Hey Office fans!!
We noticed you guys playing a game where someone starts a quote from The Office and then someone else has to finish it...and we thought it was an awesome idea!! So, to take it to the next level, we made it into an actual game where you can score points! So, we'd like to formally introduce you to
The Office Finish the Quote Game!!
We'll be adding new quotes to the game on an on-going basis, so feel free to submit some of your favorites! Don't forget to be sure the quote is exactly word for word as it was said on the show, include the name of the character who said it, and the name of the episode it appeared in.
After you're done playing, come back here and record your scores...a little bragging never hurt anyone!
Good luck! It's not as easy as you think! And spelling counts!

Quite fun.

I got 170/620. The correct spelling and punctuation was throwing me off.

No kidding! I'm a horrible speller- and this game does not let me forget it.
Mine's currently stuck, so I can't finish.

Great idea for a game but man is it hard. I can remember who said but not always excatly how it is worded and spelled.

The spelling and punctuation is so UNFAIR. Beeswax had to be capitalized? WHO KNEW???

Yeah, I had the same issue. I know the context and the general wording of quotes, but not exactly word for word. I recognized all of them. I'm too embarrassed to even post my score. (Actually, I've already erased it from my memory. It was so pitiful.)

220, that sucks.
It is really hard, I put "in" instead of "into" and it doesn't count. Very difficult, but fun to try to remember them all.
Great idea.

This sounds fun, but I don't feel like playing it right now. I'll try it later. From what everyone is saying, I think I might just stick to the other quote game.

290! It would've been more, but they were spelling sensitive! SNAP. This game is great, they need to change it up though...

First of all, I feel famous.
Second of all, I think my game is better (all modesty aside). I tried playing this one, but got bored about 18 quotes in. And it was hard, becasue it's hard to know when to stop quoting. I got a bunch wrong because I either went to far or not far enough. Also, I can't spell.
But I still feel famous.

am i the only one who finds it funny that the spelling/grammar is throwing every1 off in the game itself, but the syntax is wrong in the name of the thread (it should be the "official" office quotes game, not the office "official" quotes game)? It's like, who are you to make us spell correctly?!?
Yeah, I probably am the only one.

I'm sorry to go so far off topic, but I need to know... In what episode did pretzel day happen?? I have both seasons on DVD, and thought I had watched them all (several times) and don't remember seeing it.

Pretzel Day happened in The Initiation, which is a season 3 episode. I think there is a thread for random questions around here somewhere....

I did extremely bad because I kept missing or using a wrong word in the quote, but the game reminds me of just how funny this show is. BTW, has it been six weeks yet?

Mar 4 2007, 02:06 PM
Not only are they super picky, but some of the quotes aren't exactly right!
Example:
Real Quote:Fool me once, strike one. But fool me twice, strike three.
Game quote: Fool me once, strike one. Fool me twice, strike three.

I got a 335 out of 620 my first time. A little obsessive, I know...but the sad part is I should have gotten about 100 more points. Aside from the misspellings and punctuation (like in "Oklahoma!" in the 7th grade), there are quotes that are flat out wrong...
The quote game says in one: So get in your constructive criticism compliments ASAP.
The real quote is: ...get in your constructive compliments ASAP.
Etc. Overall though a fun way to waste 30 minutes at work.

LOVE the game. A few teenie issues, though.
#1. Spelling counting was somewhat understandable but since these are spoken quotes, I don't think they should automatically count as wrong for a typo.
#2. The dwight quote from "Initiation" is wrong. I'm watching it on my iPod and dwight says, "As you have planted your seed into the ground, I will plant my seed in you." The game says "I will plant my seed INTO you." =( ..i got that wrong for that. boooooo!
other than that..fun times!

i thought it was just "in" i was mad when they marked that wrong.
also there was one that needed an exclamation point instead of a period. How the heck would be know that being that it was spoken not written?

It's so wierd...the first quote I got to finish was "you look very exotic..." and I put "is your mother Vietnamese?" (NOT the correct answer, but along the same lines as the correct one), and it counted my answer as correct! That never happened again...my final score was 60. Pitiful!

I didn't do so well with the Quote game even though I am an avid fan of the show and I watch Seasons 1 & 2 over and over and over.........
The game was very strict as far as getting the quote exactly perfect.
