*********WARNING!! THIS THREAD HAS JUMPED THE SHARK!!*********
On myspace Chad has written a bulletin about how he has the night off to party with his fans. He certainly makes it sound like he'll be watching the show with everyone. Who knows if this is really Chad or just someone pretending to be him.

Hey guys,
I've been getting lots of emails asking about the party and I'm really excited to hang out with all of you.
Just to clear up some questions I've gotten a lot of today, to make things easier for you.
1. Anyone can come, friend, fan, or both.
2. The party is this Sunday.
3. You have to send me your full name so I can get you on the guest list.
We're going to have a great time. Can't wait!
Always,
Chad
My only question is how can Chad be there if he's going to be a back up dancer and will Derek be there?

The show will be 'live' at 5pm PST or something for the eastern side, so by the time it hits Cali, it's going to be two hours after the end of the actual recording, if not more (I heard AI is recorded well before EST even). So he'd have time for a party afterwards.... it seems so weird though... if anyone could confirm, I'd maybe fly out there haha. I'm sure I can get my hands on a cheap airline ticket from here.

You're already on the west coast so it'll be easier for you to get there than me.

Wait, which MySpace? I just checked his, and don't see it. Did someone open a fake one in his name?

I just added him, looks like a few ppl were just approved, so maybe I can get approved tonight still...
Weird though... that's def his space.. but would NBC even allow such a thing? It seems bizarre for one of the major contestants on an NBC reality show to just have an 'open call' for fans to come party with him?!?
derekisssexy
Feb 24 2007, 12:45 AM
Anyone around here who can confirm, or has some way to contact him or his friends/family for a confirmation? Maybe someone hijacked his MySpace lol

It's his private time so I guess he's allowed to do whatever he wants within reason. And he is, technically, advertising their show. So, if it was his idea, I can see why they wouldn't have a problem with it.
He replied to my first message but hasn't read my response to his yet so I don't think he's online anymore.

Eris: I guess one of us is going to have to call that venue and ask...
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 12:48 AM
Well, since I can't fly cross country for Chad's party...
derekisssexy
Feb 24 2007, 12:49 AM
You sure? Check united.com for efares, can get a lot of cheap deals, esp to LA, leaving tommorrow.
I could technically drive even I guess.
$240 roundtrip for me I guess is the lowest.
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 12:51 AM
Find the flight you want and then check the airline. It's usually cheaper.

I would think so

Feb 24 2007, 01:06 AM
Ok, so I just got off the phone with that venue. I checked it out, it's an actual restaurant. I asked them: Do you have anything scheduled for sunday evening, 6-10 pm or so? And he said: "Oh. you mean Chad? Yeah." So I asked: Really, so this is legit, because it sounds a little weird that he would just invite a bunch of people! And he said: "YEah, definitely, he comes here sometimes, and he's supposed to come perform on sunday". I asked him: So who arranged this event? And he said: "I think that's his mother".
So I thanked him and hung up.
So I guess it's really legit. Oh, I also asked if any other contestants will come: And he said sometimes they do.
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 01:08 AM
Sounds like fun
derekisssexy
Feb 24 2007, 01:10 AM
Decisions decisions... I have money and time to go. I'm not really a fan of Chad, but there's a chance some of the other contestants will be there. There's also a chance hudnreds of people will be there, and a quick greeting will be the most 'meeting' there'll be with Chad...
If it was Derek or Max's party, I'd have already bought a ticket by now. But if I knew for sure the others weren't showing, I wouldn't go to this one... unless someone else from these boards wants to go and make it a fun weekend? Maybe even see if we can get into the recording (I think they usually let some people in, because a lot of ppl don't claim their tickets to these things)
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 01:12 AM
I wish I could go
derekisssexy
Feb 24 2007, 01:14 AM
You sure you can't get a cheap flight and come over?
And is it just me or is it really weird that nobody else has responded to this thread yet... seems like a pretty exciting topic...
BTW: I put my fiance and myself on the guest list just in case we decide to go, before the deadline passes.
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 01:16 AM
It's too last minute and I work on Sunday. If it were NEXT weekend I might be able to swing something since next week is my birthday weekend.

I could combine it with a visit to Irvine, since I'm thinking of applying there for my PhD... make it an 'educational' trip haha.

Rub it in why don't ya
It's a six hour or more flight from here. It's already Saturday. By the time I got there I probably wouldn't have enough time to sleep off my jet lag before going to the party. And if my "husband" is there I wouldn't want to meet him looking all washed out and tired

Would you go if you were on this side of the country?
Eris
Feb 24 2007, 01:37 AM
If I lived out there I would. The cheapest flight from Philly to LAX is over $600 and the cheapest from Newark to LAX is more than $700. That's more than an poor, sweet unemployed girl can handle.

Wow yeah that's pretty bad.
I can't decide whether I should go or not :/ I'm not really a fan of Chad's, and if I knew for sure the others aren't coming, I wouldn't go. Also my fiance says he doesn't want to go, he hates LA. (And Grease haha)

Oh yeah, the show in NYC.. Depending on who wins, I wanna go see that too.
argh I just can't decide... the trip to UC Irvine is a good excuse, but still.. I could use the $300 to buy my fiance a nice gift (or get his account no longer overdrafted haha). And I can just see myself at a party with mostly his friends and family where they all know each other, and none of the other contestants there, and Chad too busy to really talk to anyone but his own family :/

Here is what I think you should do: Stay home, and save the money for a trip to NYC to see the show, no matter who wins, it'll be a fun experience.

I think that our guys are pretending to be supportive of our Grease addiction, but secretly, they loathe it. My b/f was online for 3 hrs last night after we came home from work, so it was 3 am before the comp was free, and I was so sleepy that I just went to bed.

If you get tickets for the actual tv show, save me one, I'll call in sick and use my house payment money for a plane ticket out there! Of course, we'll have to see if we can bunk at the grease house, cause I won't be able to afford a hotel room! *lol*

Mine is atleast making an effort to be supportive, he's even trying to see if we can work a trip to NYC into the budget. But guess this, yesterday (the day after I went to bed at 530 am, if you'll recall) he was supposed to get off work at 8, I get off at midnite, which would give him 4 internet hours while I'm still at work. He stays at work until I get off, and we come home and he gets straight online! Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I think he does stuff like that on purpose! *lol*
