Apparently, I'm the only one who noticed that they didn't do a State of the Show address this year. What a shame--I always look forward to that bit, with Conan greeting and assaulting the gathered faithful, doing his impression of a Kennedy, and showing off the new characters that may or may not get highlighted and the references to the kinds of comedy that are to come in the new year. I will say that Andy Blitz's narration the past couple of years didn't do anything for me, but otherwise I see no reason to give up the State of the Show. And I always love that Conan was always, always shocked when the audience gave him a standing O whenever he grandly announced that he wouldn't be doing his usual monologue that night.

I noticed that too! I was deeply saddened at the lack of a State of the Show address. Especially since it will be the second last one ever.
I always loved the State of the Show address, the gathering of characters and Conan's presidential voice. Deeply saddened that we didnt have one this year

I miss it too. Maybe they don't have it because they're too busy with five shows a week. The writers always used to have a long weekend and come back and do it on a Tuesday.

Mr. Stacktastic informed everyone that there would be no State of the Show address this year a few weeks ago at the AST board. It's because they were on vacation the week of the State of the Union address and usually do it the same night or the night after.

And Andy Blitz's droning, PBS style narration is practically the best part. Next to Summer Colors Frankenstein and Cactus Chef, of course.

Nah I figured there wouldnt be since the break coincided with the New Years break.

Yes, indeed. A lot of people missed the State of the Show bit. I just miss Summer Colors Frankenstein because his socks are argyle
