Last week the episode ended with Lila havina a field day in her father's car dealership...
Did it strike anyone as strange that this weeks episode had zero responce to that despite multiple scenes with Buddy and Lila?
By the way, just FYI, i loved last nights episode, it was one of the best so far.

There was no mention of her behavior. Very wierd. Maybe Buddy was to worried about the semi-finals then his daughter and her sanity.

I thought that was odd as well. Let me know what you find out.

Ya know, until you mentioned that I had forgotten all about it but you make a very valid point. She totally destroyed several vehicles and the building. Wonder why nothing was said about it? Unless he just didn't realize who had been the one to destruct it all. Maybe in next weeks episode it will be solved. I so don't like Buddy Garrity. He is someone who thinks money should buy him out of all of his "sins" and that just doens't happen when you are dealing with MORAL people.

I forgot about that too until this. That is strange. Buddy had the money to put up his banner at the football field...he bugs. Sure he's a nice guy in real life but that character is shady!

I know, i was wondering what was going to happen with that. i just figured they would have put it up on the website as a deleted scence, but to my suprise they didn't.
well there are still 2 more episodes left on the season, maybe they'll mention it then??

I, too, noticed the omission of any mention of her rampage on Daddy's car lot. My hunch is that it was probably going to be followed up on in the original script of this week's episode but probably ended up getting left on the cutting room floor (especially given everything else that was going on this week).

As I watched the show, I kept wondering when are they going to say something about what Lila did?? But I have to agree, there was so much going on in the episode, that there just wasn't enough time for it.....hopefully something will be said next week.
My family loves this show.....I am looking forward to buying the DVD Box set this summer.

I wondered where it went too but it would have taken away fromthe great story lines this week anyway. Buddy can just mention having to pay for her "episode" later on or something I guess.

My husband had to totally remind me about that. But once he did I too found it very odd that they didn't even address the situation.

We're all use to the strangeness of the Dillion timeline and continuity jumps by now. Day routinely becomes night, filthy jerseys magically become clean, then muddy again, kids skinny dip in outdoor pools in late Novemeber, the Garritys wait 6 full days after Buddy gets outed to have their dish-busting blowout. Even on a show this well written, its like when they need to make a continuity or time gaffe, they just go for it. And it usually does not bug.
But no reaction to Lyla's coming out party? This I will never understand. Tens of thousands of dollars in damage. Committed loudly, in public, in downtown Dillion. No one notices? Poor kid, what does she have to do to get some attention? Well she does know how to shoot now.
I don't think this is something you can come back to with a throw away reference. Anyway, it will be almost two weeks post demo derby next time we see them. I guess it was just meant to be exactly what we saw, a stand alone, rather heavy-handed symbol of Lyla plowing through her shattered life. But still, to have NO ONE, including Lyla herself, have any kind of reaction at all is just plain ole strange.

i completely love the show and i really hope it gets picked up for next season, to have "bones" beat it in ratings blows my mind. anyway i think they should of scraped lyla's crash sequence it seemed kinda random, the airbags didnt deploy and the alarms didnt go off in the process. Cant wait for next week though BEST SHOW ON TV

I'm so glad I'm not the only one scratching my head about Lyla's little rampage. The whole timeline/continuity also bothered me. I had never noticed the problems before, but had just finished watching the previous episode earlier that day from tape. It was all very fresh. I wonder if they'll address it or just glaze over the situation. Time will tell.

Thing is, there is no time. 2 eps left, and they are going to be packed to the gills with story resolutions and the state championship game. A passing reference would be all they would have time for, and in this case, I think just a throwaway line would be almost worse than not addressing it at all.
I'm thinking this is just going to go down as a story decision most of the viewers will just not understand, me included.

Even great shows are not exempt from poor editing. I assume since the show won't be renewed (it's lost almost half of its audience) they don't care anymore if certain things don't make sense since only 2 episodes remain. (Commercial said "FINAL 2 EPISODES" during Wednesdays show). Oh well, there's always GREYS ANATOMY & HEROES if one desires good TV.

To my knowledge, there has been no official announcement on whether or not the show will or will not be canceled. I enjoy good tv and FNL is on my list along with Grey's. Sticking to the topic, I'm not sure why they appear to have ignored Lila's destruction. My guess is that they will wrap it up in the last two episodes of this season.

I noticed that her "episode" had been dropped without mention. I think it's more than just this one episode, though: her character hasn't quite "fit in" since the end of the affair with Riggins. She started out as a character with interesting psychological nuances that cried out to be explored: for instance, her super-smiling Pollyana attitude in the first couple of episodes was never really brought to a resolution. Instead, she has become a stock "bitchy-girlfriend" character, straight out of 90210. IMO, her character has been the one weak point in the writing of the past several episodes.

I agree with the dismay and confusion about her mini-car wreck fest but as to her development of character - I have to disagree with you friscodog. She is evolving amazingly - her unswerving optimism and blind hope and infallibility is slwoly eroding and now more than ever Lyla is being more honest and real.

This issue will be dealt with in the season's finale.
I believe in the plot line that no one knows who is responsible for the damage at this point and it has not been relative in the last couple of episodes.
It could be a part of the cliff hangers that will be in next week's finale.
And the show will be renewed.
Trust me.

When they say "no one knows" I hope they are referring to the "public" at large...
I mean her finger prints are all over that car that she left parked halfway in the dealership front doors.
I hope the Dillon police force is a
little more competent than that.
lol
Not to mention any security cameras that they must have...
I just wrote off the ommission of the event in the next episode as an act of "teen rebellion" and the family just sweeping the whole incident under the rug and since it was Lyla , certainly, did not involve the police.
In her frame of mind that night , I could even picture Lyla going home and telling dad " I just %&*@-ed up your car dealership you cheating B@#$%^*!! "
So if they go back to this topic in the finale - that will be interesting - I just hope they don't make it into a big "who dunnit" mystery.

Didn't any of you catch it? Where do you think the money in the envelopes came from? It's the insurance money Buddy Garrity got when he reported the damage and filed a claim. He had some extra left over, so he used it to pay off Matt Saracen and get some sponsorships from the ones he lost.
I'm totally kidding, but at least its a "coulda maybe happened in Dillon."

I mentioned that to my husband. I noticed at the end of this weeks episode that the subject of Lyla's rampage had not be really talked about. I hope they cover it in the finale. I like Lyla and her character seems to be going through some big changes which are interesting.

I would have loved a story line of Garrity making a police report at the dealership, and they review some security tapes, and they realize it's Lila....that would slap him in the face with humiliation!!!
