Full Version: Youtube making Conan lose to Ferguson
NBC > NBC Extras > NBC Vault > Late Night Vault > Late Night with Conan O'Brien

Sad but true. NBC's aim to rid youtube of anything related to their shows is seriously hurting them. Conan's ratings are going down and Fergusons going up, a lot of news sources attributing it to youtube. NBC and CBS's official youtube channels aside, NBC is constantly scouring and taking down any Conan videos people post, while CBS doesn't care that people post Ferguson clips. They made the obvious realization that fan posted videos generate more hype and viewers than tightly-controlled distribution. NBC are being waaay too corporate, especially on a video sharing website where EVERYONE sees through it.

In closing, rethink things NBC. Conan's segments are extremely entertaining and on youtube are GOLD with regards to viewership and web linkage. You taking down everything is killing your own ratings. rolleyes.gif

It sucks how corporations don't know how to handle YouTube. I really want to see Conan stuff I miss in a place where I can

1) Find the frickin' clip

and

2) Watch said clip without waiting a jillion years for it to load.

NBC.com provides neither and updates their clips like every other month.

Sometimes you can still find Conan clips on YouTube, but you have to be quick because as soon as NBC sees them they pull them down. If you see them, act quickly and watch them before Big Brother gets wind of it.

I've tried to look up old Conan bits on Youtube and it's hard to find anything.

Interesting how NBC would see people expressing an interest in one of their shows as a detriment, something that needs to be stamped out and killed.

Some people probably don't know this:

http://www.nbc.com/Video/

Launch video player experience -> Late Night -> Conan

You can find at least a couple of hundred clips there.
