We're doing pretty good considering . He had been sick for a long time he had a stroke a few years ago I think I think it was a few years ago hard to keep track of time. and was recently as last year very shortly after his brother my grandpa died of a massive stroke as well. diagnosed with terminal cancer. we think that maybe another stroke took him this time. not the cancer . so I think i n some ways we were prepared for this to happen just did'nt think it was gonna be this soon..

My God, that's a hard walk toward the end for your uncle. A stroke, a death by stroke, cancer and another possible stroke. If he was in a position to be in touch with everything happening to and around him (i.e., not debilitated by the first stroke), it might be comforting to hold on to the thought that all of the physical and emotional suffering is over for him now....
It's terrible that his services will be on your mom's birthday - my mom, with her traumatic relationship with death (faced her own mortality at a very young age), wouldn't be able to handle such a thing.
