Good morning all. biggrin.gif I received some good news yesterday which is great for my family and also gives me hope for JAM. My brother and his ex-wife are getting back together, after 6 years and her being remarried. ohmy.gif It is amazing and shocking and I'm not sure exactly how it all happened yet, but I mean if that can happen, then JAM can happen!! Against All Odds!! Which was a great vid, thanks Beewax for the link. I loved all the looks and smiles between James and Pamela. Just fabulous. biggrin.gif

Wow that is great! True Love. *sigh*

Last night here on the boards was a lot of fun. Speculation speeches. Well I didn't really write one but others did. Just so all the spoiler AA people know: If you have seen the main page promo, then it should be okay for you to read the spoiler bars from last night.

I think Jules needs to get a patent on His Cheeseburger as an antidepressant, because it never fails in cheering me up. She could make millions! And get rid of all that duct tape.

I'm sorry I went to bed last night. There was still lots of fun to be had! I have no idea what to expect on Thursday, I just hope it puts us out of our misery!

Guys, nice specs on the Pam speech last night. Wish I hadn't done to bed so early so I could have participated. I might still come up with one. . . . its all I can think about anyway.

Here's mine:

"I've been trying to be more honest lately and I just need to say a few things. First of all, this has been one of the hardest years of my life. I made a lot of mistakes and as a result, I hurt people I really care about. Well, I especially hurt one person I really care about. (She does not address Jim personally, but stares at him while making this speech. He gives her "the look" wub.gif ) I just want to make it clear that if I could go back and undo these mistakes I would. I was scared and confused and I really made a mess of things. I hope it's not too late because I want more than that."

*sigh* I have to go to sleep now 'cuz I'm totally emotionally drained. huh.gif

OfficeObsessed, this is perfect! I'm not even going to do my own, because you said it just right. Jim would know what she was saying, Karen might suspect, some other people in the office would maybe suspect a little but they wouldn't get it. Kudos to you!

Awww thanks. I'm not getting my hopes up for something like this, but I sure hope Pam gets the point across somehow!

^ My thoughts exactly Beeswax! That would be so exciting to watch the beginnings of their relationship and everything afterwards (and I mean *everything* wink.gif ). I'd love it if they took it a step further than the UK series went.

I just have to say that one of the biggest reasons I'm so excited for Thursday is so that afterwards I can finally uncover all those spoiler/spec bars! I can't wait to see that you guys were right all along.

I am very curious about those spoiler bars, but yes, I will wait. I just don't want to get a scenario in my head and then be disappointed. I already have a million of them floating around in my head, but that's all they are doing, floating. I'm sure the writers have something very exciting in store for us on Thursday.

Eeeek! It feels like we're waiting for Christmas morning! 2 more days!!!!!
Pam_Halpert_1
I have all the motivation in the world to write a long thing about Jim's shirt color and why it matters. I also have all the motivation to answer the QTP's and write fanfic

The one thing I have NO motivation on is typing my essays for my exam tomorrow

I think my prioites need to be switched. Sigh. On a positive note I got both of my exam moved to tomorrow so I get one less day of school!!! and one more day of freedom to do everything office, that I have wanted to do for a month!

Yes, that is exactly what it is like!! Waiting for Thursday is just like waiting for Christmas! Hopefully the writers have wrapped the presents in newspaper (so they don't appear all shiny and pretty) but then placed inside the present we have been waiting for all year!!! I don't want a pretty package with a crummy present. I want crummy packaging to throw us off the fact that the present is SUPER AWESOME!!! I don't want to have to throw a temper tantrum come Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you're saying...I work from home and set my own hours so usually I work while the rest of the house is asleep...but I find that these days I am obsessing about The Office and doing less and less work and more and more reading and obsessing and writing about Jim and Pam and ponytails and baseball caps . Pam, I'm dying to hear what you think about Jim's shirt colors! I never thought I'd buy into it, but I'm really starting to think it's a clue something significant. You'll have a whole summer, though, to completely analyze it and create some awesome fanfic. In the mean time, you could always make Thursday come a little faster if, perhaps, another little wager was made... (hint, hint wink.gif )

It enables my obsession/addiction to a very scary degree! I can't seem to take my mind off the look on Jim's face, smile on Pam's face, ponytails and baseball caps either!

Oh It is on!! Do you want the same bets we made after WA??

I will share with you guys my rough draft of my "paper" you can give suggestions and such!! I am very excited to do this!!

I have a couple of theories about this Blue shirt mystery. ( This also includes his out of office attire as well)

1. Every time Jim wears blue the plot line for Jam moves
2. When Jim wears blue he has the personality of Scranton/pranking/happy Jim/more open Jim
3. When he wears white Jim is more Stamford closed off Jim
4. Jim looks the best when he is in blue so we like him that much more
5. When Jim wears Blue it is a positive episode in terms of growth for him.

Some smaller theories are

1. when Jim keeps his Jacket on he is more closed off
2. When Jim has his sleeves rolled up he is more open
3. When Jim has on an off white or yellow shirt the jam plot line stays the same
( any other theories that I might of left out please fell free to tell me!!)

There will be a Scranton part and a Stamford part and then I will compare! I also will go from episode to episode i hope ( I am thinking I am going to do season 3 first) and post a little bit of that!!

See, if there was an Office 101!! I would sooo Ace it!!

I love the whole present wraped in newspaper ( but just remember this episode could be the newspaper, and the next one be the awesome gift!!) But still!!! I am very excited no matter what happens!!

I am really glad someone else out there has the same problem I do...and yes, I am on the computer most of the work I do too, so it is extra easy to get sidetracked!! If only my job was tracking the Jim/Pam developments and what color shirt Jim is wearing...I would be in heaven. I must admit I have been staring at your signature for the last five minutes. Five minutes of my time gone, poof!! But oh what a great five minutes it was!!!

Oh.. now this is bad!.. I was put in the BIG testing room ( alone)which also has a computer. And in the middle of my exam, I got on the computer to check the boards because I needed a break!

Yeah for Pam Halpert!!! (again, I type out the full name because I like the way it looks, sounds and feels to my fingers!)

The Office should definately be an hour long show...see how it helps...Pam Halpert got an A!! If that isn't a reason for the show to be an hour, then I don't know what is!

To those of you who haven't watched the promo or peeked behind the spoiler bars: Don't even be tempted. It's not worth it. You will be a much more peaceful JAMmer if you stay completely unspoiled.

To those of you who did watch it or peeked: OMG OMG OMG! HELP ME! I don't think I've EVER been in this much JAM angst. I am serious. All I think about is what Pam is going to say & what Jim is going to do. I am so worried. I'm trying to rationally think it through by telling myself that TPTB wouldn't give us a whole season's worth of crap & end it that way, but who knows?! I'm worried that we all think we KNOW what's going to happen & TPTB won't want that, so they're going to pull something out of left field. Someone please help me...

I definitely have the same feeling as Christmas morning - back when I was 6yo too - not the 'adult' Cmas feeling.

I am feeling the same JAM angst FNOR!! I keep watching that d*mn promo over and over and over and over trying to figure out possible scenarios. It's making me absolutely insane!! They have definitely spliced the clips together and so I think what Pam is saying when we see her face is not the same thing Jim is listening to when she has her back to us. But the look on his face!!!!!!! OMG I can't get it out of my head. I think TPTB are seriously messing with us. Whatever it is she tells him (if she tells him anything at all) it is clearly having some sort of impact b/c his eyes are just....OMG! He hasn't looked at her that way since when he was dancing with Karen and staring at her in PW. I wish I had never seen the promo b/c it is occupying my thoughts WAY too much, but on the other hand....WOW! After what TPTB are putting us through, there better be a hot, sexy JAM kiss by the end of the season!

Yeah, if you still want to stand by yours. I guess I'll just have to trust you that what you've seen hasn't given you an advantage. wink.gif
If it's okay with you, I think Sharpie wants in on the bet too. I'll ask her if she wants in on one of our predictions or if she has one of her own. And do we need Beeswax to mediate and set the terms again?

Those are great observations, I can't wait to see them fleshed out. I have a feeling this finale is going to be so amazing we're going to need everything we can to get us through a long summer!
VampyraBat
Ever since I got hooked on The Office way back in Season 1, I've always maintained that I am more interested in the show's broader structure (the comedic timing, the ensemble cast, the writing, the mockumentary style, etc) and that the JAM situation was not what motivated me to tune in every week. I've been a bit of a snob in this regarding--looking down on those who are only pining & rooting for JAM.

But you know what? I've been deluding myself. That hapless/hopeless romantic in me wants and needs JAM to be fully realized. And, as unlady-like as it sounds, I'm tired of the writers dicking us around with the push-pull of "will they? or won't they?" I want some JAM on JAM action and I want it pronto.

So, I'm throwing down the gauntlet. Either they end up together or I'm done. I can't take the stress and angst and turmoil this TV relationship is having on my mental and physical well-being. Yeppers, DONE.

First off, Pam -- glad to hear you've got your notecards laid out for your term paper on The Fashionable Halpert: How Wearing the Color Blue Keeps Jim from Being Blue (The Jim and Pam Story) by Pam Halpert and Everyone Else. Here's my only note so far -- stay away from analyzing white/cream/yellow shirts. Stick to the blue. Otherwise your theory will get blown. Just the blue! (And any and all sweaters - yum!).

I have a question for those of you who watched the promo: Do you really feel "spoiled" at this point? I mean, I read and watched every spoiler I could during the hiatus, and found myself terribly spoiled for TN, ST, PR and WA. I hated it. So far, the promo and a few pics are all I have been exposed to for BG -- it seems like a lot less information than what was out for the other eps. So, do you think you will be disappointed that you watched? After all, its only about 6 seconds of a 40 minute episode. I think that all the speculation is what is going to kill me. Thinking one thing will happen, only to be blasted with something totally different. That and the anxious anticipation for that particular scene which we all know has to happen near then end of the ep because its nighttime will wreck the rest of the episode for me. Thoughts?

And for those of you who work from home and find yourself doing nothing for work and hanging out here too much- --- I feel you. I quit working in feb, but kept on at my company doing a few things from home, and I have totally slacked on all of it. I thought I would have plenty of time since I used to work 20 hours a week from home. Now I can't push out a measly four hours a week worth of work. Its pathetic. And I am the head of a book club, and I havent read one of our books since getting hooked on fanfic in March. I am going to have to kick myself out.
Beeswax_Not_Yours_Inc.
Ok, so Queen and Pam Halpert, what exactly are you wagering on here? Proving the theory of the blue shirts? Or that Jim will be wearing blue in the next ep?

You two are as bad as Kevin!

I will gladly mediate on your wager. I am the Health & Safety Officer for Spoiler AA, after all. I want to keep everyone happy and safe.

Welcome to the sharing circle, VampyraBat! I just love your avatar pic. I laughed out loud when I saw it. That crazy American Idol girl makes me laugh with her tears.

Being a Jammer is not for the faint-of-heart. It takes patience, determination and gumption. But, our day will come. I really have high hopes for the season finale. I know logically, as a Jammer, having high hopes is detrimental, but I just can't help it! We've never seen Pam as FNB before. As much as Jim may be in shock if she lays it on the line, FNB's power will take over Jim.

Don't give up hope.

Now, if the season finale closes with a Jim and Karen wedding, then you will see my face looking like that girl on your avatar.

I have to say I really appreciate your honesty VampyraBat! It takes a big person to admit they have a JAM fixation and I am that person! HA. I am with you in that Jim and Pam better end up together sooner rather than later too. Pages and pages ago on this thread I said that if something good didn't happen by/in the season finale, I would stand outside my house after the finale ends and scream something to the effect that "The Office is the stupidest show on TV and I am done!" (I can't remember exactly what I said, but that's the gist of it.) It is making me way to crazy and I won't be able to take another season of JAM angst, much less make it through this summer. So I feel your pain. I just hope that TPTB hear our war chants and make good.

I agree with you HCT, I don't feel spoiled by the 6 second promo, but it is literally driving me crazy with speculation. I just hope we are not let down. If we are, I'll feel like the world's biggest chump for eating right out of their hands (the promo).

I hear you on the work thing. I also haven't read a book or enjoyed a movie since my Office Obsession began in February. I am also an avid runner and I am training for my 3rd half-marathon (which is only 5 weeks away.) I think I spend more time reading the boards that actually training. Yikes! So, hear my prayers TPTB! Make all this slacking worth it!! Please!

Those are great observations, I can't wait to see them fleshed out. I have a feeling this finale is going to be so amazing we're going to need everything we can to get us through a long summer!

I made that bet before there was even a promo out!! SO tongue.gif

Oh man I LOVE your title!! Yeah, I was noticing that trend, but I don't like holes in my hypothesis! I am going to start just looking at the blue shirts, and then, deal with the non blue shirt episodes.. I am going to do the paper in small portions, so that you all don't have to wait for the whole thing. I hope by the time I am almost done I can start to connect the dots. We shall see right!!

I did not think that the promo spoiled me, I don't know what is going to happen, and I also know that my speculation is probably in the far left feild. I always speculate like crazy until Thursday, then I make sure I have an open mind and assume that all my speculation will never happen, and I always think of the worse. I am always surprised even if what happens is what I thought. If you are waiting for that scene the whole episode I think it will wreck the episode because you will not realy be in the moment. If you try to forget that scene suddenly while watching the episode right before the scene happens you will remember and then it will be over before you can even remember what you speculated. I try to stay away from all spoilers but I find the promos to be the least harmless, because the writers throw us for a loop lots of times. Mainly on Thrusday I just purge my mind and do not think about it at all, I try to think of the bad things that could happen, and I forget the happy speculation that I remember. I mean I saw the pictures for WA, and when the scene with Karen holding the underwear happened, I did not even remember that I had seen that in the picture. Now this might just be my ablity to "clean" out my brain when needed, but I know you can do it!! All I am saying is that with the right battle plan you can make the spoilers not spoil the episode, if you have seen only a small amount of spoilers.

TPTB is The Powers That Be, or the people that control the show, ie Greg Daniels and the writers.

Don't feel ignorant! The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Pam Halpert (that looks-and sounds-so nice!), interesting idea with the whole blue/white shirt thing; have you considered taking it a step further and wondering why blue is good and white is bad? I definitly tied it back to this whole 'evolving' thing of jim's. bottled water, tuna, white shirts, and unrolled sleeves for the more professional, karen-dating, second-in-command, verses blue shirts, grape soda, ham and cheese, rolled sleeves, pranking jim. hmm...i need to rewatch some of these episodes. is it only in the third season, or does this sorta continue through the 1st and 2nd seasons?

on an entirely unrelated note, has anyone head the spin doctors' 'pretty baby'? if you rewind in time a year (to the 2nd season, when life was just better...) i think it is a fairly nice representation of jim and pam's relationship (especially right before casino night). just a thought.

Actually, this will be the Beach Day Scene Wager:

(I believe) Pam Halpert wins if Pam confesses her feelings to Jim

I win if Pam and Jim both find out that they both know about Dwangela

I do need Pam Halpert to confirm this, and for SharpSchruter to place her bet. Our bet is based completely on speculation and is 100% spoiler-free, and if anyone else would like to play along, you're more than welcome! The more the merrier!

The bet has to be spoiler free, it is only fair! But we welcome all those who want to play!! Really it makes the episode THAT much better!!

Now for the wager? I do not know what to do. Maybe a sig, or a speech.. because it is one event, it should be a bigger wager. Now Pam tells Jim the truth I am assuming we mean she tells him either that she loves him, or that she wants to be more than that??

Hi everyone, I'm new to posting, but I've read every word... heheh
My question is Do you notice how with Karen they both smile at each other with their lips closed, no teeth? And with Pam it has always been cheeky grins with teeth (or those sly sexy knowing smiles too)? And have I missed a scene where Jim actually show affection for Karen? Six months into the relationship?
loveanyway
You know what I think is bothering me the most? That I have ABSOLUTELY NO idea what is going to happen. None. I can see them ending the season with Pam and Jim together. I can see them ending it with them still apart. I can't really see them ending it with Jim and Karen still together but there's an annoying little voice in my head saying 'maybe'. I hate that little voice. dry.gif

All I really want is....hope.

Not subtle 'Jim blinked in Pam's general direction' hope, but real hope.

I need to know unequivocally that Jim is still in love with Pam.

This is exactly how I feel.. I love everything bout the show (except Packer) and I don't even want it to be all about Jim and Pam. Infact, I think that would ruin the show (like Fonzie or Cousin Oliver). But I would have to agree with your unladylike comment, and quite frankly, I think the word 'dicking' is appropriate in this situation.

That being said, and as much as I want Jim and Pam to get together, I don't really want it to happen in the very last episode. I would rather the writers had taken us by surprise mid-season (or mid-season next year), so we can watch the shiny-brand-new relationship develop. I don't want all that to happen over the summer while we sit in angst missing it. sad.gif

For instance, last year's kiss on Casino Night was certainly not what we had imagined. And you know we all watched it at least 500 times. I like being pleasantly surprised. smile.gif

Yes, Pam, it does make the episode that much better, doesn't it? I think I appreciated WA so much more because of it.

I think any combination of the following from Pam to Jim would constitute telling him The Truth: she loves him, she's attracted to him, she wants to be more than that, and/or she's sorry for Casino Night. Beeswax would have the final word, but I think any of those would constitute a win for you.

As for knowledge of Dwangela, would a knowing glance exchanged between Jim and Pam constitute a win for me or does it have to be expressly said and/or acted upon?

Okay, the wager... I think this will be a huge episode. Maybe even more important than the finale (just my opinion) so the wager should be equaly huge. How about the loser has to change their sig to a pro-Karen (not just Jaren) sig for three days and must compose/post a poem about why Karen is so wonderful. Just some ideas... I want to hear more though! If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Yes the fire... ah that fire... Seriously I don't think I've ever seen him smile at Karen with his mouth open. Makes me wonder what possibly could have happened outside the office, though lime green panties should be an indication. But it's not, he's saving himself for Pam and Karen will break up with him because she's not gettting any.

Queen that suggestion made my stomach sick.. which means it is good! ( I also think this episode will be bigger than the finale in terms of movement and such)

Yes I think a knowing look, or smirk between them would be fine, Beeswax also can have the last say on this.

I did appreciate WA much more because of it!! You are just soo right! Made the anticipation greater as well, and the episode had an even bigger payoff at the end!!

VB - who in the heck is Cousin Oliver?
Beeswax_Not_Yours_Inc.
Beach Games Wager

The Bet:

Pam Halpert's side wages that Pam will confess her feelings to James. This confession can include Pam saying one of the following things: she loves him, she's attracted to him, she wants to be more than that, and/or she's sorry for Casino Night.

Queen of England's side bets that James and Pam will realize their shared knowledge of Dwangela. This can be a converstion or a knowing look.

The Stakes:

These are high stakes, people, so only go all in if you are prepared to risk it!

If there is a confession from Pam Beesly and no shared knowledge of Dwangela, Queen of England's side must have a pro-Karen signature for 3, count em, 3 days. I'm also going to up the ante here and say that the losers also have to make a list of 10 things that Jim and Karen like to do together as a couple. YUCK!

If there is no confession and only shared knowledge of Dwangela, then Pam Halpert's side must have the pro-Karen sig and make the JAREN list.

If there is both a confession and shared Dwangela knowledge, Pam Halpert and Queen get to choose a pro-JAM sig for everyone who wagered to put on display. It's win-win-win!

Pam Halpert and Queen, I need you to let me know if these terms are agreeable to you. If they are, let the games begin!

So, everyone who wants to play, pick a side and let the chips fall where they may!
