And the Muppets....oh they better show the Muppet Christmas Carol again this year, otherwise it`s not Christmas!

For me it's Mickey's Christmas Carol (1980's version). I saw it last sunday while wrapping gifts. It got me totally in the mood for Christmas! I was so excited.

Now I just need my new fav. Christmas movie fix...Karrol's Christmas...

Although, I do enjoy Rizzo in Muppets Christmas Carol...but I could do without all the singing.

So, I've only been a member here for *counts* not quite two weeks yet, and already I'm leaving. Well, we college kids get 3 1/2 weeks off for winter break, and today's my last day in the dorms. Normally I wouldn't go all sad.gif for this, BUT as of right now, we don't have net access at home, which means, no more talking about LOCI with you guys. sad.gif

P.S. Sometimes it's good to unplug. It takes some getting use to cause we're so use to having info and access to everything at the tip of our fingers, but I really think that sometimes it good to just unplug and relax. Especially you being a college student and having all that work on your hands as well. As I said, savor you time off, and we'll all be right here waiting when you get back. smile.gif

Have a great vacation at home, jordan. You won't be missing much here, at least not until the next new Goren/Eames ep. Then, you can always catch up on the discussion! Take some notes while watching so you can share your opinion & observations with us when you come back! Hope you & your family get to spend some quality time together doing fun stuff. Maybe you can talk some friends into having a VDO Day with you & visit Chelsea Pier area for a sighting! That's what I hope to do with my daughter one day over the break biggrin.gif

You said it DonnaLucy. That's a perfect Christmas classic. That's exactly what I thought of when I was reading about this here. Of course there are many others, but I love that one mucho. I always think of the Charlie Brown tree whenever I see any trees that are kinda slim, or deadish, and during my favorite holiday, Halloween, it's the Charlie Brown great pumkin patch I think of. biggrin.gif

Hehehe, well, the problem is that if you don`t understand Dutch or even German, our language sounds pretty d.amn awful to outsiders I believe. There`s one band though that makes Dutch very pretty. Anyway, I always think we have good bands so just quick some stuff:

Kane Please don`t look at the singer hahaha (English)
Blof It`s a little soft, but I love them. There are going to record this song in English as well, the title means "Proposal without rings (Dutch)
Blof & Counting Crows And yes, the lyrics make just as little sense in Dutch.
Krezip They can rock really good as well, but this is a nice ballad (English)
Ilse de Lange Is a bit more country than the rest. (English)

Anyway, this is who I thought of just quickly, we`ve got loads, but the problem is that with a lot of stuff it`s just a shame to not know what they are singing.

End of my promotion of Dutch music laugh.gif

Yeah...Hummm? I guess that would be an accurate assessment; excusing the Cocteau's - they've their own musical category that the Sugarcubes kind of step toe toward a bit, imo. Well.. You know... Accurate as long as we're not talking Kylie Minogue or Robbie Williams-like homicide inducing brit pop!!!! Now, that'd be a blow to the heart... And not a baaaaad word about Robbie Williams please biggrin.gif. But I can see why you don`t like him, although I am curious how well known he is in the States, considering he was a nothing over there 2,5 years ago. Oh, and obviously he does NOT qualify as britpop laugh.gif.

Hummmm - I see! *pulls out notepad...under Gerard Way: "Robbie Williams - No touchy"*

Nah, he's not really known here at all outside of random tabloid show mentions if he's on a simulcasts of European awards show or something - or, unless you're talking about people like me, who have an odd mix of older memory retention. It was around 5 - 6 yrs ago that he had his highest profile when MTV was trying to push him to people here by having him on their shows and playing that CGI video where he rips off his skin and muscles. Actually, the timing I'm not sure of - whenever it was that we were running screaming from all things Spice Girls???

Seemed a pretty funny guy, though, in interviews I'd seen....

Wait a minute - I just reread that more clearly: You were ON the radio? Did ya win something or was it just a shout out thing??!? (which is still pretty coo..)
Seraphina
Hehe, I didn`t win anything. It`s just that we`ve been listening to this radio station for two weeks with the other people on a forum and since the chart that we were listening to finished at 6 that night, we needed rehab from the excitement and all the extremely good songs. It just so happens that one of the DJ`s and the producer are also on that forum an check in every now and then when they are on the air, and that DJ was on that night after 6 with his own show. Anyway, lots of jokes about the immenent (is that how you spell it?) hanging of Saddam and on the forum the suggestion came to request Hanging by a Moment from Lifehouse. End of the show they took some requests and I ended up being the one texting the suggestion to the show because all the smart other nerds were still debating who was gonna call in. They called me back and voila, I was on the air biggrin.gif.

And yeah, that`s the abbreviated version of the story laugh.gif. Too bad you don`t speak Dutch, `cause I have a link ;-).

NBC Universal Pulls Plug on 'Mullally'

By Chris Pursell
The first syndication casualty of the season got the axe Wednesday, as NBC Universal informed staff of "The Megan Mullally Show" that the series was being cancelled.

Production is being shut down immediately and airings of the first-run talk show strip will continue through the end of January in both originals and repeats. The series has been averaging a 0.8 rating this season, tying it for last among all series in the genre.

In a statement, NBCU wrote "We are very proud of the hard work and effort that our staff put into the production of this show. And our host, Megan Mullally, is truly one of the most talented people in our business. We are grateful to have partnered with her on the show and are appreciative for her tireless commitment, effort and dedication to this endeavor."

Executives at the distributor will be working with stations to find potential programming solutions to fill the hole left by "Megan's" departure.

I, too, had a weird dream a few days ago featuring VDO. In it, he & Erbe had re-scheduled another DVD signing. I was in some warehouse working (weird?) & all of a sudden I check my watch & the signing was almost over. I run outside & I'm near a beach & all these people are milling around, but no one knew where the signing was. It goes on like this, then I woke up sad.gif

Actually, I really came here to post a comment about the Wikipedia update on VDO's marital status. Our good moderator closed the topic, but can that stop me? biggrin.gif

Just wanted to post my mixed feelings about this news. Of course, I am happy that Vincent is not living the life of his character & has a wife & family around him. Being an estranged husband & father is no fun & I'm sure he was very unhappy with that situation. Hence, the reconciliation smile.gif

One thing I found was an article saying that he and Carin were back together for the sake of their son.....because he is so young ...I don't know what's true.....Except that MY crush (KE) is happily married lol
if he's married, ladies, look at it this way.........his first didn't last....so odds aren't good for the second... smile.gif
but, whatever makes him happy....

Your "crush" (KE) is either separated or divorced, according to rumor. smile.gif

She made a comment in a recent interview (spring or summer 2006) that it was hard being a "single parent" in this business. She was referring to herself in the interview.

She & her husband Terry may have reconciled since then, who knows?

Actually, I really came here to post a comment about the Wikipedia update on VDO's marital status. Our good moderator closed the topic, but can that stop me? biggrin.gif

Hey DonnaLucy girlfriend smile.gif , I only closed that thread -- I never said it couldn't be discussed elsewhere. tongue.gif Be my guest, as long as we all stay nice and respectful of each other (and VDO). I don't know if you saw my follow-up post in that thread. Read it if you get a chance as I do not plan to comment on it anywhere else.

Have a nice night all.

I thought I saw a pic of her and hubby...maybe it was old....but I'd be happy to be her babysitter.... smile.gif
All us "normal" people can do is dream, speculate, and hope we get the right info....but, it gives us something to do in our off time lol
Question:
How do you find out when NBC is holding DVD signings?
Do they send out a newsletter or something? Cause I would seriously think of making a road trip to get to see KE

You know when something or someone is really on your mind when you star them in your dreams biggrin.gif

I posted my CI dream on here somewhere. not sure if its in this thread or another one.

Yeah, I'm notorious among my friends for having celebrities in my dreams, even people I don't like or movies i've never seen. One time i read an article about ER, back in high school (I had never seen the show back then) and it mentioned George Clooney. I had only seen his picture in the magazine and on ads on tv...but sure enough he was in my dream, slinging pizzas of all things...

Hopefully my next celebrity guest appearance in my dreams will be VDO again. I enjoyed it. tongue.gif

Rowe,
I did read your follow-up & was so glad to read how thoroughly you researched this information prior to accepting the post from the Wikipedia representative. I totally trust your judgment on this & all things pertaining to our board. Of course, I am curious as to the identity of the D'Onofrio spokesperson, but totally understand why you can't reveal this info. cool.gif

All kidding aside, I believe I speak for everyone here that we all highly respect VDO's privacy & wish him nothing but a happy life, which has to include him being with those that he loves:his family smile.gif

This reconciliation probably explains his recent weight loss & him looking so rested & content over the summer & at the DVD signing.

If anyone who knows VDO reads this board for any reason, tell Vincent that we all love him & wish him all the best!

Thanks again, Rowe, for doing such a wonderful job biggrin.gif We are the ones who are proud to have YOU!

Hello, everybody!

I'm here to talk about this supposed reconciliation. Could anyone name this so-called spokesperson? Why all the secrecy? It doesn't look like there's a reliable source behind it, but it does look like someone could be imagining or wishing it's true ("If you believe in something long enough, you just naturally come to think it's true"). Please only believe what you hear straight from D'Onofrio's mouth.

Thank you.
