We are thrilled to keep getting new visitors each week - welcome to the board!

In order to help us keep the board organized and easy to navigate, please do a search before posting. It is highly likely your question has been asked before and answered by our many contributing SVU fans.

How to Search
In the lower left of the Message Board, type your question or phrase in the "Enter Keywords" box. Then click the "Search Forum" button. A list of all the topics in which your keywords appear will be displayed for you to navigate. A detailed Search Engine can be used to search all the NBC boards.
  • To avoid multiple posts on the same topic, either do the search (as described above) or look beyond the first page of posts. The bottom left of the board displays links to each of the previous pages, and by clicking these links you can scan the topic names and descriptors. Please note: Any posts that are discussing the same topic will be merged. Some merged topics may have a changed title to reflect the topic better.

  • You can also search within a specific topic, rather than search the whole board. Open the topic of choice, then type your question or phrase in the "Enter Keywords" box in the lower left. Then click the "Search Topic" button.

  • If you can not find your own post, go to the upper left where it says "Logged in as: <username>" and click on your name to bring up your profile. Go to profile options on the right and from there you can search all your posts and topics. If one of your posts is missing or edited, it may not have conformed with the NBC Message Board Rules. Please review this topic when you can.

  • If a particular topic interests you, you can track the thread so that you are notified when new posts are made to it. Within the open topic, click the "Options" button. Click "Track this topic." That will bring you to your control panel and you can choose which type of email notification you prefer.
Thanks so much for your cooperation, and we look forward to getting to know you.

Those that have been here for awhile know that we attempt to keep this board about Law & Order: Special Victims Unit...not about the on-air talent, and specifically not about the on-air talent's personal lives. Just as a reminder, this board is owned by NBC/Universal and was provided to us to talk about their television shows. While we are perfectly within the guidelines to discuss the actors that work on the show, their families are not fair game. While much of the information is public knowledge, it is not fodder for discussion here. There are many boards dedicated to the actors in question, where discussing their private lives is not discouraged. We don't do it here, except in very limited, rare cases. Please abide by our collective decision to respect the privacy of Ms. Hargitay, Mr. Meloni, and the rest of the talent employed by NBC and keep it about the acting.

I will be going through the board to clean it up this weekend. I ask that you remember to keep these privacy issues in mind. Although some of the information, as I said above, is public knowledge, this is not a gossip/stalker board - it's an official network board. Please use common sense and discretion in your posts.

Thanks everyone,

We have had a rash of disrespectful posts toward our members and toward the Law & Order SVU show in general. This kind of behavior is not tolerated. We may not catch it immediately, but we do catch it. It doesn't matter how many times you change your user name, negative posts will be deleted without warning and "multiple personalities" will be banned from the entire NBC Message Board.

Please read the board rules and etiquette. If you cannot abide by these rules, you are in the wrong place.

This still seems to be an issue - and members are now being harassed via Private Message. It's been reported (again) to the Administrator, this time by ME.

In the interim, here is what we can do to make our lives easier:

If there is someone whose posts you would personally rather not read, you can do the following to set them on "ignore."

Click My Controls at the top of your screen.
On the left under Options, is a link: Manage Ignored Users.
Click this and then type in the name of the member you wish to ignore.
Click the Update Ignored Users button.

You can also block members from PM'ing you. Your PM inbox gives you this ability - simply click [block] next to the person's name.

And don't forget to keep hitting REPORT so that ill conceived messages can be deleted post-haste. smile.gif

I thought since we're coming into the final leg of the season, that an informative post about how to post spoilers and sharing information wouldn't be a bad idea.

1) If you have spoilers, make sure you post the word "SPOILER" in the thread title so people who don't want to be spoiled, won't wander in accidentally. Also, don't post what the spoiler is in the thread title.

2) If you are cross posting spoilers, please provide a link and attribution to where you found them. I don't think anyone minds having their information posted elsewhere, but be kind and let folks know where they came from and who broke it. smile.gif

3) Post the spoilers in the correct place. There are threads about each upcoming episode. Please post your spoilers there instead of creating a new thread ... unless it's for an episode that information has just been released (i.e. Season 9 eps).

4) Be respectful of each other. Discussing and debating what could be is half the fun of being on a message board, but being rude in your disagreements is not the way to do it. If you disagree vehemently with another poster and you think your words might be taken too harshly from what you intend, please refrain from posting those words, reword your comments or take it into PM.

Thanks.

Folks, I know I haven't been here as much as needed lately. But it's very important that all our new members read this. We have way too many new "fewer than 10 posts" threads clogging up the boards. What this means is people are posting topics/threads that already exist elsewhere. If a topic dies on the vine, that's a sure sign that it either exists already or could be merged with a similar topic.

Please think about it before you start a "New Topic." We have over 7 pages of topics, and there aren't many topics that haven't been covered somewhere. wink.gif Search the board before creating a new topic to be sure it is necessary. One liners or observations do not need their own threads - put your comments where they belong.

I will try to get in here and clean up the board over the next few nights. Don't be surprised to see topics merge or some disappear completely.

Thanks,

im looking for my hilarious thread and i CANT find it... where did it go?? was it deleted, why?

It was deleted to conform with copyright rules. One cannot post someone else's content from another message board. Additionally, it was fanfiction which is infringement of NBC's copyright. It's not really supposed to be done at all (though I enjoy reading them myself) but certainly can't be posted here on NBC's own boards. Sorry. smile.gif

Attention: Please do not post spoilers that come from sites other than authorized media sources such as TV Guide, NBC Universal Media Village, and other legitimate media outlets. If you do post anything from these sources you must include the source as well as a link back to the original article. The quote below is a portion of an email I received from NBCSkampy advising me on how to handle those spoilers (and pirated videos) not in compliance.

QUOTE
delete anything that links to or contains pirated NBC content, such as youtube videos of full-length episodes or extreme spoilers about future episodes. Some spoilers are ok, especially if it's for shows already aired. But future spoilers should be removed unless they are simply theoretical or guesses.

Failure to follow the board guidelines on this could result in your account being suspended and repeated violations could eventually end with your account being banned.

I appreciate your compliance with the policy.
