Guys, could this have been a more exciting episode? I, of course, like you Vinny, have some issues with what Pam said -- it can still be misconstrued by Jim. At least, it was the truth. All but the "You're with someone else and that's fine" part. I think we will see a wonderful amount of reaction next week -- not just from Jim. I am sure Karen keeps him up for quite some time.

HEY and Pam ( kinda) gave him a week to think about right?? I mean the ball is in his court he has to look at it!!

Thanks for typing this. Now THIS is courage and honesty! Of course I have a small issue with some things, but I will not throw that out there now... I will enjoy this moment for what it is, as it is with every other long suffering JAMmer.
One thing I did notice is how she lost her nerve when she said, "And now you're with someone else, and that's fine. It's...whatever. That's not what I'm...I'm not...okay my feet really hurt." But you know what? I think she'd already said A LOT & felt kinda bad about laying all of that at his feet w/ his 6-month girlfriend sitting right there. She probably also didn't want him to feel the same way she felt on CN. I'll leave it to the master (SB) to analyze it for us.

No probs, FNOR!
We had to get that speech on there, pronto!
Now that I've watched that part 5 times, I am just on cloud 9. I don't know any spoilers, but here's my speculation:
I think we are going to see a lot of soul searching next week from James. I think Pam will just be going about her daily business and Jim is going to make a very grand gesture towards her to let her know he still feels the same way. I am totally picturing a Dawn and Tim moment happening (fingers crossed).
This ep was like Casino Night and Booze Cruise all rolled into one!
I think a great homework assignment would be to study Pam in Boys and Girls and then watch Beach Games. Oh how our girl has grown!

do you think everyone will really be talking about the confession when we pick up next week?? If you think of it in terms of what happened at the end of Conflict Res -- Jim made a confession to Pam (he couldn't handle her wedding plan talk) in front of everyone, and we all (well at least I) thought that it woudl be the talk of the office -- Jim totally loves Pam, is she going to leave Roy, etc. But the episode began and everything was normal between them and all was forgotten. Now, I dont think Jim and Karen adn Pam (and maybe Michael) will be able to totally ignore what happened tonight - but I just wish we were going to get a glimpse into the immediate fall out of her confession, and instead we may just get a TH about Jim and Karen's decision to head to NY and Pam's good feelings about finally demonstrating some courage and honesty.

I think Pam was also - despite her newfound courage - conscious of Karen's feelings, and just had to say what she said, but without any expectation of Jim still being in love with her. I think she figures she's got nothing to lose - which hopefully means she has everything to win!

Why else would he make this perfect cliffhanger the second to last episode? Greg Daniels... I kiss the ground you walk on. Remember... a lot of "AWESOME" ground is gonna be covered next week! JAM!!!!
For all those who had problems with Pam's speech, just remember it was more for her than for Jim or any of her co-workers. She didn't give an ultimatum like Jim did last year, she just needed to get some stuff off her chest in order to fully evolve into FNB. Everyone has been saying that Karen will be talking Jim's head off now, but I honestly see her going the OTHER way - being quiet, piecing things together in her head, as someone said figuring out that it wasn't just a crush. Not that I see Karen pushing them together, but I don't see her 'fighting' for him. I feel more like they will both have a sense of enlightenment where she realizes she's not happy & he's not happy & he realizes that he still loves Pam & isn't happy w/ Karen. One thing's FO SHO - Jim will be lying awake this week replaying Pam's speech over & over & over & over in his head.

Especially if you take what she said and you pair it with Jim's talking head during Phyllis's wedding where he said kind of hinted he didn't know what he would do if he knew Pam was interested...

Okay, I've had a chance to calm down.
I was PERFECT!! Seriously. Perfect. Jennifer Celotta and Greg Daniels are possibly the smartest people on the face of the eart, because it was perfect.
I loved that they surprised us by actually doing it in front of everyone. NO ONE thought they would actually do it. lol.
I loved that Pam did it on her own. She didn't need any prompting.
I loved that she told Jim how much he hurt her.
I loved that she admitted that she called off her wedding because of Jim.
I loved that she didn't tell Jim that she loved him and wanted to be with him (this is the part I was most worried about. I knew I just won't be alright with Pam telling Jim that she loved him and wanted to be with him and for him to just go ahead and go to NYC with Karen for that job interview, but because she didn't actually say she wanted to be with him than that makes it a little better that he didn't just jump up and kiss her right then and there. Also, this could also be the way that they could leave Jam on a positive note but not getting together. Since Pam focused on missing their friendship Jim could admit that he does too and wants to rebuild it. Then that will leave it open for them to slowly get together next season. )
But most of all I loved that Pam said EVERYTHING that I was thinking. What has been bothering me the most this season - the disconnect between Jim and Pam - is what was bothering Pam the most, too.
Sorry, I know this post makes no sense and probably has loads of grammar and spelling errors, but I don't care because...
I LOVE FNB!!
