i'm so sad.. Ashley can't leave do you know if she is coming back or what??

hey all..how is everyonee...its been a while but after seeing that abbys being recast i just had to post...this "new" abby is wayy to old looking imo and i hope its just temporary...i dont think anyone can replace ashley benson or the chemistry ashley and darian have...

I agree the new Abby looks too old. I'm really worried about what this is gonna do to the Mabby pairing!

meh maybe Ashley is going away til the movie is done.. then coming back I hope Ashley comes back.. Ashley and Darin are Mabby no one can ever be Mabby accept those two..

all I can say is if Ashley leave.. honsently I don't know what will happen to Mabby I still want them to happen just with someone new? I don't think so Ashley is Abby and Darin is Max those two together make Mabby no one can replace Abby or Max..

It will definitely suck if Ashley is gone but I have watched Days so long I have seen recast after recast. So I would want Ashely to stay so I could get the original Mabby loving I envisioned. But I just want Mabby!!! I hope it can be Darin and Ashley version of it though.

Ugh, this totally SUCKS! Mabby wont be the same without Ashley.. This is such a nightmare, I'm going to miss her so much. It's like Max&Abby are ruined before they've even begun...:cries:

Now that's it's official, it's just so depressing to think about Ashley leaving and what that means for Mabby. I can't even wrap my brain around the idea to accept it. Way too sad to even think about! A big reason I LOVE Mabby so much is because of Ashley & Darin's chemistry. It just wont ever be the same...

Yeah I'm upset too but hopefully the new girl can act and have Chemistry with Darin. But in the SOD article it says that she will be on for several weeks before she does the movie. So hopefully we get to see some amazing Mabby scenes before Ashley leaves

I agree! This is just so depressing! I just dont know if I could take to another actress playing Abby for Mabby just as they are getting started. It's just so unfair because no one will ever compare to the chemistry Ashley has with Darin. It all just sucks majorly!

I do agree that its unfair that Ashley is leaving before we get some real Mabby loving. But I hope the recast is a good choice for Abby. Since the writers said that they saw Ashley in as the future of Days with Darin as Max. I want to see what the writers envisioned for Mabby. So I hope the recast has great chemistry with Darin.

But that is if they keep the recast? Because it didn't say anywhere that they are going to recast Abby.

Hello Everyone
First of all i want to start out by saying thanks to all of my supporters and everyone who has made the websites!
In October of 2004 I got the role to play Abby! I was 14 at the time and actually fibbed a little on my age and said I was 15 then they asked when my birthday was I said in Dec. they said great you will be 16 soon I got a call back and the agent said don't worry about the age if they really like you they won't care. They wanted to hire someone who was 18 or out of school .Well needless to say I got the part and they even let me have a school teacher. I was also going to be playing someone older than my real age which is rare in hollywood. I felt very fortunate to get the part and was excited to begin work!
My first day I met with the producer and they let me know the history of the character and told my Mom and I that I would be a very big part of the show. I was expecting to work alot and to have alot of different storylines to work with. I was hesitant to sign the contract at first because I just booked a Pilot for ABC so I waited to see if it would be picked up it wasn't and I figured I would be working so much on DOOL I would be busy enough with that. So I signed for 3 years.
As time went on I was not getting any storylines and had plenty of time off to do auditions. I was starting to get bored. I didn't leave school to sit around. I Love acting and wanted to be doing it everyday and become a better actress. Unfortunately it is hard to make yourself shine on screen when your not given the material to work with.
As I was auditioning I was wanted for several projects in the last two years and had to turn them down. I would get frustrated and tell DOOL if your not using me that much can I go on recurring status. The answer was NO. I know the show loved me and I'm not blaming them. All of the producers,actors, behind the scenes staff, ect. have been great to me. Unfortunately the Writers did not give my charcter any where to go I tried to be patient and wait for my character to grow.
I booked 3 movies in the begininning of March, I had to turn down 2 of them. I booked the lead role in "Bring it on 4" which will go straight to DVD. These movies have been very successful and I'm very excited about it. My dance training also helped me get the part. I had to start dancing again right away when I knew I was up for it. LOL
I haven't been dancing in years due to my acting schedule. I had high hopes I could do this one because we gave 5 weeks notice ahead of time. I have to film for 9 weeks. DOOL was not happy I would be gone 9 weeks and I asked if they could recast me until I came back that wasn't an option. I was very upset to hear this news. I decided I would have to give up the movie.
The tables turned because i fell ill and I was also emotionally upset and the producer called and asked if I would like to do the movie and be out of my contract early! I was Happy and Sad at the same time but very happy to move on. I think they understood about my lack of storyline and my future goals as an Actress. I was VERY Thankful to Steve Wyman for being so generous and kind. I will miss DOOL very much Every single person on that show was so nice to work with- actors, security guards, camera, lighting, props, make-up, hair, wardrobe, stage managers, producers, and whoever else I forgot to mention.
I know that i have a long road ahead of me and no matter what happens I'm happy to be out auditioning again. Even if I don't book anything .The thought of getting out there and just auditioning is giving me a challenge to become stronger as an actress. I'm very passionate about acting it is my goal to succeed. I hope all of you will support my decision and continue to follow me.
I will truly miss being able to do the mabby storyline! I wish Darin the best of success in the future and hope he can get a good storyline I loved working with Darin!!
My last day on DOOL is March 31st. I leave for Florida for 9 weeks on April 8th.
I will miss everyone on DOOL and wish the show continued success!

no way! this is sad truly.. I'm going to miss Ashley so I guess this means she not coming back to days even if they open the door back up for her? I hope she comes back if not best luck for Ashley..

I read that message on her board! It is sooooooooooo sad, they wouldn't give her a break to film her movie... which she had to let go of.


Then they suddenly let her go? Hmmph! She sounds like a darling about it, but I would be P*SSED OFF!

They are not recasting the role of Abby. Emily is only filling in for those couple of days Ashely was ill. That is all. There are no plans to permanently recast the role with anyone else. They will probably have Abby leave town or something.

Yeah I know that the replacement is only for the two days but the show hasn't made an announcement yet if they are going to recast the role or not. I hope they do since they said they envisioned the role of Abby as the future of Days with Darin. If there is a recast it could leave the door open for Ashley to return.

I just really wished the show would have given her the time off to do the movie. I'm going to miss Ashley. The message on her board was too sad. I wish her the best of luck in the future.

If they don't re-cast Abby I think that would just be the stupidest move on DOOL's part. They have been building the Mabby storyline up and everything and now they are just going to get rid of it that would just be so stupid. It just really seems like DOOL's doesn't even care about the fans because if they did then they would re-cast Abby. But more so if DOOL's really cared about their fans they would have said to Ashley ok go do your movie then when you're done you can come back and until she came back they would have the re-cast playing her part. But obviously they don't care about us fans. DOOL's is just becoming so rediculous right now that I am so close to not even watching it anymore. Which I really don't right now anyway. What I do right now is tape it and if Max or Abby aren't on I don't watch it because none of the other storylines interests me anymore. And now id Abby isn't going to be re-casted I am just going to watch DOOL because of Darin. But if Darin leaves for some reason (which I wouldn't be surprised because DOOL is stupid like that) then I am completely done with DOOL because there would not be any point to watching it for me anymore. The other storylines are just crap.

I totally agree. If they don't recast the role of Abby it will be a horrible mistake on their part. There are hardly any Hortons left on the show and they are the core family of the show. I've been watching Days for a long time and Mabby was one of the first couples in that made me excited about the show again in a while. I wish they would have just given her the time off to do the movie and then let her come back .But I don't want the role of Abby to leave because Darin really won't have a storyline. If the writers Willow and Max like Dustin thinks will happen on his thoughts page that might be enough to push me over the edge. I hope they recast the role of Abby and keep Mabby going just in cause Ashley changes her mind and wants to come back. I just want to see how the writer's would have written for Mabby though.

I was reading some of these posts back and it says that Abby--her portrayal Ashley Benson is leaving Days. Is that true? Is she really leaving Days or just temporarily?
What about the whole thing between Max and Abby? What's going on with that?
I've just recently became a fan of them upon seeing their scenes together. I keep tuning hoping to see them together but Abby's nowhere to be seen or Max. Where are they?

I pray to god that Ashley isn't leaving and if she is 'WHAT THE HECK'. I really don't like recast.

its true.. Ashley wanted a break to do her movie but days wouldn't let her so she ended her contract. I hope once she done with the movie she goes back to Days but right now she is doing a movie. I hope she comes back but yeah this new recast i'm not too thrilled about!
