It seems to me that the character of Kate is hiding behind this "tough persona." I am not saying that Kate is this real "softie" but I think something occurred in her past, something painful, that she is runnig away from and wants to keep it to herself. Perhaps Kate lost her husband due to a brutal murder, lost her kids or parents.

It will be interesting to see what the writers give us on Kate as the season moves forward.

What do you guys think out there?

Peace

i think it's possible that something happened in her past that is painful

I like Kate...not in the way that I'd want to work with her or anything. There's definitely something under the Ice Queen persona. We are the way we are because of the things that have happened to us. I doubt that Kate just woke up one day and said, "I think I'll start hating everyone I meet!" In a way, she's like Jordan because she doesn't want to get close to others. They have more in common than they realize.

I also think that there's something under the ice Queen persona. Have you noticed that she seems to go out of her way to make Nigel miserable? Or am I the only one who notices that??

She drives me completely up the wall. I mean, sometimes her comments are cute with Nigel, like when he walked in with the headphones on and she said, "it's just music."

Other times, it's like, please stop being such a bi*** all the time. I'm sorry, but I don't want to watch a show being made to be such drama because of this one girl, who can't just relax for a second. Although, I did like her with the victims family during the last episode, which makes me think that something did happen. She was really sweet then.

Sam Lover,
One of our good friends has called Dr. Kate Switzer "The Anti-Jordan."
I think it is interesting to ponder that concept-like Jordan, but not...

Hey There!

Now that is an interesting thought ...Kate as the anti Jordan. I can see where that would fit in some instances. I do think that both Jordan and Kate are driven in their work, but Kate has clearly drawn the line as to what she thinks is the role and responsibility of an ME. Jordan on the other hand has never drawn that distinction (smile). I am still curious as to the backstory of Kate. I mean what has happened in this lady's life to get her to the point where we meet her, and will she be change due to her interactions with the morgue staff. Or does Kate meet the fate of all other female ME's who have dared to join the morgue (smile)?

Peace
