she(Harley) was about 3 years old, and she was already over three feet! She lived till over 10 years, which in captivity is rare. She died at over 4 and half feet, and over 20 lbs. She went to the bathroom over the shower drain, because in the wild they go in water. Mom would keep paper in the shower and then just throw it away. She had to roam of the apartment, she would even crawl into Mom's bed to snuggle with her!! No kidding, they are very affectiate creatures. We would walk Harley on a leash, if for no other reason than to watch people's faces!!
Mel was only approx. 2 feet when she died. She was never big enough to roam the house, but she would sit on our shoulders, and had a leash to go with us outside.
