^^^Thank you Beeswax for saying that. I am planning to stay spoiler-free this week because of the emotional rollercoaster I was on last week after seeing th BG Promo. I was even planning not to visit this thread or Spoiler AA this week b/c there is TMI.

So, I second that. If we can just keep it speculation, I'd be very happy. I like to post things on this board that I wouldn't normally post on the PD or JP.

Thanks everyone! smile.gif

I've been thinking about the season finale bet and I was wondering what you all thought about this. We can divide the bet into 4 teams:

Team Voldemort: These are people who think that there will be a happy JAM ending to this season. This could include a kiss between Jim and Pam, or an understanding that they will be together.

Team Griffindor: This group is betting on a Dwangela revelation in the finale. This means that someone other than Jim and Pam find out about our secret office love birds.

Team USA: The bet here is about Andy/Drew losing and having another "incident" of anger. I am really impressed at how long Andy has kept it together so far, but he must be bottling a lot inside.

Team Blue: Phyllis was on this team and this bet would involve the belief that Phyllis will play a part in getting JAM together. It could be a well-placed comment or an outright action to get these two together.

I'm going to add one more team to this bet, and that's

Team Awesome: This group is gambling big. It is the bet that all of the above things will happen in the season finale: happy JAM kiss, Dwangela revelation, Andy meltdown and Phyllis as a JAM guardian angel.

What do you think?

Feel free to modify or suggest something else for any of the above teams. I came up with this epiphery when I was working out and watching Beach Games, again.

Did anyone else notice that when Pam is eager to walk across the coals, Jim says he won't do it because he does not want to get his feet burned? I think this is sybolic of where they both stand on the topic of a "more than that" relationship. Pam is willing to dive in head first while Mr. Halpert is still very afraid of getting burned again.

Brilliant observation. Just brilliant.

This show is so layered (onion) no wonder I love it like an Awesome Blossom.

Those are great bets, Beeswax. I am between three teams, so I'll have to give it some thought. What are the stakes, just to be clear? I want to know what I am getting myself into! ohmy.gif

Thanks!

I agree. Please, please, no black bars! They're too tempting. Let's all just throw our fun speculations out there for JAM. It's gonna be a LONG summer, so let's enjoy our last week of S3!

And my bet for the finale is the same as I've stated before. Jim moves back to his old desk. We know Ryan took that desk in the first place so that Jim would be forced to take the Desk of Estrangement for this season. Symbolism: facing Karen, back to Pam. Now there HAS to be a reason why Michael banished Ryan to the Annex. And that the desk is STILL empty, even since Andy has returned. I thought HE might want to confiscate the desk to be nearer to Michael's office. Or even Karen, to be nearer to Jim. But, no, the desk is still empty. For one reason and one reason only. Jim will reclaim the Desk of Love during the finale. Symbolic of his answer to Pam's speech: she misses him and the fun they used to have...i.e. S2. As they rebuild their friendship next season, "more than that" will gradually become a reality.

I hope, I hope, I hope.... smile.gif

Great idea! I'm going with Team "You-Know-Who". A happy Jam ending with a potential kiss.

I love the idea Beeswax! I just wonder if I'm the only one thinking that Team Voldemort needs to be modified a bit. I think everyone will end up on that team just because of the direction the whole season has been taking. The chances of Jim and Pam sharing an understanding that they will be together is a little higher than some of the other ones (only because it's so general). We all want that to happen, so I think we all know what team everyone will be on. laugh.gif Maybe Team Voldemort needs to take a slightly more specific stance. Just a suggestion...

And thanks as always to our most lovely mediator. You're awesome Bees!

Along the lines of the betting...what do you think about that maroon shirt that Pam had on during the "fashion show, fashion show, fashion show at lunch" coming back into play? Does anyone think Pam will really spruce it up now that she has piqued Jim's interest? Is she going to be more bold in the way she dresses? Is she going to fix herself up real purrrty for Jim (like in The Return)? Any thoughts? Want to add that into the betting equation?

I woke up in a bad JAM mood today. The hope and excitement has warn off and now I only have fear and dispair... ( and no this was not brought on by any spoilers)

I just, dont know. I hope SB can make me more happy!! I am thinking a season 2 re-watch is in order!

Guys help, This is just not good!

I've been on the 'Phyllis is a JAMmer' bandwagon since the beginning but she disappointed me in WA. Either way I'm leaning towards Team Blue. But, I love the idea of Jim back at the DoL at the end and if there were a team formed for that, I am on it!
EverybodyHurts
I have to go out for awhile, but I thought of something random while in the shower that I wanted to share:

Did you notice how much the camera was moving/shaking during Pam's speech and Jim's subsequent reaction shots? Just like on CN, when big JAM moments happen, the camera guys are as excited as we are!

Have a great day everyone. Be back later tonight!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pam Halpert, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no room for JAM bad moods. Just look at the way Jim stared straight at Pam the entire time she was talking. He simply is not over her. Hypothetically speaking...I think we're gonna figure out the end to that statement...

He now KNOWS why Pam called off the wedding...he now KNOWS she wants more...he is no fool! And he just looked at her too long and with so much pain, hope and love...I just can't feel anything but good things are ahead. Now, they may not declare their undying love for eachother, but I do think it's on and they will clear some much needed air. I just feel it...

Anyone think of the scenario that no one gets the job in NY???? All three will still be in Scranton this season...

I love this senario!! I think it would be fun!! Greg Daniels!! This would make me happy!! That and Jim at the DoL!!!

I am just thinking about Jim and how he is so scared at the moment, and how running away to New York to forget it all would just be easier than to deal with this all over agian. He was having fun with Karen up to this point, IMO it would just be easier for him and Karen to start new, tehn to rehash it all!!

I hope the office workers slap that boy ( and me) in the face!

Maybe Jim will get the job and Pam will run away with him to New York to go do the internship! And Karen will be stuck in Scranton, alone, with her green underwear!

I was thinking about the song they were singing on the bus...The Gambler...about knowing when to hold them, fold them, walk away and run. This may be a throwback to Casino Night, since they were gambling...but I really hope it's not foreshadowing that Jim is going to run!!! Pam Halpert, don't wear off on me. I want to stay in my protective bubblewrap all week, but I feel the little bubbles popping!!

Oh now dont be getting all depressed on me!!!

Have faith that it is destiny!! He will find her, even if he has to take the long way to get there

Those were your words yesterday in the Karen Conundrum. I know you still believe this, even if it's gotten buried lately. Rewatch some season 2, and Pam's speech, and revive your faith!

I dont know about the rest of you but watching season 1 and 2 is just too depressing for me right now. I really wanted to, but it is just too much.

When Jim was explaining to Michael (on the Booze Cruise) why he likes Pam, he says she's warm and funny...Pam is still warm and funny!! And she misses having fun with Jim! And that is what attracted Jim to her in the first place...

There's not much warm or funny about Karen. In fact, when Jim gets bowled over by Stanley in the sumo suit...look at Pam...she laughs...Karen takes it so seriously she practically throws herself on the ground.

Think of WA..the refrigerator scene and the way Jim looks longingly at the drawing of Dwight and touches it...almost as if that brings him closer to Pam. It is going to be Pam that Jim chooses. She was both warm and funny in that episode...taking care of Phyllis and pranking Dwight.

Jim will choose Pam. won't he?
Pam_Halpert_1
Yeah. This also might have to do with the fact that my real life has been just like the office. even to the point of Pam's confession. And my jim ran away ( wow getting a little to personal for my taste)

so I think it has something to do with that.

I was thinking Jim has always wanted Pam to speak her mind. It was the one thing he really did not like. And in BG she not only spoke her ming but she did it to him! That has got to rub off!

I don't want to bring anyone down! I just hope that this summer I am happy and not angry, or ready to throw in the towel.

Late season CR ened bad and then CN ended good. SO if BG ended good will the last episode end bad??

how I wish I could know what they are wearing next episode!! But no I will not!!

Sorry about the real life stufff...yes, real life does suck...but I am still a hopeless romantic and believe good things will happen. And to quote a country music song..."Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." Just don't go back to your "Roy".

Back to fiction now for a bit...yes, Pam did speak her mind and took a chance on something...and she did it in FRONT of everyone! She smacked Jim up beside his head and brought him back to the reality of their situation. Their moments have always been the two of them huddled laughing, talking, flirting...Pam just bravely brought it all out in front of everyone. And told everyone she missed Jim! I think that Jim will be looking for a way to talk to Pam...but I think psycho Karen is going to handcuff her wrist to his and not let that boy out of her sight. That's what she better do, because I don't think she's keeping her man otherwise!

laugh.gif Yeah Karen is going to have to stick very close to that boy! Not let Pam get near him! I hope that maybe someone else in the office can tear Karen away just so that Pam and Jim can talk!.. seriuosly I see them just pushing Pam and Jim into the confrenece room for some conflict resolution of their own! wink.gif ( I wish!!)

Jim has to want to talk to Pam, and find out just what she ment ( he already knows) by certian statements. He also wants to say I am sorry.
At sometimes it looked as if he just wanted to go and hug her. Man that boy is in bad shape! Now how do we get Karen out of the picture! do you still think the coffee has posion in it??

Sigh I keep on going back and forth. I think what is bothering me is that Jim is just unstable, and Karen is the wild card! what they are going to do and how are they going to react.. I just don't know yet!!

Oh, don't worry! Like Pam I also have seen the horribleness that is my own "Roy"! I should have never been with him, it was just until I met a certian person that I saw that. Which is why I know Pam will be fine! I just don't want Jim to lose FNB!! I now kinda understand that maybe he just was not my Jim. Maybe I just have yet to find my small midrange paper salesmen! Maybe his Karen is still holding on to him wink.gif

In the mean time I have having fun just being New and Fancy!!

Wow. There is so much great stuff in this thread. All of you guys have great insight and wonderful predictions.

QUOTE (Awkward @ May 11 2007, 09:50 PM) *
I have noticed predictions are allowed here. Here is mine. The cold open will be a heated moment where Jim breaks Pam's heart after explaining she is too late, he has chosen Karen and they are going to move to New York together. While at the interviews, trusty Michael will say the absolute right thing at the right moment just before Jim's interview. Jim will consider for the first time since CN, that Pam is his match. Somehow having Pam on the brain will actually get Jim the promotion. As he is being offered the job, Jim will realize he is about to make the biggest mistake of his life. He will humbly explain that Karen is the best candidate for the job and refuse to take it. The ending will be a sullen and defeated Pam sitting at her desk. The phone rings. 'Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam.' The response, 'Dunder Mifflin this is Jim.' Roll credits.

I only read a couple of the other predictions, so if this sounds like anyone else, we think alike.

I love this. What I wouldn't give to hear "Dunder Mifflin this is Jim" *sighs*

QUOTE (Beeswax Not Yours Inc. @ May 12 2007, 06:24 AM) *
Great post, lemonade!

I really have high hopes for Thursday's ep, too. It is different this time because there is hope. We know that Jim still loves Pam and now we know that Pam still loves Jim. I know, she didn't say it to Jim, but I think "I cancelled my wedding because of you" speaks volumes.

The great thing about Pam is that now I feel like, no matter what happens, she's going to be fine. All of the heartbreak she has gone through this season is now worth it. This girl has cancelled her wedding, started taking art lessons, sang at the bird funeral, tried in her own way to get Jim's attention (The Merger and BF) and opened up in front of Jim and the whole office and the direction of her life has now completely changed for the better.

Last night I watched Boys and Girls, Women's Appreciation and Beach Games back-to-back. I highly recommend watching these three eps together. B&G is a great example of old Pam: low self confidence, controlled by Roy. It's our Pam who was sittin' on her bisuit, never havin' to risk it. In WA and BG, we see Pam come to life.

Pam Beesly, you're my hero!

Great idea. I'm going to watch those 3 in a row. I don't know anymore. I'm so scared now about the whole JAM scenario. So I've decided to TRY to focus on what made me so happy about Pam in BG... Her personal growth and strength. As an individual character (totally separate from the JAM situation), she is utterly amazing. Since I started watching the show way back in S1, I've always loved her character. And to see her now is so rewarding. (I'm pretty sure) I can say that no matter what happens between Jim and Pam, I am so much happier and relieved at Pam's growth.

I've been thinking about the season finale bet and I was wondering what you all thought about this. We can divide the bet into 4 teams:
Team Blue: Phyllis was on this team and this bet would involve the belief that Phyllis will play a part in getting JAM together. It could be a well-placed comment or an outright action to get these two together.

I like this a lot, but I've been doubting Phyllis lately. Is there any way to get another team for Kevin playing that role? Maybe Team Scrantonicity? Or maybe just consolidate the two so if either of them have a direct role in it we win???

I really think Kevin will play some sort of role here. Jim and Kevin are actually pretty good friends in comparison to a lot of the characters. And Kevin clearly has no problems bringing Pam/Jim up to Karen. And I really don't think Kevin even likes Karen all that much.

QUOTE (EverybodyHurts @ May 12 2007, 12:08 PM) *

I hope, I hope, I hope.... smile.gif

This would be wonderful. Subtle, yet very symbolic. And the desk IS still empty. wub.gif
And there is NO way the writers have overlooked that.

Anyone think of the scenario that no one gets the job in NY???? All three will still be in Scranton this season...

Actually, I hadn't thought about that at all, but I love the idea. A lot of people keep saying it's totally obvious that Karen is going to get the job, but this would be a marvelous twist. I was trying to imagine all 3 of them going and interviewing for the same position. I think Michael will be upset that Jim is going for it, but maybe he's too arrogant to even think Jim could get it over him. Either way, I think Michael will screw it up (he is Michael). I'm like 99.9% sure there is no way TPTB are going to have Michael out of Scranton anyway. I would think there would be a lot of emotional overflow from BG between Karen & Jim. I really can't see Jim screwing up his interview, but maybe, just maybe, he pushes for Karen to get the job and Karen pushes for Jim to get it. I think Karen might do this just to assure that Jim will be out of Scranton. She knows she would follow him, she already has. I think she would be more concerned with him following her if she gets the job. If each of them pushes the other to the interviewer, like "no, I'm not the best candidate, you should really go with...", the interviewer might perceive that as weakness, insecurity, or a lack of excitement about the position, and turn them both down.

Unfortunately, I agree with this. It makes sense. unsure.gif

I just don't know yet!!

...

In the mean time I have having fun just being New and Fancy!!

This is what has me going too, PH. We just don't know what Jim's reaction will be. In light of all that is new and fancy about Pam, I think I've lost sight of how much poor Jim has been through. And I worry about how he's going to react. He could be outraged which will break my heart. Or he could not react at all, which will mean that it is all brewing deep inside. If Karen had any self respect, she'd tell him to go figure it all out. I don't mean to be hard on her but puleeze, she has heard from Jim's own lips that he still has feelings for Pam... Oh well, that's been talked to death.

In any case, stay new and fancy yourself, PH!

Marked Arm, your signature makes me realize that Jim has been sleeping through season 3. I think it's time for him to wake up!!!! But he does look cute sleeping!
MarkedArm
It just dawned on me... has anyone considered or mentioned the possiblity that we won't find out in the finale who gets offered the job or if someone does get the offer, if they accept it? That would leave us all summer wondering a lot more things.

I'm just wondering because that would leave the situation a lot more open, and a huge (yet very unrewarding) cliffhanger. Maybe I'm just really scared TPTB would do that to us.

I'm beginning to wonder the amount of direct JAM interaction we will have anyway, given that Jim will be in NY for the episode. I don't have any spoilers, so I don't have any idea if Jim will be in the office at all. It is an hour episode, so there's room for a lot.

I don't know anymore. I just really hope they don't end the season without at least telling us who gets the job offer, if any of them.

Yes, someone, did mention that possibility over at Jam Spoilers and Specs. I hope we're not tortured too much this summer.

I think I am just worried at what they are going to do. if they leave us not knowing what happens.. I just do not know if I can take another summer not konwing about Jim and Pam.. I just need to know eiter way are they done? or is there going to be a chance? I just want that question answered once and for all so that I can MOVE on if I need to!

I was going to Photoshop myself into the picture so he was sleeping on my shoulder, but I thought I'd get a lot of angry JAM fans, and possibly a concerned husband. smile.gif

(OK, who am I kidding, I would probably do that if I didn't have so much work to do)

You know, this may be their solution to RJ's pilot getting picked up or not. If it does than they could just say she got the job. If it doesn't and if they want to keep her than they could say that she didn't get the job. I also don't think it will necessarily mean bad news for Jam, because they could make it clear that Jim isn't going to take the job and stay in Scranton before they say who got it.

MB, I love this! I'm listening to it right now. Who knew Chaka applied to JAM? I love the lyric "to the limit, to the WALL, for the chance to be with you, I'd gladly risk it all." Chaka knew about Jim's wall, even back then. Chaka is smart. rolleyes.gif

MarkedArm - your sig gave me an idea and someone with more photoshop experience could do it better but this is my 5 minute attempt...

Also, since I love my reversed GWH kiss signature so much (see below). I was wondering what the other Jam kisses would look like in reversed...

One of my favorites. I've seen it so many times, and I always end up watching it when I need a serious JAM pick me up. If only Pam would have recognized what a great date it was then. One of my favorite parts is the very end when Michael is in his office and Jim is at his desk, and they both just look at each other and shrug. Absolutely one of my favorite endings.

I'm glad to be around all of this enthusiasm! When I watched Pam's Big Moment on Thursday, I had goosebumps and tears. It came at the end of a very long and trying day, but all my angst lifted away. My heart was pounding and my breath was caught. I got that feeling like my lungs were bigger than my chest and I fell in love all over again! My husband watches later so he doesn't have to deal with commercials and to see such a guy melt while he watched it just proved how amazing this show is. I felt so proud and man I am PUMPED for next week!!!
