I read "Abby's blog" over at the sony DOOL site and it sounds like Abby may be back in Salem after the summer. "Abby" said something about visiting her family in London for the summer.

Darin is supposed to get involved with the whole Chick storyline and the hairbrush. I saw some spoilers that Stephanie is supposed to flirt with Max and Nick next week. I'm not happy about that at all. So I hope that isn't true.

As for the Abby recast no word yet. I don't know if they are waiting to see if Ashley is will consider coming back after the movie and that's why they are waiting or if they are just looking over girls. I know that they want to bring her back in the fall so hopefully this summer they will tell us soon what is going on. lol Max will be in the Chick storyline till Abby comes back.
