Oooo, I go to sleep and miss some JAM spiraling!

I was not trying to be such a killjoy. Let me try to put a more positive spin on my opinion. It goes back to the head versus heart idea. Pam's speech is like a tiny bomb that attached to his brain. Right now it is in capsule form, so Jim can pretend to ignore it as he has most Pam input since PW. However, the heartfelt truthfulness of Pam's speech will not allow him to forget it. With the right catalyst (enter competition with Karen and hurt Michael) the bomb in Jim's head will explode and Pam's words will sink in. Jim will realize how much he also misses her. So to me, Pam's speech has the power to awaken Jim heart no matter what his head is doing at the moment.
I hope this helps. If my posting here is bringing the thread's joy down, just let me know and I will stop. Also thank you to everyone who liked my prediction. I am glad you enjoyed it.
This is brilliant. Something is going to happen in NY. I'm thinking it will be either Jan or Michael that says something that will make our James realize he could lose the love of his life. Just think, Jan is probably not in a good place right now after breaking up with Michael and I'm sure she will have some interesting things to say. Jan and Michael are both crazy, for sure, but they have both given Jim and Pam some very useful advice.
Michael to Jim: Never, ever, ever give up
Jan to Pam: There are a million reasons not to do something

People, don't worry. Remember, all the positive JAREN stuff occurred prior to Pam's speech. There is a good reason the writers had Pam do this in BG instead of the finale. Jim will THINK and THINK about what Pam said. He'll still go for the interview, especially with KF pushing him, but Pam will always be that little thought in the back of his mind throughout the day. His heart will win out over his head. We will soon see the return of S2 Jim.....corporate Jim will just be a bad memory.
Remember too...the writers won't send Jim to NY. It would be a repeat of S3. Just won't happen!
No ledge jumping allowed on this thread. Let's all calm down, stay away from the negative spoiler threads, and wait for the expert analysis on Mr. Halpert from SB.
Here! Here!
This nervousness and doubt is a normal process for us Jammers. I feel like we are all like Jim right now. We are confused and unsure of ourselves. Sometimes we even question whether whether there's anything to salvage from JAM. But don't give up hope!
I know I sound like a broken record here, but look to the UK Office for inspiration. Tim and Dawn had not seen or talked to each other in a year. Heck, Dawn was in another country! This parallels what's going on between Jim and Pam. Then, Tim and Dawn see eachother at a Christmas party and Tim gives Dawn a very meaningful present (paints) and a note that says, "Never give up". Oooo, another epiphery! What if Pam gives Jim a present to wish him good luck on the job. That could be the catalyst! Anyways, I digress. With that one gift and one night with Tim, Dawn changed the course of her life. She broke up with her fiance and came back to Wernham Hogg and got her man.
I totally see Jim as Dawn in this situation and the way it was done in UK Office was amazing and true to the characters.
Now, I have no idea if this is going to happen on the show. I may be crazy and way off in left field, but this is getting me through this week. Things could go horribly awry on Thursday and JAM could blow up in my face, but I don't care. I'm going to hold on to this dream all week so that I don't collapse in on myself like a dying star.
QUOTE (Pam Halpert @ May 13 2007, 02:11 AM)

On a warm summer's evening
On a train bound for nowhere
I met up with a gambler
We were both too tired to sleep
So we took turns a-staring
Out the window at the darkness
The boredom overtook us
And he began to speak
He said, son I've made my life
Out of reading people's faces
And knowing what the cards were
By the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind my sayin'
I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice
So I handed him my bottle
And he drank down my last swallow
Then he bummed a cigarette
And asked me for a light
And the night got deathly quiet
And his face lost all expression
Said, if you're gonna play the game, boy
You gotta learn to play it right
{Refrain}
You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away, know when to run
You never count your money when you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin', when the dealin's done
Now, every gambler knows
The secret to survivin'
Is knowing what to throw away
Knowing what to keep
'Cause every hand's a winner
And every hand's a loser
And the best you can hope for
Is to die in your sleep
So when he'd finished speakin'
He turned back toward the window
Crushed out the cigarette
And faded off to sleep
Then somewhere in the darkness
The gambler he broke even
But in his final words I found
An ace that I could keep
The bolded parts remind me of Jim... and how he will find that Ace that he can keep!!
Just.. it has given me lots of hope!!
Let's hold on to that hope.
Oh, and now I can't hear this song without thinking of Michael and his crazy "Ethel Merman" singing.
