YES!! I want Karen to have some dignity!! I want her to stay at corporate and have a wonderful job, and visit Scranton at some time!! you know them Jim and Pam have to hid their love!!

I will just be happy once Karen is gone from Scranton and can not get in between Jim and Pam!!

Heck I think I would be fine if Jim and Karen tries long distance relationship! ( will nto work) and Jim gets to be alone with Pam!!

Hey I am thinking supply closet!! what do you think??

Agreed. My speculation theory is the long distance thing and them break up by Thanksgiving, therefore paving the way for Jim to profess his love in December, 'because Christmas is the time when you tell people how you really feel'. (paraphrasing here)

Neither one of them has been in single status at the same time so this is my vote. Also, we've already had the season opener/closer thing. Its time for a big moment to be at Christmas or Valentines, although I dont think they'll make us wait until February.
officeobsessed
^^^I don't think I can wait until Christmas for them to get together. I was actually hoping for a Christmas marriage proposal and a season finale JAM wedding! Seriously, I don't know that The Office will last past season 4. Steve Carell, Jenna and JK seem to be trying to build their movie careers and I don't know how much more they can do with these characters and story lines. Does anyone else see Season 4 as possibly the last?

The theory still holds up if we bump it up. Break up by Halloween and proposal by Christmas HA HA I guess I'm just trying to shield myself. I've been rather agitated this season until last week!!!
Pam_Halpert_1
OO!! NOW NO depressing thoughts on here. And no, all the actors have said they want to do the office as long as it runs. They said that movie carrers are second to the ooffice. So no I do not think it is the last year. Steve, actually said he would rather stick to The Office and small slap stick comedy then do another oscar movie agian.

And I am sorry.. but I just might stop watching the Office if they got married in season 4..

I know you were kidding about that unsure.gif tongue.gif

jcdcppfan87- I actually would be fine with this senario... SO I will also put it my in yeah that would be cool to happen folder! I am truing to thin of all the senarios so that I am not so freaked out when it happens.
officeobsessed
I wasn't aware of the actors' feelings toward advancing their movie careers. I just assumed that was the natural progression..TV, then Big Screen and they all seem to be doing so many movies. (I don't think I can handle another season with a "Jim Wig"!)

If they are all committed to The Office, then I will stick with it as long as they do. However, I don't want to wait any longer for my JAM! Plus, realistically, once Karen is Kaput, how long would Jim and Pam possibly be able to keep their hands off each other!

I don't see season 4 as the last. I always got the feeling that 5 seasons would be it. As much as I love The Office I'd rather it leave on top, like Seinfield and Sex and the City, than have it go on and on until it's only a shell of it's former self. Of course, I'm saying that now. Check back with me a couple years and I might be singing a different tune. lol.

Sorry about the triple post. I guess I could just say I like my sig so much!! wink.gif

I am thinking Jim will let Karen have the job. Karen will tell him how that is awesome now he can transfer here with Jim's help and they can find a place to live. Jim will tell her that no he is planning on staying in Scranton. And Karen will ask him is it because you don't like NY or is it because you still have feelings for Pam? Jim will say something like there are a lot of reason I want to stay in Scranton. Karen then says oh name one that does not start with the letter P. Jim then says, Karen I don't know what you want. Karen says, I want you to say that you do not still have feelings for her, that you did not give me the job for her, that you have not been using me this whole time because of her. Then Jim can say Honestly Karen I do not know how to answer that. Karen can then say. Jim I think that is your problem you do not know what you want. Let me tell you, go back to Scranton ,figure out if you really love herand still have feelings for her and if you really want to stay in Scranton, and I will stay here in NY where I know I want to be. If you decide she is the person you would rather be with then, you know what? You just need to stop pretending and go get what you want. I am tired of this Jim, I do not need nor want this anymore. Until you can tell me with all certianty that you have NO more feelings for Pam, I just do not think this relationship is going to work. So go Jim, make a decision and I will be here at my new job in NY when you do.
Jim could then say Karen I just... and then Karen says, do not say anything Jim just go, go back to Scranton and make a choice once and for all.

I know drama.. I will make a more non drama prediction as well.. but I like this one.. this one just felt good to type!! biggrin.gif

Ooh this sounds good! I'm also having visions of Jim interviewing, and being asked questions about what he wants for his future, and about what is important to him...and all he'll be able to think about is Pam. I mean come on - Jim is the one who famously said that if this were his career, he's throw himself in front of a train. He has only advanced in the company to get away from Pam! This job interview in NY is just another way to escape, while also being more ambitious to please Karen. When he is away from both Karen and Pam and forced to articulate what he really wants, the truth will come out!

I can hope so anyways....

*EDIT* ^^^ Beeswax, that is the best present ever!

I posted this on the Karen Conundrum this morning and thought it was applicable to JAM Therapy as well:

I would think TPTB would want Karen to leave on a good note, not having been dumped by Jim for Pam. So, my votes still stands that Karen will see the writing on the wall. She will realize that Pam has always had Jim's heart and she will walk away. She will give Jim her blessing to be with Pam and they will part on good terms.

Did anyone see the movie The Notebook? Remember the character of Martha Shaw? She was the war widow that Noah was "with". She said to him one day something to the effect "A woman knows when a man looks into her eyes and sees someone else." Also, When she finally met Allie and spent some time with the two of them together, she told Noah "She's sensational". She was truly happy for them to be together. She realized that Allie was the love of Noah's life and she would never hold that place no matter what. It also gave her hope that someday she would find the love of her life (again--b/c her husband was killed in the war.)

I see a lot of parallels between Jim/Noah, Pam/Allie and Karen/Martha.

Anyone agree? Disagree?

BTW, The Notebook is one of my Desert Island Movies!! wub.gif

I think that is beautiful. If Roy, who was with Pam for 10 years, can encourage her to go for Jim, can't Karen do that too.

Can't everyone see how much these two need to be together!??!?!?!

Wow. I feel like I was talking really loud there. Was I talking loud?

Ok, I know this is kind of crazy, but I wanted to share with you guys, because I know you would understand.

For Mother's Day, my daughter and I went out to a nice restaurant for brunch. We got there about 30 minutes before our reservation, and they said we'd have to wait unless we wanted to eat outside. We decided to go for it, it was a beautiful sunny day with a little breeze. We were the only ones eating outside and it was beautiful. All these little tables, comfortable chairs, beautiful landscaping, flowers, AND 3 water fountains! As in 3 wishes! And there was no way I was wasting my time wishing for a plasma TV for Phyllis.

After the meal, I took some money out of my purse and walked up to the first fountain. There was no money in it, so I hesitated a bit, I didn't want to get into trouble. But, like Pam, I screwed up my courage, threw the coin in and wished for Jim and Karen to break up.

At the next fountain I wished for Jim to move back to his old desk.

At the last fountain I made my most important wish, for Jim and Pam to both realize, and declare, their love to each other.

My daughter thinks I'm crazy....well, yeah, just figuring that out, huh? tongue.gif

Michael made wishes for the women of Dunder Mifflin and it seems like some of those wishes are coming true:

Pam- courage (walked through hot coals) check
Angela- a heart (that look she gave to Jim) check
Kelly-brains hmmmm...could she be next? Could she help Jim and Pam get together?

Yes, maybe next week Phyllis will ge her plasma TV?

what i think is going to happen is that Karen is going to get the job at corporate (remember, she had a long segment where jim was and where he was teasing her...) and jim will stay with pam in scranton.... that'll make for much tension (exactly what those **** writers are looking for!).

My speculation is that Jim will be offered the job. After all, he is in a higher position and is more qualified than Karen. He wont except it though. I think that once that time bomb goes off in his head he will decide to stay in Scranton and recomend Karen for the position. He wants her to be happy, and he knows she wants to be in New York. They will split, and Jim will head back to Scranton to find his Pam.

It will be too funny when Michael realizes he lost the new job to Karen (loosing to a woman). I picture him having the party planning comitee throw him a huge going away party before he even interviews. Then he has to come back to the office and face everyone.

THURSDAY!!!!! [I thought about having a finale party, but I decided I couldn't handle the distractions. So only hubby & pups are invited. laugh.gif ]

I know how you feel. A friend and I are planning a small get together on finale night and we have invited some flans we are trying to convert. I am very worried now, however, that this wasn't such a good idea. I am going to have to set some ground rules.
1.) There is no talking during the Office.
2.) There is no talking during the Office.
3.) Turn all cell phones off.
4.) Keep coughing, sneezing and loud breathing to a minimum.
5.) No crunchy snacks.
6.) If you are new to the Office please refrain from asking questions until the commercials. (A viewing of Beach Games prior to the finale is advised).
7.) You are not allowed to feel sorry for Karen after her and Jim break-up. No friend of mine is allowed on team Jaren.
8.) No one is allowed to scream and cry happy tears when Jim and Pam make-out on the DOL except Lemonade. She might miss an important Jam sigh or something.
9.) Everyone must comfort Lemonade with happy thought when she inevitably crashes and burns after realizing she is going to have to wait another 3 months for a new office episode.
The party is not at my house, so I am going to sound like a total nazi, but this is important! Besides, it will be good for me to have support. I watched BG by myself, and I was freaking out all alone. Bring on the Jam!

QUOTE (OfficeObsessed @ May 13 2007, 06:52 PM) *

Disagree?

BTW, The Notebook is one of my Desert Island Movies!! wub.gif

I often watch The Notebook when I'm feeling down about Jam. It reminds me that destiny does not take no for an answer. Things that are meant to be are gonna happen sooner or later.

I thought about the Long distance relationship senario before, but I really think its all or nothing for Jam right now. Its the 11th hour for these two. Both Jim and Pam had their respective seasons to come to terms with their feelings. They love each other and they are both aware of this now. Season three has paved the way for these two to get together. Almost all of issues standing in the way of Jam have been resolved. Its just time for it to happen. Dragging it out any longer would be forced and unrealistic. If Jim chose to be with Pam only after he broke up with karen then she would be his second choice. Pam is not a back-up Plan, Pam is THE ONE. It would suck the magic out of Jam and The writers need Jam magic.

Double post... but i heard this song this weekend and thought of Pam and her coal walk/ confession. Now its Jim's turn to jump into the fire!

Standing Outside The Fire
Garth Brooks

We call them cool
Those hearts that have no scars to show
The ones that never do let go
And risk the tables being turned

We call them fools
Who have to dance within the flame
Who chance the sorrow and the shame
That always comes with getting burned

But you've got to be tough when consumed by desire
'Cause it's not enough just to stand outside the fire

We call them strong
Those who can face this world alone
Who seem to get by on their own
Those who will never take the fall

We call them weak
Who are unable to resist
The slightest chance love might exist
And for that forsake it all

They're so ****-bent on giving ,walking a wire
Convinced it's not living if you stand outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

There's this love that is burning
Deep in my soul
Constantly yearning to get out of control
Wanting to fly higher and higher
I can't abide
Standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

Standing outside the fire
Standing outside the fire
Life is not tried, it is merely survived
If you're standing outside the fire

Those rules must be in effect at all times during the office. I'm worried about you watching with new flans. They may not appreciate the importance of those rules. Just make sure you tape the episode so you can watch it later in case there is chaos.

I remember inviting a bunch of casual fans over to the series finale of X-files. BIG mistake. They talked through the whole thing and did not follow my "X-Files Rules" (which were similar to The Office Rules"). I did tape the episode and enjoyed it thoroughly after they were gone.

I don't want to freak you out, but be prepared!

I think i'm going to print off your list and post it to my front door. That way my friends will know the rules before they even walk into my house. OK, I was in major JAM-therapy-needed mode on Sat night. I know that this is totally crazy, but Jim's wig bugs me so much, added to the fact that he has been a non-friend to Pam that I was having a hard time rooting for them while she was making her speech. (Mind you, this was on my _nth viewing. I was totally excited the first few times around.) I had basically forgotten why we were so crazy for him. But, I cured myself by re-watching The Initiation and the bonus scene from Traveling Salesman! Seeing Jim's normal hair and huge smile reserved just for Pam made me happy! Yea me!

So in an effort to get everyone excited for another great finale, lets have a little laugh at some of LAST year's specs on what would happen on CN:

Some of the "more interesting" speculations for last year's finale:

QUOTE (PurpleBelt @ Apr 3 2006, 07:35 PM) *
What ever else happens, Pam & Jim won't be hooking up any time soon, so don't your breath.

The real question is this -- how many more seasons can they drag this story line out before the fans riot in the streets?

apparently, at least ONE more . . .

QUOTE (humby @ Apr 19 2006, 07:54 PM) *
It will most likely end with a kiss. Mark my words.

wow, humby. I wonder if this was insider information? Hmmm. . .

QUOTE (PDMike @ Apr 27 2006, 05:28 PM) *
This is my first post here . .

I think that, before Pam and Jim get together in the end (as we all know they will), Pam is going to be tested by Jim's showing up with a girl friend of his own. How will Pam handle that?

Oh, the foresight! If only we had known . . .

QUOTE (the_office_girl @ May 6 2006, 08:25 AM) *
That would be perfect. Dwight haveing to work FOR Jim? Ha there is some serious comedy gold to be had there.

And there most certainly is. Who knew it would come in the form of a validity commitee, and a bat hunt?

QUOTE (meladara @ May 6 2006, 05:18 PM) *
Next Season - I think most importantly we are going to have a downsizing situation at the beginning of season 3. This is a major part of the BBC version and I think that it how Jim will be brought back. There will be downsizing and Stamford become part of the Scranton branch (or maybe vice versa) and along with Jim will come new characters too.
This is all speculation - Help me! smile.gif
I think I might be obsessed!

Wow. Spot on.

QUOTE (Xian @ May 11 2006, 07:27 PM) *
I think we'll see an 11th hour kiss. They play poker and they bet something big, maybe something to do with the Australia trip or the wedding, or both. But the main thing is that Pam finds out Jim's leaving and we're left with a cliff-hanger.
One hour! Happy watching...

I thought it was so funny that everyone thought that Roy and Jim would bet on Pam! laugh.gif Hilarious!
poorman'sMichaelScott
I love looking at last year's specs. There is a thread out there about spec for S3. That's fun too. Let me go look for it.

Predictions for Season 3.
herecomestrouble
The Pilot
The Alliance
The Dundies
The Client
The Booze Cruise
The injury
Conflict resolution
Casino night
Gay Witch Hunt
The Initiation
The Merger
Back From Vacation
The Return
Phyllis Wedding
Cocktails
The Negotiation
Beach Games

Perhaps you can cut The Injury and The Alliance -- although both are in my top 5, they dont necessarily move the plot along for JAM. And if JAM is the plot you want to show the most, you might could cut the Client and Back from Vacation (since they mostly move Jan and Michael's story on). Altho I am a supporter of the more eps the better!

I would say of the two, you could get rid of Cocktails, and just explain FNB and Roy's reaction. The Negotiation has got too much of them together I think to miss. The Breakroom is rough to watch but I think necessary.

Cut Cocktails and The Negotiation. I think it might be hard for a first timer to watch without being totally sold on the JAM story line and seeing every single epi from S2! You gotta fall in love with JAM in order to survive some of the awful scenes from S3. Jim's so mean and hurt(ful) in S3, that I had a hard time with it! And Jim's my second husband. Or third? There is this theory in Quantum Physics (I forget the name) that states that thoughts put into the universe can effect things that have occured in the past (ie: the plot of the finale that has already been filmed). Basicaly time is an illusion created by humans and all things are occuring at the same time. Positive energy now... can help Jam in the finale. If you believe it it will happen... if you doubt it it wont.

These scientists did this experiment where a machine randomly produced a series of long and short beeps. Without hearing the recording the scientists guessed the order of the beeps. More often than not their guesses turned out to be correct because the power of suggestion is that strong. They believed it enough that their thoughts actualy effected the series of the beeps even though they occured in the past . If we all go in this thinking Jam, Jam will happen.

There also was another expirement done by this Japanese scientist. He took several bottles of water. He prasied and spoke kindly to half of them and he yelled and critisized the other half. The ones that were praised formed beautiful water crystals under a microscope while the others formed ugly blobs. We can't get upset with Jam now, or we might get an ugly blob of a finale.

Now that I have totaly dorked out on you all, remember to keep putting positive JAM energy into the universe. It does matter!!!

I'm diggin' this!

I am just going to live in my happy JAM bubble until Thursday. That bubble could be burst, but I don't care. I think I have now fully convinced myself that the Office UK ending is going to happen, so there is no turning back for me now.

Ah la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It takes a night to make it dawn
And it takes a day to make you yawn brother
And it takes some old to make you young
It takes some cold to know the sun
It takes the one to have the other

And it takes no time to fall in love
But it takes you years to know what love is
And it takes some tears to make you trust
It takes some years to make it rust
It takes some dust to make it polished

Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la

It is so...

It takes some silence to make sound
And it takes a loss before you found it
And it takes a road to go nowhere
It takes a toll to make you care
It takes a hole to make a mountain

Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life goes full circle
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la life is meaningful
Ah la la la la la life is wonderful
Ah la la la la la

It is so...wonderful...
It is so meaningful...

Hey there sad.gif - More sad talk over on the JP thread. I posted a reply & still feel very confident that we'll get some good JAM on Thursday, but what the heck?? Why are people saying things like, "Pam & Jim will never get together. All of this happened to help them grow as individuals"?? Do we think TPTB would actually DO that to us? Seriously, if this season of sorrow ends badly, I am jumping ship. I refuse to be put through more emotional turmoil!

As I said over there, At this point, all I really want is for Jim to stay in Scranton & not be w/ KF & rebuild his relationship w/ Pam. All signs point that way for me. Call me a dreamer, but I'm sticking to it. (I am also secretly hoping for a JAM kiss/embrace, but I realize that is a tall order. wub.gif )

I do not need to be talked down from the ledge. I just don't understand why EVERYONE isn't more positive. Don't they know if we are positive, JAM will happen! Thanks for reading... smile.gif

People are often pessimistic because they don't want to hope for the best and be given the worst. They'd rather have no hopes, and then be pleasantly surprised.

I had a bout of pessimisim myself, but I think I'm being kind of optimistic now. Jim is going to have a reaction to Pam's speech, and after a speech like that, how can he say "I don't think I can handle being friends with you." Look at the man's face! He looks just as heart-broken as she does.

Plus, Greg Daniels said in TV Guide that there's going to be some movement in the finale with the Jim/Pam/Karen storyline, so the writers definitely aren't going to ignore it. I highly believe that this Thursday will end more JAM-positive than we've been all season. Does it make sense to end a season with a giant block of your fanbase horribly depressed? No.

And I'm also secretly hoping for a JAM kiss/embrace. biggrin.gif Hey, you never know! How many of us called Casino Night?

^^^I love your post, stapler in jello and I am with you in that I think Jim will respond to Pam's speech and the season will end on an up note. I am also hopelessly praying for a JAM kiss or embrace. They are both so starved for affection...it would be electric!

Also, I hate to be a party pooper, but would you mind removing your black bar statement above? A bunch of us are desparately trying to keep this thread (hence, ourselves) hard core spoiler free this week. So far, everyone has complied. I just don't have the willpower to withstand those black bars..although I didn't peek at yours! wink.gif

Thank you!!

Well, the thing is that it's not a spoiler. Not by my definition. It was just a statement from Greg Daniels that tells you absolutely nothing, but I put the spoiler tags as a precaution. Basically, it tells you less than a promo. It's as general as a cast member saying, "I can't tell you anything, but it's a good episode."

If people really object, I'll take it down.

OMG, Stapler, what a beautiful avitar and signature...*can't stop staring* ...AHHHHHH!!! I think there's going to be some good things on the horizon for those two.

By the way, when I was last on, we had 1,997 posts...and I had seriously considered triple posting so I could get the 2000th post to get another dance with Jim (just kidding...I stayed clear). You guys were busy!!! And I'm glad to see Pam Halpert got to spend some time in the supply closet with Jim. We'll see if her "talking" did any good. tongue.gif

Hang in there...it's almost Tues...the next two days are going super fast for me!!! Hope it goes fast and well for all JAM therapy posters. I am steering clear of any of the other threads, I just get too depressed. Here there's optimism and someone is always eager to talk you off the ledge. I have, thus far, remained positive and am anxiously waiting for another kiss to get us through this summer!!
