Have the writers simply jump ship. Seriously, the writing on Joey was better than the last episode of Las Vegas. I think the writers forgot why we tuned in, let me try and help remind you from a guys point of view:

1) I enjoy the behind the scenes look at Las Vegas security and some of the ways people try to cheat.

2) I enjoy looking at beautiful women, sexy outfits, endless pool scenes, especially topless pools.

3) I want to watch people working in FUN PLACE, dressed to the 10s and enjoying their work. I want to escape from my crappy job and think for a couple seconds about how exciting it would be to work security in a Las Vegas hotel.

4) I like seeing them run into movie or music stars playing themselves.

I don't care about the CIA. Except that Ed has connections. Other than that, who cares. It's Las Vegas not CIA Las Vegas - give it a rest.

I don't want to see Mary acting like a high school brat. Seriously, that was do depressing to watch.

I don't want to watch them flying off to Hawaii or other places. No one is watching the hotel, it's terrible TV and makes no sense at all. If your intent is to kill the show, keep it up. It does NOT entertain and therefore I'm tuning out! As much as I love James Caan, this whole plot is stupid.

In fact the whole idea of killing off Jim Caan was pretty dumb. Everyone knows you're not going to kill him off the show would be dead. Pick a character you could really not bring back, then you'll have us talking all summer long.

NO I do not agree. I love the show more this season already!

I have to say it's a good show. Mary is getting on my nerves. But that is good isn't it. That means I am getting totally involved in the show.

If anything I would say show "Cheryl Ladd" Ed's wife some more. I am in my 30's now.

Do child hood crushes ever die? ;-)
sam_marquez
So you basically want the writers to recycle everthing from Seasons 1-3? The whole point of good TV is to keep it fresh. I don't agree with anything you said. So far this Season is really good and more interesting than Season 3.
izzy106
I have loved every minute of this season so far. I loved the trip to Hawaii, Mike and Sam were HILARIOUS and I loved Danny and Mike helping Ed with the CIA stint. Mary acting like a high school brat makes for good drama.
If you want to watch the same rehashed storylines, go order the DVDs for seasons 1-3.
JulieAnneW
I have to agree with a lot of what you said unfortunately. I haven't missed a show since I started watching at the end of season 1. I used to watch the show mostly for Danny/Mary but since the writers ruined them I tuned in for the Sam and Danny/Ed and Mary scenes( although most of what they gave Mary was ridiculous). Since the writing took a nose dive in season 2 I was pretty much hanging in for the Danny/Mary reunion. I thought the writing got much better in season three but was very inconsistent. I have finally reached the point where it's just not enjoyable to watch anymore. The Hawaiian scenery was spectacular and although VM was great in the ep the plot was boring. The CIA plot was just ludicrous. Since the Danny and Mary story is now trashed and they've tied him down with Delinda there is no reason to watch the show anymore. If we get some spoilers that Danny and Mary reunite or at least Danny comes to his senses and dumps Delinda then I'll tune back in. I know this is really going to **** people off but I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Hopefully the writing will get better, I've heard the Christmas ep should be good but who knows?

I have to express my opinion about this season. I realize it is only a TV show, however, I am very disappointed in the beginning episodes and I feel that Las Vegas won't make it much longer than one more season because of the route the writers have taken. I always tuned in to see if Danny and Mary would get back together and now with D/D hooking up and the anger the writers have Mary protraying it is like they are trying to get rid of her, which would be to bad because in the previous seasons she was awesome to watch. I enjoy the show but I think the writer's need to thottle back on the direction they are going or they are going to lose the audience they barely have. I am interested how everything will unfold but I am not going to rearrange my schedule around the show!
lasvegasfan
Personally I'm loving this season a lot.

The only bad part of the show is Mary. Her personality has gone way down the drain. But if the writers fix that, the show will be perfect.
KALMANI
i love the show, so dont knock it - there just trying new things - so it was different but it was interesting - you gotta change it up sometimes to add a little a spice - watching the same thing over again is not what kept me in the show, its that to expect a something a little different next time - as a matter of fact i work in a casino as a dealer & man i wish i was working in that casino, i would turn 120 years old before i would ever quit from there - i would be dealing with a walker if i worked there laugh.gif .......

btw, i love mary, so keep mary on the show...u might hate her now but **** i love that body that innocent face & her personality wow can i get one!!! writers again trying to make some drama but its ok they'll find out something better to do with mary...there's something about mary...

I agree that this season is aweful so far. I am not seeing the poiint to most of the story lines. Why is Mary having ot be suck a dits? What is up with Sam and her freaky happenings? Danny and Delinda a no fun anymore either. They do not a relationship they have sex. Before the show was funny intriquing suspicious romantic and you still got to see all the happenings of Vegas too. This year you have people and nothing to them
MeganBreanne
I agree with most everyone in the thread -- the show has gone down the crapper.
Leeanns
Didn't the show get some new writers this season. If so maybe someone should have encouraged them to watch the first three seasons. Alot of the plotlines are similar, and they are even re-using the same names. Hopefully it will get better from here on in.
jamiee
I see the same writers, and IMO the plots are better than last season, just maybe too much in each epiosde. Then again I am not sitting and worrying about Dary reuinted, or obsessed with Mary. biggrin.gif
bethanyf
I want to know what's going on with Mary, why is she being all insane?
Why the Crossing Jordan crew keep coming back, why Jordan and Mike had to fight over a rat??
And what in the world is going on with Danny and Delinda... Ed thinks it's fine they are moving in together? Where are the writers?
Are they still out from around the time Monica blew off the roof in that ridiculous butterfly getup?
Was there no other way to get rid of her?
And where is Sam's ex? Hmmm? Hasn't been around much lately.
There is no meat to the show anymore, the casino must be running itself. No "friendship", it's all fizzled out. That's part of why I loved that show. They had the beautiful people, the endearing characters, the guest-stars/singers that I actually wanted to see, a decent story line with interesting plot points.... I'm about to take it off my DVR. Seriously.
SantaCruz
This show used to have a frivolous side I found amusing. A bit weird sometimes (magical roof-flying Laura Flynn Boyle) but lighthearted and fun. As an ensemble piece, the interactions between the characters, framed by the jobs and envirionment they work in made for an interesting and entertaining recipe. All this sudden, dark super-secret CIA stuff is a load. In tonights episode, Danny's commando skills were totally superficial and cliche. No one can make one call to a person they met at a 'security seminar' and shut down an airport. Another hint, you might look to see just where you're tossing the percussion gernade lest you fry your girls hair off or worse, eh? One hit knockouts? Sure just grab your adversary by the scruff of the neck and hit his head on a car hood, no prob. I do it all the time. Never mind that there are about a bazillion more back muscles than a far reached arm. Predictably, out goes the bad guy. Come on... Remind me of the 'karate-chop' days. This show used to have a twinkle in its eye, now it's a black eye, methinks. All this forced and inappropriate 'intrigue' is destroying all the good stuff this show used to be.
steve84
I am done with this show

The Danny - Delinda stuff has been nauseating to watch this season and they have ruined Mary but having a 2 hour episode pretty much ends it for me. I dont think I can watch this show anymore. It was fun while it lasted and I know this show has never been known for being close to realistic but I think last night was the official jumped the shark episode. Maybe if it was only an hour I would have tolerated it and moved on but it was total torture trying to watch the whole show last night. I knew when it moved to Fridays it wouldnt last but I never expected to lose interest so quickly Oh well thanks for the memories

Hmn well the ratings don't seem to agree with you and many loved it that I talked to! It got the # 1 spot in it's second hour too. I loved Mary too! Like her new personality a lot! and loved Danny with Ed and Delinda!

Ratings for the week or ratings for the crappy Friday time slot? ABC won te night with Polar Express

Fast National ratings for Friday, Dec. 1, 2006

ABC kicked off the holiday movies-and-specials season Friday with solid ratings for "The Polar Express," on its way to a win for the night.

ABC averaged a 6.9 rating/12 share in primetime to win the night over NBC, 6.3/11. CBS took third with a 4.5/8. The CW and FOX tied for fourth in households at 2.8/5, with The CW drawing more total viewers.

The lead among adults 18-49 also went to ABC, which earned a 3.7 rating in the demographic. NBC finished second at 3.1. CBS and FOX each averaged 1.5, slightly better than The CW's 1.4.

The broadcast premiere of "The Polar Express" put ABC on top at 8 p.m. with a 7.1/12. NBC's "1 vs. 100" delivered a 5.9/10. The special "Ice Wars: USA vs. the World" was third for CBS with a 4.3/7. FOX went with its legal drama "Justice," 3.0/5, to finish fourth, beating out the first hour of "Friday Night Smackdown!" on The CW.

ABC's movie held the lead at 9 p.m., improving to 7.3/12. NBC stayed in second with the first half of a two-hour "Las Vegas," 6.0/10. "Ice Wars" remained in third for CBS. "Smackdown!" improved to 3.0/5 in its second hour, moving ahead of FOX's "Trading Spouses," 2.6/4.

At 10 p.m., the conclusion of "Las Vegas" rose to 7.1/12 to give NBC the top spot. ABC's "20/20" posted a 6.3/11, while a repeat of "Numb3rs" on CBS averaged 4.8/8.

The only thing I can think of right now that dissapoints me is how they got rid of the swoosh, when it goes through the casino very fast. The only upside to that is they have more time for story. I miss the swoosh.
JulieAnneW
I miss the swoosh too, I wish they would get rid of the recap and go back to the swoosh. It was such a signature thing for Las Vegas, but then I also think they need to stick with casino related storylines. I thought Delinda's Box was awful, as much as I loved seeing Danny in Marine mode and thought his acting was great, the rest of that story was badly written and acted. They need to give Sam more to do, they are totally wasting Vanessa's talents, at least they gave more for Nikki Cox to do, she is so underrated on the show and the writers finally got Mary back to normal.
DimeraLover1977
This show is great and I really hope they don't cancel it. I love Danny and Delinda together, and the rest of the cast is just hilarious. I love the interaction between Mike and Danny, as they always seem to be competing against each other for something.

Gee what shock! Die hard Dary fans hated this show, and also downplay how well the ratings were. The show GAINED viewers over the two hours! It was a great show!

I agree except I am liking Mary now more. I thinkt he sad part is that many fans want the show cancelled if they can't have their couple. That is really a bit over the top. I am loving it. I loved Dary, but I love D/D, I just like the show. There is nothing else like it! I think people need to get over the couple thing, and enjoy it or stop watching - since they claim not to watch it anyway!

I really think it is O.K. now to stop bashing them. I am fairly sure that most of them have given up on any sort of Danny and Mary reunion, so lets just give this whole "gettting over the couple thing", a rest now, shall we?

Maybe Steve84 isn't a Dary fan. Not everyone who dislikes this last episode or the show in general are Dary fans. Why don't you stop with your obsession about Dary fans and just post about how much you like the show.

I will never understand why someone comes on a message board to announce they are leaving. Does the creator of this thread think NBC gives a rat's a$$ about his opinion over the millions who watched it and loved it??? Do they really think any of us will try to stop him at the door and BEG him to stay???

If you really dislike the show that much... Bye Bye!!!
MeganBreanne
I think the point of an official message board on the networks official site is to give not only the people at the show, but the people at the network as well, an idea of how the general public feels. not necessarily the only opinion, or the most popular one, but it's still an opinion none the less.

And the creator of the thread most certainly isn't the only person ready to quit watching the show. It's not only one person who feels this way. Sorry.
tb0026
I love the show too, but this past weeks episode where ed and delinda are kidnapped for 50 million dollars was the worst possible episode! We all know you cant pull anything over on ed! The start of the show has delinda kidnapped and ed getting beat up? It was too far fetched! The writers of the show really need to think about what they are writing! Writers, if your reading this, then maybe future episodes will be better?
Very dissapointing episode, and im not the only on who thinks so! STEP IT UP!!! or lose alot of fans!!!

I agree. It's hard to take critiques of a show too seriously when the people who are posting are not even watching it by their own admission and only watching to see if Danny goes and crawls back to mary, even though she ended the relationship! lol

I loved Danny and Mary, but I am liking this too, and really I like mary better now than before. She is funny and different and quirky. I also love Danny in the Deline family which makes so much more sense than having him in Mary's family which is depressing, and Mary also has so much baggage with Danny and can't get over high school. They are good friends, but Danny and D elinda act like a couple. Danny with the Delines is so good too. I love the possibilities!

Again, you're debating the mindset of the poster. Not everyone who prefers Danny with Mary is ONLY watching because they want to see if he 'crawls' back to her. No matter how many times people say other wise, it's like you don't hear what we're saying.

You love the possibilities of Danny and Delinda. Great. I hope you enjoy the ride and that it lasts longer for you than it did for Dary. But it's irritating when Dary fans couldn't say that they liked the possibilities between them without other posters jumping down their throats telling them why they were/are watching the show.

I thought the writing for "Delinda's Box" was top notch. I watch this show every week for the drama. The kidnapping of Delinda storyline was riveting. I was talking about the episode with a few of my friends that watch Las Vegas and they liked it as well. The scene where Ed secretly passes a message to Danny via toilet paper in the bathroom stall was clever. Danny digging up the box and finding it empty was a surprise. The scenes with Delinda in the warehouse were well written. I liked it when a tied up Delinda was telling Mr. Chips that he is going to die. She laughs at him and his men and tells them they are all going to die. After Ed hangs up on Mr. Chips, Delinda tells Mr. Chips "It sucks to be you". I liked that line. This scene emphasizes Delinda's strength and courage. I liked the surveillance camera Ed and Danny used to check out the situation Delinda was in. Where do I get one of those? Having Ed and Danny actually survey the situation instead of just busting in to get Delinda back was realistic. Mr. Chips buried in Delinda's box at the end was a nice touch.

I thought Danny digging up the box and finding it empty was too predictable considering there was almost an hour left in the show. I agree with whoever said this episode was too long. Delinda's scenes were unbelievable, I did like that line though "It sucks to be you". I hope this show gets away from the kidnapping plots, it's getting old. I liked that they showed a softer side to Sam but I wish they would give her more to do. I think it would have been better if it had been "Sam's Box" because Vanessa would have really been able to pull off those scenes. I think Josh did a great job as well as James Lesure and Nikki Cox. I got grossed out when Mary dropped the gum on that guys back, it was funny watching her try and get it off without him knowing at first.

What a shock, since you hate Danny and Delinda. Molly did a very good job, and I had a feeling Danny wouldn't find her, but IMO it still made for more suspense. Loved it.

What does having an hour left in the show have to do with the box being empty? Danny could have easily found Delinda in the box. Ed and Danny haven't recovered the money yet. Danny could have found Delinda and the rest of the storyline could have been Ed and Danny chasing the kidnappers for the casino's money. This is what I thought was going to happen. I'm glad it didn't because this would have been predictable in my opinion. Don't forget there's three storylines running. They aren't going to spend the whole hour left on the Kidnapping story. I couldn't disagree with you more on Delinda's scenes. I thought Molly did a great job.

What is getting old is you attacking other posters who may or MAY NOT be Dary fans by calling them "bitter" or "obsessed" whenever they express there dislike for parts of the show. Usually the posts have nothing to do with your favorite couple or theirs. This is a board to discuss the show which includes plots, acting, writing, etc. No one said they disliked a certain actor, not impressed with a certain performance yes but not a personal dislike for an actor. I think you are taking all of this way to seriously, I don't believe you should bash other posters on a site but you need to take a look at yourself before you go and accuse others of being obsessed.
HerdGrad
why does every viewer and their mother feel the need to tell us then they are not watching a show anymore? Do we honestly care? Please if you don't want to watch the show anymore, by all means don't. No one has a gun to you head. We REALLY don't need to hear about it. Honestly I don't think anyone here really cares if you do or don't. There are many better ways to gain attention for yourself.
Emmy74
I didn't think critiquing someone's performance was against the rules, but by all means if any of you feel the stuff being said about Molly is crossing the line into actor bashing then I absolutely think you should report it so that people know what's allowed and what is not. I like all the actors on this show, but I don't think all of them are on their game 100% of the time and if we aren't allowed to comment on that then I'd like to know. I also think it's unfair to accuse everyone who posts a criticism of only feeling that way because of a couple. There may be a few instances where that's the case, but I don't think it's fair to say that about every single person who didn't like this ep.

What I find amusing is that all these people who are crying out in multiple threads about the injustice of anyone daring to say they weren't impressed with Molly's performance and accusing them of being biased because they want a couple said absolutely nothing when a poster in this thread made a mean and rude comment about Nikki. The bias obviously goes both ways.

It's hard to take criticism of Molly's acting seriously when it comes from people who just want Danny and Mary as a couple. They seem to hate the show now no matter what and have to keep saying they are not watching. Bye bye!

So true, and then coming back and saying they didn't watch, the show, but criticizing the acting and storyline. If I don't enjoy a show I don't watch. I like the show now, but if Danny and Delinda are not a couple I will not hate the show. I watch for more than that.
MeganBreanne
But there are posters out there who haven't specified if they 'ship a couple. They may or they may not.

If someone didn't like the episode and said so, a number of other posters would immediately start posting saying that they didn't like it because they don't like the D/D dynamic. The reality is that you don't have to be a Dary fan to have not enjoyed this episode.

As I've said before, I think Molly's acting skills have improved over the course of the show. Do I like Delinda now? Not particularly. The main reason being she is no longer the character that we were introduced too. I know that characters have to grow and mature -- but in my opinion, this is not what happened to Delinda. I think the writers did a complete turn-around and gave Delinda Mary's personality and vice versa.

Emmy74 -- great call on the bias going both ways.

LOL Delinda does NOT have Mary's old personality at all. She just xhowed more depth to her since the end of last season. I know some would love to see her one dimensional and not having any real point on the show, but she was the only one who did not have any growth and she is Ed's daughter. Mary is not like Delinda. She is still the same person, but also showing other sides to her. When that kid thought she was a hooker, mary did not react like Delinda would, she acted in her innocent way again. It's called developing characters and making them more than one dimensional.

I joined this message site especially to make a comment re the Danny/Delinda relationship but before I make my comment I have to state my surprise by how certain posters respond to comments that they don't share.

If a viewer feels that they can no longer watch the programme because they don't like how/where the show is going, I feel they have an obligation to state these reasons and certainly shouldn't be 'shouted' down by other posters.

This is a message board and thank goodness for diverse opinions or wouldn't his be a boring old place.

I am one of the 'anti' Delinda/Danny brigade, I just don't see any chemistry between the 2 actors and they would have been better off leaving them as friends who had an underlying fire. Where will this relationship go? They surely have to stay together as otherwise there would be friction between Danny and Ed.

I also think that over the last season the show is becoming more the 'Ed, Danny and Delinda' show with other cast members being pushed more and more into the background. I liked this show because it was an ensemble which allowed different storylines that brought all the characters to the fore. That seems to have gone by the way and in fact it's becoming too repetitive.

Now this is my opinion and I have the right to voice that. I also feel if the show continues in this way then I may not be tuning in.

I also feel if the show continues in this way then I may not be tuning in.

dragon57 -- welcome to the board, and I'm glad that you were able to state your opinion diplomatically.

I also believe that the show has become all about Ed, Danny and Delinda (more so Danny and Delinda) and that everyone else is getting pushed into the background.

Frankly, as much as I like James Caan, I don't watch the show only for him. I'm a fan of most everyone on the show, and wish that it would become the ensemble that it was at one point.

I feel like the heart of this show, as it once was, was the chemistry and relationship between the employees and friends at the Montecito, not the storylines. But that has fallen by the way-side. I think more group interactions would be great.

James Caan was barely on the show last week. And I like the Deline family being the center of the show. He is the lead of the show, and their family is fun.

why does every viewer and their mother feel the need to tell us then they are not watching a show anymore? Do we honestly care? Please if you don't want to watch the show anymore, by all means don't. No one has a gun to you head. We REALLY don't need to hear about it. Honestly I don't think anyone here really cares if you do or don't. There are many better ways to gain attention for yourself.

Because they are entitled to their opinions and stating them for the whole world to read. That you don't like it when they do that is your problem. Actually, the title of this topic "I Am Done With This Show" should have given you an idea of what the post was about. You didn't have to open the thread, read it, and then respond to it now did you? Why does everyone who doesn't like it when someone states an opinion that differs with theirs feel the need to announce that fact. Sound familiar?

The Danny - Delinda stuff has been nauseating to watch this season and they have ruined Mary but having a 2 hour episode pretty much ends it for me. I dont think I can watch this show anymore. It was fun while it lasted and I know this show has never been known for being close to realistic but I think last night was the official jumped the shark episode. Maybe if it was only an hour I would have tolerated it and moved on but it was total torture trying to watch the whole show last night. I knew when it moved to Fridays it wouldnt last but I never expected to lose interest so quickly Oh well thanks for the memories

I still like the show, but I want Danny with Mary! they fit... PLUS Mary NEEDS Danny! and visa versa!

Danny and Delinda, it seems is just sex!
