^^ yes stapler!!! I put that all into my JP and PD post!

Karen is a big hint tonight about JAM!! I though tthis was a huge episode and I do not know why so many people are complaining are whining and saying how it was bad...

I just dont get some people
EverybodyHurts
I totally agree with your entire post StaplerinJello! The jellybean scene was awesome.."you spent hours and hours and hours for YEARS" I love you Kevin!

The entire parking lot scene was all Jim and Pam. You'd think Karen would want to stand next to her "awesome" boyfriend. You don't see them until the last scene when Michael is coming down off of the roof, and Jim is in between Pam and Karen.
Pam_Halpert_1
yes you two!!!! I am sooo happy others see that!!

The writers are taking the " back door" approach and it is awesome!! They are all little baby steps that add up!!

that is the office we know and love!!
queenofengland
I agree stapler! Karen's not all that evil (I guess) just the third wheel. I was totally expecting more angryJim! this episode, but to see him breaking a little bit was awesome.

Oh, BTW, I'm west coast so I knew to completely avoid this thread alltogether until I saw the show, but I kept seeing it at the top of the list so I was a bit worried that everyone was in "therapy". I'm so glad I was wrong!

Okay, time to go watch it again....
Beeswax_Not_Yours_Inc.
Ok, I now know I am Office crazy.

I stayed up so late that I watched the west coast feed. So, I have watched this ep 3 times in one night.

Wow.

That being said, I just cannot get over shiny, happy Jim. Stapler, you are right, this ep is sooo S2.

I'm sure there is going to be some cringy, messy JAM moments to come, but for now, I will post this song to reflect the sunny Dunder Mifflin parking lot

Walking on Sunshine-Katrina and the Waves

I used to think maybe you loved me now baby I'm sure
And I just cant wait till the day when you knock on my door
Now everytime I go for the mailbox , gotta hold myself down
Cos I just wait till you write me your coming around

I'm walking on sunshine , wooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
and don't it feel good!!

Hey , alright now
and dont it feel good!!
hey yeh

I used to think maybe you loved me, now I know that its true
and I don't want to spend all my life , just in waiting for you
now I don't want u back for the weekend
not back for a day , no no no
I said baby I just want you back and I want you to stay

woah yeh!
I'm walking on sunshine , wooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
I'm walking on sunshine, woooah
and don't it feel good!!

Hey , alright now
and don't it feel good!!
hey yeh ,oh yeh
and don't it feel good!!

walking on sunshine
walking on sunshine

I feel the love,I feel the love, I feel the love that's really real
I feel the love, I feel the love, I feel the love that's really real

I'm on sunshine baby oh
I'm on sunshine baby oh

I'm walking on sunshine wooah
I'm walking on sunshine wooah
I'm walking on sunshine wooah

and don't it feel good!!
I'll say it again now
and don't it feel good!!

Ok so did anyone see the look that Karen gave Darryl? They were talking about it on the sticky thread. It makes me feel very happy to think that maybe she likes him or that soemthing could be going on there. Maybe then, I could accept her.

I just watched it again and when Jim and Pam run over to the moon bounce. He is looking at her and smiling the whole time, until she notices that Michael is probably going to jump onto it. Man, a few more seconds and he may have asked her if she wanted to jump on it. Ughhh, stupid Michael.

Yah, I'm not sure what that look was about. I don't think it was a look of love. Not sure.

The bouncy castle scene I think is my new S3 fave JAM scene. I know, JAM scenes are few and far between, but I haven't seen that much joy in Jim since the bar scene in PW. Dreamy.
queenofengland
I dont think it was a look of love either, or a clue of things to come. If so, then our beloved writers have been removed and replaced with soap-opera writers.

I sometimes wonder if the looks that are caught on camera are just the background actor's natural reactions to each other, when the action is focused somewhere else. I'm not accusing anyone of bad acting or breaking character, just...hm, I dont know. Am I the only one? I guess I'll have to go watch it again....
Pam_Halpert_1
Jim's joy just grew leps and bounds this episode which shows just how much of an affect Pam has on Jim...

Like I said Jim has no idea what is about to hit him.. and when he sees it coming he will suddenly notice he has not wall.. and his sheild has walked away!!

Guys my JAM fire is stronger than ever I can not contian the excitment that I feel right now!!

Isn't Darryl married? (not that that's stopped Karen before wink.gif Kidding) He at least has a daughter, I think. I need to watch it again to see the look people are talking about, but I would say Karen might feel a connection (not a love connection, just a friendly connection) because Darryl feels the same way about Michael she does, and he mocks Michael in a way Karen might secretly wish she could. Likewise, Jim and Pam both care about Michael (as much as they've teased him), and when they realized that Michael really was going to try to jump onto the castle, they quickly teamed up to stop him.

I can hardly wait to see how this all unfolds!!!!

The sky is blue, the grass is green, the earth still spins 'round the sun.....and Jim still loves Pam. wub.gif wink.gif tongue.gif

Just look at the way he looks at her. He accepted her apology, for real, probably after some consideration. And so, all it takes is a peace treaty for the looks of longing to return.....he can't help himself. He loves her just because he loves her.

Yeah! You all said what I was thinking - there is nothing better than the whole office in on shananigans. It was so S2 and had the feel of Office Olympics. The switcheroo on Creed by Pam and Jim was so seamless, just like it should be. The best was Jim staring at Pam by the castle with a smile on his face, a look that lasted forever. I also agree that he didn't seem that embarassed by Kevin's remarks over the jelly bean count. And Karen's TH definitely portended the future - she gets that she does not click there.

I am very encouraged.

I love your poetry skills... Ya I'm starting to think the look karen gave darryl was nothing, now that I've watched it a few more times.
All that matters is the looks that Jim has been giving Pam..GAWWWD! The camera was on both of them for basically the WHOLE PLoD scene!

This week, it was soooo like Office Olympics. I'm thinking of the looks Jim and Pam gave each other in the "closing ceremonies" in Office Olympics. Now, if you can, pleeeease re-watch the discovery of the bouncy castle scene. Look at Jim's face. Shiny happy Jim. If you've been reading the PD or JP threads, we've talked about how Jim will catch Pam being her usual caring, adorable self. Pam trying to get Michael to come down by offering him a present? That's his old Pam. That's the Pam he fell in love with.

Also, tell me the past wasn't running through his head when Kev called him on knowing how many jellybeans were in Pam's dish because he spent "hours and hours for years" at reception. He looked a little embarassed, but there was a bit of warm fuzzy memories there.

This ep was a lot of fun and is a sign of good things to come. Did you notice that California sunshine in the parking lot? That's a sign of sunny times to come!

Oh sun!!! There might be a few more clouds.. but that sun was sooooo nice ( we HAVE a sunny episode now!!!)

He has forgiven her.. and he saw FNB out and not holding back...Jim knows that Roy is gone, Old Pam is gone....and there is this new awesome Pam standing in front of him... how could ne not notice that she is the Pam he fell in love with!! Sigh

You guys are all making me so happy wink.gif!! His Heart won over his Head this time!! That HUGE smile was his heart being so excited that it won!!! Poor Jim has no idea what is coming, and I like it!!! wink.gif

Can we really call it the PLoD after this episode HAHA.. it is funny that both times in teh parking lot Jim noticed that he "loves/has feelings" for Pam.... Lets move his desk out there!!!!

I didn't know where else to post this, so JAM therepy is probably the best place. First, I just want to point out how pretty Pam looked in last night's episode. She had her FNB glow going strong and it was such a difference from last week when she looked so haggard and stressed.

Okay, here's the shallow me talking now. I can't get past Jim's wig!!! It just looks terrible and so un-Jim like. If you look at him in S1 and S2 and even the first part of S3, his hair just goes so well with his personality. That messy, moppy, bed-head casual, sexy hair is just so him, I don't feel like I am looking at the same guy now and it's making me cringe!

Someone on another thread said that he can't even tousle it which is a signature Jim-in-deep-thought move. And it was also brought up that Pam won't be able to run her fingers through it when they-ahem-finally KISS!

Okay, I feel just terrrrrible for saying all this, but I had to get it off my chest. Please forgive me Jim!! unsure.gif
charlotte_sofia
I agree! Jim needs to fire his hairdresser and bring the old one back!

It looks to me like Jim and Pam are becoming a lot more comfortable with eachother again and this makes me happy but I definitely don't think Karen will let Jim go without a fight (non-physical). I think Karen is going to start acting a lot more colder towards Pam, especially since Jim is warming up to her.
verygood
Yay, Jim and Pam! I had warm fuzzies throughout the episode. I would wager that they didn't have to have a huge apology acceptance scene because as we see over and over, their connection is undeniable. Lots of smiles and lots of shared glances. I think we all needed that!

Don't feel bad, OO, everyone thinks that!!! Sorry, but his hair makes him cuter. I don't feel bad b/c it's that stupid wig b/c of that movie he's making, which I'm excited about, but why couldn't they have taped in the summer! dry.gif

As much as I loved the mop, I wouldn't mind seeing it change. He could easily become more clean-cut as he advances further up the corporate ladder. It may actually make a sort of funny episode if they wrote it into the story-line. "Jim's New Do"

I dunno guys....I don't have the ability to watch the episode again....but where are you finding all these happy JAM looks? Maybe I just wasn't paying attention....does anyone have any screen caps?

Although I really loved the "break" from the ugly JAM-ness of the past few episodes, I really am looking forward to them clearing the air, which may or may not happen.

I hope to find some screen caps of that soon, too!

I found much jamminess to be thankful for last night. It felt like old times. The universe felt semi-normal again and all the people saying the episode was not as good or whatever need to watch it again. I laughed the first time, howled the second and they killed me the third. LOVED IT!

I don't see how people can say this episode wasn't that funny. I mean, Michael was going to throw himself off the building for gawd's sake!!! It doesn't get much funnier than that. I also LOVED IT!

Well, since I'm still on my JAM babyspoonful high from last night, I have a homework assignment this group.

To bring out the full sweetness of the JAM we saw last night, your required viewing tonight is as following:

Office Olympics
The Fire
The Client
Safety Training

All of these episodes feature Jim and Pam fun and frolic within the folds of the Dunder Mifflin gang. Soak up the excitement of Flonkerton. Make your own "Who would you do?" list. Enjoy a movie, dinner and dancing. See how bouncy castles make Jim smile.

What else could you want for a Friday night?

I'll be back later after I've done my viewing homework.

I couldn't pause it at the exact right moments, but these are some decent shots of them.

Jim was smiling in this one, but then he realized that Michael was going to jump off the roof, hence the strange look on his face.

Jim and Pam betting that Michael's rant about suicide was fake.

When Michael said that the sex with Jan isn't as good as it used to be.

Jim and Pam coaxing Michael not to jump.

I love the homework idea Beeswax! I can't play along tonight (I'm recruiting a new flan so I don't have my DVDs), but just thinking about those happy days made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Anways, I think homework will help tremendously over the summer. Can we all do something like this when the speculation over the finale starts to die down?

Looks like it is surely worth a re-watch....thanks stapler in jello for rekindling my JAM optimism....

I'm so impressed that all of you have lives! What's that like?

I, sadly, do not. I got the kids off to bed and me and the hubby did our homework.

I HIGHLY recommend watching these 4 eps in a row. It's as if the awkward cringey JAM moments never happened. It's also great seeing the whole Dunder Mifflin team pull together.

This assignment is not required for tonight. Whenever you have a couple of hours to spare and you want some Office joy, give yourself the treat of this mini-marathon.

As thrilled as I am with this, I am very curious as to why Karen didn't stake her spot at Jim's side the second they walked outside. I'm just questioning Karen's motives. Is this a sign she's giving up to the inevitable?

Isn't Darryl married? (not that that's stopped Karen before wink.gif Kidding) He at least has a daughter, I think. I need to watch it again to see the look people are talking about, but I would say Karen might feel a connection (not a love connection, just a friendly connection) because Darryl feels the same way about Michael she does, and he mocks Michael in a way Karen might secretly wish she could. Likewise, Jim and Pam both care about Michael (as much as they've teased him), and when they realized that Michael really was going to try to jump onto the castle, they quickly teamed up to stop him.

Hi ladama. I think Karen genuinely dislikes Michael. I think Darry actually likes "Mike", regardless of the fact that he thinks he's a buffoon. Just my opinion.

**sigh** biggrin.gif

Nothing short of beautiful Recorderalways!

The speculation dies down?

laugh.gif Yeah, I guess I should have phrased that differently! So how about: we'll need the homework as a temporary distraction after we've watched the finale 200 times, analyzed every second, and explored every possibility for season 4. I shouldn't have made that so nebulose.

I posted this over in the Safety Training post, but I'm going to go ahead and repost it here....

I just rewatched and there was more Jim/Pam moments in this episode that in any of the episode since The Return.

1) The most obvious. Kevin's comment that Jim has spent 'hours and hours..like constantly..for years' at Pam's desk.

2) Jim and Pam won most of the bets. (Ok, that probably doesn't meant anything but I love any connection I can make between them.)

3) Jim and Pam are the ones that set up the Creed/Potato bet (see disclaimer above).

4) Jim chooses to stand next to Pam outside (for the entire time).

5) "What are the odds that this is for any way real?" "I'd say 10,000 to 1."

6) Jim and Pam are the first ones to run to the castle.

7) This is my favorite...while standing in front of the castle Jim is staring at Pam and smiling the whole time.

8) Jim and Pam are the first ones that try to talk Michael down.

9) Jim and Pam's smile after Pam tells Michael she got a present for him.

10) Jim and Pam's look after Michael says 'The sex isn't as good as it use to be.'

11) Jim and Pam both laughing at Darryl calling Michael brave because he has to be himself everyday.

Like I said... a lot of these are iffy but I'll take Jam anyway I can get them.

Also, for those Jim/Karen haters...

1) The only time Jim/Karen spoke was when Jim and Kevin yelled at Karen for betting '51'.

2) Karen is not fitting into the office very well.

3) That 'look' between Karen and Darryl. (Now, that might have been nothing, actually it probably was nothing, but as a Jam fan who doesn't hate Karen and actually kind of likes her most of the time, and would LOVE for her and Pam to be firends even though I know that will probably never happen.... I would love for her to hook up with Darryl. For a while, I was thinking Karen/Toby, but I couldn't make it work even in my head. But Karen/Darryl....could really work. I like it. Plus, I think it's interesting that Darryl has been getting A LOT more airtime recently...coincidence???)

So, in conclusion, we got...1) a lot of positive JAM interaction, 2) a JAM-positive comment from Kevin, 3) almost no Jim/Karen interaction, 4) SO many great one-liners and funny moments..I can't even pick a favorite. So, all in all...not a bad episode.

errr...sorry for all the run-on sentences.

Thanks for breaking down the JAM moments, loveanyway!

To an everyday Office viewer, the moments between Jim and Pam in ST would not be that big of a deal. But to us rabid JAM viewers, ST was JAM gold! Especially after the long cold lonely winter we've had. Ooooo, that puts me in mind of a song:

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
and I say it's all right

Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say it's all right
It's all right

I couldn't pause it at the exact right moments, but these are some decent shots of them.

Jim and Pam betting that Michael's rant about suicide was fake.

Thanks stapler in jello! This one is my favorite! I just love the way they are looking at each other tongue.gif And notice Kevin watching Jim, he's hip to what's happening between them!
Cathyg
I think Kevin is hip to a lot more of the office vibe than most would give him credit for. I also think he really likes Jim (geez, he did give him the secret hiding spot of his jelly beans, and surely that means a lot) and distrusts Karen. (hooray for our side)
Did you see the deleted scene with him and Andy/Drew in the breakroom of despair? Don't know who was funnier, scared Kevin or 10 step program Andy. However, one last note on Kevin; his facial expressions are pretty much the exact same regardless of the corresponding emotion. All of his acting is with his mouth. Don't know the significance of that, but it seems pretty different. And totally as effective. Okay, I'm looking at my watch and my time to ramble is over....

I definitely agree about Kevin, he may not be the sharpest employee, but I think he has a pretty good feel for what goes on in the office. Absolutely fantastic actor, too. As you mentioned, part of his character is to be emotionless and apathetic, so he has to do all his acting with his mouth and he pulls it off flawlessly.

Kevin and Phyllis are very intune to what is going on JAM wise. A few more awkward comments from Kevin and we may very well have a JAM happy season finale on our hands!

Also, anyone find any new fanvids? I'm obsessed but I can never find any new ones.

Here's our permanent replay list so far:

Casino Night Kiss
27 seconds of silence
The "nap-o-love"
"Hey", "Hi"

I want to also add one of the times Jim is leaning over Pam's desk and she's playing Solitaire. He gives her advice about the game and she says she loves it when the cards go "ph-ph-ph-lllllp" and Jim says "Who doesn't love that".

I think there is something so intimate about that moment.

Hey, newbie here! I love that there's a place that Jammers can "congregate"! Can I just add that while the CN kiss is over the moon swoon worthy, I absolutely love the scene that led up to it!! I love Jam, but Jim is my main love in this pairing, so his confession that night is the replay scene for me. After his "I'm in love with you", I vaguely recall sitting straight up, moving to the edge of the couch, clutching my hand to my mouth (all the while my eyes brimming w/tears), gasping for breath and then really not breathing through that entire scene! It was so breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. Sigh.....
I have total faith that these two will be together in the end.

I'd also like to add to the UGH factor regarding Jim's hair!! It is so distracting for me!! And when can he wear another colored shirt!! He looks so nice in the blue oxford. Maybe it's just at the cleaners.

And whoever suggested a finale involving Karen walking in on an intimate moment between Jim and Pam, I can totally see that happening!

Love the Jam mvids!! I was so excited when I saw the link to one that was done to the "Brighter than Sunshine" song by Aqualung!! I love that song and it's so Jim and Pam!

I really liked this last episode! I love when their is office integration throughout an eppy. And I thought so much of it was just hysterical.

So one more thing. I have a song on my IPOD that I've had for a few years and I really like it. It is called "Did You Ever Love Somebody" by Jessica Simpson. I think maybe it was part of "Dawson's Creek"? Not a big JS fan, but stumbled across it one day and decided to add it to my reportoire. Anyways, here are the lyrics. (Kinda a song from Pam's POV-of course she knows how Jim feels (or in her mind, at least "felt"-but we know still "feels" about her), but he certainly can't put a label on her feelings for him!!)

"Did You Ever Love Somebody"

Did you ever love somebody?
So much that the earth moved
Did you ever love somebody?
Even though it hurt to
Did you ever love somebody?
Nothing else your heart could do
Did you ever love somebody?
Who never knew
Did you ever lay your head down
On the shoulder of a good friend
And then had to look away somehow
Had to hide the way you felt for them
Have you ever prayed the day would come
You'd hear them say they feel it too
Did you ever love someone?
Who never knew
I do.
And if you did
Well you know I'd understand
I could, I would
More than anybody can
Did you ever love somebody?
So much that the earth moved
Did you ever love somebody?
Even though it hurt to
Did you ever love somebody?
Nothing else your heart could do
Did you ever love somebody?
Like I love you
Like I love you
Like I love you

smile.gif

(Ok, now I'm editing to add that maybe the scene that lead up to the kiss is included in the Casino Night Kiss for everybody? In any case, I just had to declare my love for that scene!)

Welcome aboard, JimFanFirst! This is the perfect place for a Jammer to be.

I had to bold that part of the song you posted. Perfection!

Oh, and I think one of the most amazing Jim moments was his eyes getting teary when Pam said "I can't". John made that moment incredible.

I will match your Jessica song with a song from her boyfriend, John Mayer. I'm going to see him in Toronto on Tuesday and I've been playing his stuff non-stop.

Back to you- John Mayer

Back to you
It always comes around
Back to you
I tried to forget you
I tried to stay away
But it's too late

Over you
I'm never over
Over you
Something about you
It's just the way you move
The way you move me

I'm so good at forgetting
And I quit every game I play
But forgive me, love
I can't turn and walk away

Back to you
It always comes around
Back to you
I walk with your shadow
I'm sleeping in my bed
With your silhouette

should have smiled in that picture
If it's the last that I'll see of you
It's the least that you
Could not do

Leave the light on,
I'll never give up on you,
Leave the light on,
For me too, for me too

Back to me
I know that it comes
Back to me
Doesn't it scare you
Your will is not as strong
As it used to be
