I got money from everyone so I could upgrade to a canon rebel xt. (its a digital camera)
It is soo sweet!

I got one of those for Christmas too, but I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I don't know when I'll have a use for that nice gradually increasing volume feature...before long I'll have a baby to wake me up in a much less pleasant way!

I celebrate Christmas with my Mom's side of the family on Christmas Eve so I got 2 DVD's (Planet Terror and Hot Fuzz) and 20 bucks.

Everyone seems to have gotten great stuff from Santa!

Last night we went to my great aunt and uncle's (who don't know us well, and always give crappy gifts) and they gave my sister and I these like tacky watches or something! I swear, they must just have a closet of stuff that they take gifts from that they got at Price Club!
But they gave us money. So it's all guuud!

So I got money from everyone, my parents payed for a few things that we agreed would be 'Christmas gifts' and those were:
-Carnivale T-shirts (we've wanted those for a long time and it was quite a hassle to get them since we're in Canada, and HBO doesn't send to Canada.)
-2 Antique slips and an antique gown from the 20s-40s.

And this morning our mom gave my sister and I a box set of Swing music (which is playing now, and is awesome!) and a Ruth Etting CD we really wanted.

And my aunt and uncle gave us money and a T-shirt.

Now all that's left that would be an awesome gift would be to end this F@#%!&!!^T@ cold.

FGC, my aunt does that. I really wish she just wouldn't give us anything, because I have no use for a silver paperclip with a sleeping cat on it, or way too small socks. The best part about it is that she always buys her daughter presents to open with us and she gets her reallyyyy nice stuff.

And i'm excited because as another present I guess, they're going to get me lessons. Yay.

Well, ditto to FGC--we usually always get like the same thing, which ain't bad.

I gave my dog a plush squeaky sheep, a cookie and another treat. She is a sheepdog, so now she has a sheep--she loves it ! And I replaced my cat's toy mouse and gave her some cans--which she loves !

That sucks that you get a crappy gift, and you have to watch someone else get something nice! With my great aunt and uncle though, they give everyone crap! I'd be happy with just a card and the money, I don't need the other stuff, I'm not 6 anymore. They gave my mom and dad these like glasses to drink port with a built in straw! And my parent never drink! And my grandma, who got them 3 really nice gifts, got this ugly statuette. Next year though I think the gifts will only be given to the young people (which would be only my sister and I).

That's awesome! I love the sound harps make, it's really nice! So you know how to play the cello? That's really cool!

That settles it! We're doing New Years at YOUR house instead of ours!

From the in-laws (we stayed with them this year): Pot/pan set (really nice!), pillow cases, Mary Kay stuff, lotion/pampering set, Home Depot gift card (for both of us)...

I think that's it. I have to say... this is one of the best Christmases ever as far as receiving gifts go. I got almost everything from my list . The only thing that will carry over to my birthday or next Christmas is a Kitchenaid stand mixer. My kitchen is almost complete!

I had a very nice Christmas Of course I got movies I also got a new digital camera- a Sony Cybershot. I was really happy because my old one has been broken since May. Then I got some Bath and Body Works stuff- which is always nice. I got some cute clothes from Delias and a red coat from Forever 21. I picked out this coat about 2 months ago- and they only had 1 left at the time in my size. My mom actually went back and they still had it. I didn't think I was going to get it. I'll have to post a picture tomorrow because it's so cute. It looks like something Chuck would wear on Pushing Daisies- it's 60's style.

And last night my nana gave me a framed picture of when she met Jane Powell in Las Vegas in the 50's. I've wanted a copy of this picture for a long time.( Jane Powell was an actress in the late 40's/early 50's-she was in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers ) My nana and papa were newlyweds and had just moved to Las Vegas (my papa was in the Air Force) and as sort of a promotional for that movie- seven new brides were invited to a luncheon with her. And of course my nana was one of the brides chosen. It's a really neat picture though and it was an awesome Christmas present

That is awesome! Jane Powell is one of my favorite actresses from that era. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is also among my all time favorite movies! That is such a special gift. Lucky you!

Wedding ring - It's a beautiful thin band with 11 diamonds. My husband did an amazing job picking out exactly what I would choose for myself. After almost 4 years of marriage, it's the first time I've had a wedding ring that is truly mine. It's so special!

As always, the greatest gift of all is the fact that my life is filled with so many wonderful people. Not only did I get another year with my grandpa, but this year has also been filled with new friends. The Christmas cards filling my fireplace mantle are my favorite gifts this year. The brightly wrapped packages and bags under the tree are wonderful and fun, but the people who sent those cards mean the most to me this holiday season. It's been a bountiful year of warm friends and family.

Money, an iHome ipod dock , 2 Victoria's Secret gift cards (one from my family, one from my boyfriend's family) Elf on DVD, a page-a-day calendar of Shakespearean insults, some Victoria's Secret PJ pants, and my boyfriend got me an external hard drive to store my songs, and the special edition Harry Potter boxed set that includes all the movies so far, 2 bonus discs, bookmarks, and collector cards.

Sounds like everyone had a great Christmas! I'm glad so many of us received just what we wanted, like Scrantonbranch and her ring, Bubblewrap and her photo, and Mrs. Snooks' now nearly complete kitchen. And, Hottest, I think your new harp is awesome, too.

So far, I've received a pretty pair of earrings and an emergency radio (with weather band radio and cell phone charger!) from Mr. Ultra_Temp. Several friends added Hallmark ornaments to my collections, and I also was given a beautiful angel necklace and some great hand creme from Crabtree & Evelyn. We also got a Harry & David gift basket and the goodies are about gone. My best friend's kids sent me a Webkinz cocker spaniel because I always talk to them about their Webkinz pets.

No sign of the cowgirl boots slippers yet ... but Mom and Dad will be here soon with more nifty gifties.

I'm so haaaaappppyyy! I received the DVD of "The Office"(season 1) for Christmas. I was really surprised because I didn't deserve it, to be honest. I've been a nasty girl all year long.

I got a chritmas card with cash in it. My uncle had it and didn't give it to me for a few days.

It sounds like everyone had a great Christmas. It's so fun to read what everyone got.

First, it's great that everyone in my family is happy and healthy.

I feel like my family spoiled me way too much this Christmas. We don't exchange big gifts between the adults, but this year my dad for whatever reason decided to go all out for my sister and I. He got me an XM radio, all the accesories I need for it, a gift card to get it installed in my car, and a years subscription. I was so shocked! It's not anything I ever would have asked for myself, I just never would have thought of it in a million years, but it was such a cool surprise, and so overwhelming. He got my sister all new appliances for her kitchen, which looks so beautiful right now. The only problem is everything's so shiny and pretty, I don't think she's going to want to do any cooking in her kitchen now!

I got a lot of other really nice gifts too. My grandparents gave me giftcards to Target and Old Navy. My mom & stepdad gave me a subscription to Blueprint magazine and a gift card to Trader Joes, plus lots of pretty candles, candy and girly stuff. My sister gave me DKNY Be Delicious perfume. And from different friends I got Futurama season 1 and Extras season 2, a lot of books, and a Lomo camera (it's the Lubitel 166B, a medium format camera made in the USSR in the late 80's. I'm already in love with it, so I'm sure I'll be posting a lot of pictures in creative works.)

I know it sounds cliche, but really the best present this year was getting the time off to spend Christmas with my family. I've spent the past couple Christmases alone, and to be with them....well I just get choked up thinking about it. I was able to go to Christmas eve service with them, which was really nice. On Christmas Eve day we had a lot of fun going to the fish market to buy our Christmas dinner and then driving around the coast just for fun. We then just spent the rest of the day baking cookies and watching movies. And Christmas day was so much fun, playing with my nephew and visiting with family. It was so special, I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas.

My Best friend got home from Hawaii yesterday and today she gave me a christmas gift. They are black pearl earrings she got in Hawaii and they match my black pearl necklace I recieved for my birthday from my parents!

I took a large portrait of she and her son last semester and I bought her a huge picture frame to display it and I bought her son a fisher-price noah's ark.

The look on his face and his reactions were priceless (he's 2 and a half) "OH boy! Would you look at THAT!"

We were thinking about taking the train to Chicago - shopping, zoo, museums. I would love to get on a plane and go a little farther away, though. Wherever we go, it probably won't be until warmer weather.

Pittsburgh has shopping (marginal), zoo (marginal), museums (pretty good) and VB (priceless!).

You mentioned Phipps Conservatory the other day . . . . Their spring show every year was food for the eyes and soul.
