Oh my god. You are so right. You seriously just gave me an epiffery.

We're all so high on JAM right now, but isn't that how we were after Casino Night??? And then Gay Witch Hunt happened! I'm not saying we're going to come back to something as disastrous for them as that, but right now I wouldn't at all be surprised to start season 4 with them as just friends. That makes total sense to me right now.

Man, Pam, I don't know what to say but thank you. In the midst of my happiness I was a little sad about it all. I guess I was thinking that all the speculation could take us in an unrealistic direction. I'd rather have the show I know and love than the Jim and Pam love-fest. Now I'm even more excited for season 4.

YEAH!! I am glad I could do that!! Yes, remember GWH?? It was not expected and people were mad because it did nto go they way they wanted.. but it went the say it should.

I can see a TH ( with even both of them) saying

Pam: yes, the Date was nice, Jim and I talked about lots of things and we decided that we need to work on just being friends agian before we try anything. I mean Jim still does not feel like he completly belongs here.

Jim: But we also decided that once that friendship has been built agian .. well we will see where it goes.

They smile.

See every one would be mad, but yet it would be the right things to do!and then we can get the middle of the season episode where Jim and Pam decide to take it to that next level, and then we get to see the budding of their relationship.

Just asking Pam out on a date, does not erase everything that has happened this season. They still just started saying HI to eachother let alone Kissing. The writers could go many ways with this. If they want to make JAm a stable relationship.. Jim and Pam have to be friends agian first before any thing else.

This is nto to say, we will not see anything. I mean we know the awesomeness it was when they were friends and Pam was engaged, now it wil be even better.... just, NO dating!!

Hope this helps!

Anothe rnote even if JIm broke it off with Karen... he still has to talk to HR.. and I am sure the company has a clause where he can not just jump in th enext relationship. Karen has to coem back and at least sign the HR papers, and clean her desk out.

And I do not care what anyone says Pam will not do anything to Hurt Karen when it comes to Jim, becasue it is Jim!!

I'm expecting sunshine and rainbows for the following reasons:
1. I want to.
2. The new writer.
3. Just cause.
4. Hey, he finally got the courage to ask her out, so I'm celebrating a little!
laugh.gif

Btw, do you mind if I call you Queenie? I sometimes tire of the acronyms. (But I do really like mine.) Call me Drew if you want. laugh.gif

#1: The best reason I've heard yet. laugh.gif

(but who is the new writer? I hadn't heard about that. Is it you? *crosses fingers* We need a flan in the writers room)

Queenie??!!! I LOVE IT! biggrin.gif Much better than QoE. I get tired of the acronyms too (but yours is my favorite. *tee hee*)
poorman'sMichaelScott
Totally agree with you Pam, but I still think that they could be more than friends. I don't see the point in putting off something that you've both been wanting for years.

Literally the best birthday ever! The whole room was silent during the last scene. But it reminded me so much of the british christmas special, that I was kinda waiting for something to happen. When her last talking head came on, I looked at the clock and noticed there was still time for a twist. I kept looking towards the door.

Oh my gosh! I arranged my day to create kharma points to promote a happy finale and my sister kept screaming, "YOU DID IT!!! YOU DID IT!!!"

So I can celebrate for real tomorrow (today?).

*goes to watch again*

This is from the blog tonight.

May 17, 09:44 PM

new writers
Announcing two new writers that joined our staff today:
Anthony Q. Farrell
and
Ryan K. Koh.
If next year sucks, you know who to blame. Favorite moments, newbies?
Ryan: tonight's episode -- Pam's talking head at the end.
Anthony: Creed taking a number two in the women's bathroom.
We have hired them for two different types of writing, as you can see.
Also, we bid goodbye to Caroline Williams, who has left to have a baby.

I like this Ryan! biggrin.gif

Thanks Drew! I keep meaning to go read the blog but between you guys and rewatching the finale I keep getting distracted.

oh yeah they can still be commited to eachother. No formal HR documents or telling people , but just know that they are commited to only eachother, and that after the friendship thing is soild it is game on for them!!
They need to just have the knowledge, as SB said, that their friendship is above all else.. and so is Jim finding his way back. I also think it will only take half of the season.

It depends on how much the writers want to strech it out. They can also say that Jim and Pam while commited can not be public until Karen transfers and HR gets a document.
Pam_Halpert_1
LOL.. so if Jim and Pam do not go the way I want ,I blame Ryan, Got ya!! laugh.gif

I trust Paul and GD!!! They got my back!!! wink.gif

I just liked the fact that they hired him for Jamminess! Let's hope for some great scenes in S4! biggrin.gif

I think this time around we'll have more than just hope on our side! This is going to be another great season, I can feel it!
Pam_Halpert_1

poorman'sMichaelScott
Woohoo! OK, I gotta get off the boards! It's so ridiculously late here! But I have to watch it one more time. Tee hee. See y'all tomorra!
Pam_Halpert_1
I can feel it too, the writers know which episodes can be an hour long. The alrady have an arc set out. they have found thier grove!!

I am thinking this is going to be a season close to S2!! and THAT will be awesome! Yeah I have good feeling about this season!

Good morning Jammers!

I hope last night's ep has still left you smiling and satisfied. I know I'm still smiling.

Soooo, on to the mother of all wagers. Here is the last list I saw posted, so let's have a look:

Bet #1:
1- Cliffhanger = gatorjenni, Awkward, MarkedArm

2- Subtle yet positive JAM interaction = mybestfriend, QueenOfEngland, bubblewrap, iLuvJimHalpert, EverybodyHurts, SharpSchruter, officerules07, HereComesTrouble, dinknflicker, funch, stapler in jello

3- JAM kiss = poorman'sMichaelScott, Pam Halpert, Lemonade, sedimentary, jimswife4life, JamesLover

Bet #2:

Team Voldemort: mybestfriend

Team Sandals: QueenOfEngland, Awkward, poorman'sMichaelScott, Lemonade, HereComesTrouble, jimswife4life

Team Griffindor:

Team USA: funch

Team Blue: officerules07

Team Awesome: gatorjenni, iLuvJimHalpert, Pam Halpert, sedimentary

Team Scrantonicity: bubblewrap, MarkedArm, EverybodyHurts, Sharp Schruter, JamesLover, stapler in jello

Team HR:

Ok, so this is what I'm thinking. Bet #2 is the winner for the first part, so,
mybestfriend, QueenOfEngland, bubblewrap, iLuvJimHalpert, EverybodyHurts, SharpSchruter, officerules07, HereComesTrouble, dinknflicker, funch,
stapler in jello

Also, let me know what you all think on this. I don't think anyone won the second bet. It was Pam that brought Jim back. We should have had a Team Beesly.

Here's a reminder of the stakes:

Win both –JAM signature
Win first, Lose second - Karen signature
Lose first, Win second – Sad Jim signature
Lose both – JAREN signature

Did we say 3 days for the sigs?

Anyhoo, that's how I see it. If anyone wants to plead their case for something else, go ahead. I won't be back on here until tonight, but Queen and Pam Halpert can help figure it all out!

Actually, it's 4 months sad.gif : the rest of May, June, July, August and 1/2 of September.

I married that man too! ohmy.gif

Yes, but the summer usually flies by for me - I go out of town a lot & work shorter hours (@ a school), then when Sept comes, it'll be time for football & JAM!

TIP about watching w/ hubbies: Mine played golf last night so I got to watch the 1st viewing alone & we watched the 2nd together. Let me just tell you how much better that was! He didn't have to watch me mad for the 1st half, freaking out & crying in the end. We may do that more often!

I'd like like to weigh in on the realism PH has thrown out there. ITA that they have both been through a LOT this year & need time to rebuild their friendship. That's why I'm actually glad they are starting down that road now - we will get to see JAM blossom into a full-fledged relationship in S4. As SB said, Jim was reminded of why he fell for Pam the first time, and although they both love each other, they're not in love right now. It will not take long though; once they start spending more time together, sharing everything, talking openly, etc. Pam now has the ability to help drive their relationship & really be Jim's equal partner - before he was the one driving everything b/c she was in such denial. It will be AWESOME. wub.gif

Good morning happy little JAMmers!

Well don't say anything, but I called in sick this morning so that I can fly out to Philly this afternoon, then drive up to Scranton for the brunch tomorrow. My daughter has early dismissal from school today so she is coming too. I am going to bring my laptop, so hopefully I can do some posting. I am bringing a get well card for Jenna to give to Angela or Brian. I am hoping to get into Scranton around 5 or 6 tonight, check in, then head to Cooper's for dinner. It's a neat place, lots of cute decorations and good food, comfortable and casual. Perfect after traveling all day.

Well, gotta go get my act together. I am still on my JAM high and expect to be for quite some time! smile.gif
mybestfriend
I am still on a JAM high. Thanks to all of the fellow therapists -- together we were able to hold onto our sanity the last few days.

First, thanks Paul Lieberstein for writing an ah-may-zing episode. From start to finish it had it all. But most of all thanks to JKras and Jenna for emmy-worthy performances.

I lost the half the bet with a 'won the first, lost the second' so my punishment signature says it all. I could make the argument that Karen was the impetus since she was such a ... well you know. But I'll take my punishment with my head held high. Nobody said I had to have a happy, pretty Karen picture rolleyes.gif
poorman'sMichaelScott
Here's my argument for winning the second bet. I chose Team Sandals because it was the closest one to Jim rethinking leaving Pam. This is what I said.
QUOTE (poorman @ May 16 2007, 04:19 PM) *
But let me clarify that I think it will be his decision, not really Michael pushing it into him.

Not very descriptive, but that's what I was thinking.
gatorjenni
I only slept about 4 hours last night, but it's a good day! This is the best morning I've had a in a LONG time! I keep walking around looking for other people with a smile on their face and a beat in their step to see if anyone else feels like I do. I want to hang onto this feeling for a while and keep it going.

What difference does it really make if Jim and Pam just rekindle their friendship on the date/over the summer or if they go hardcore with a romantic relationship? Both of those things are freakin' awesome! At a minimum we are going back to S1 and 2 JAM, which was amazing, and there may be even more than that. Either way, this is so great! So do not lose that optimism even if you really think, being realistic, that S4 will start with JAM just being friends.

As for the bets, I think I can make a case for Team Awesome in bet #2 (Kevin's pro/con talk, Michael's statement that he shouldn't take his girlfriend's job, the receptionist at corporate, Karen asking Pam to make copies, Jim coming to the realization on his own, and of course Pam's yogurt lid note). That's 6 separate people and I think we said you only needed 5 to win. So I lost part 1 and won part 2 and I'm off to get a Karen signature now. Is this OK, Queenie and Pam Halpert?

I think we will get to talk about this on the JP and PD. But I just keep saying, remember GWH! Jim and Pam have been through way to much this season, I would just be very upset if we come back and they are in a full blown relationship. Anywho, I will think and talk more about this later oh those threads!!

I think almost everyone had a small part to play with Jim and he coming to his wonderful conclusion! Even corporates secretary. ...with her Dunder Mifflin this is .. whatever her name was...

I so not know.. all I know it that i wil change my advatar to karen... but I really call Jim at that door.. the cute little tap on that door frame!! wub.gif

Maybe we should define a full-blown relationship. Are we talking purely in terms of physicality? Jam will have a relationship that is bigger than anything they've had in the past. They'll see each other on a social level now, not just at work. They'll spend time together at each other's places, they'll talk on the phone, they'll go out to lunch instead of staying at the office. They'll be each other's best friends and more. I don't think they'll be able to spend time together without spending all their time together.

But, I do think that they'll wait a bit for the physical. Even though they have a HUGE history together, it's been a while since they've interacted the way they used to. Plus, don't forget that the only person Pam's ever been with is Roy, so she might be more hesitant than Jim.

All this said, however, we have about 3-4 months before the premiere. If we come into a full-fledged relationship on the premiere, I won't be complaining! biggrin.gif

Oh, and good morning everyone! I have a JAMover! How bout y'all? wink.gif

Oh my gosh!! Can you sign all our names and tell her speedy recovery from everyone here who loves her guts!!

I have to tell you that my kids prayed for her last night to get better. And my husband keeps asking for updates on her recovery (like I am totally tight with her.) WHO DOESN'T LOVE PAM??

Wouldn't you all love to see a 1 hour long episode this summer called THE DATE? Just for us diehards who will love the show through **** and back for our JAM??? I have requested it on the thread for letter to NBC. I am just positive they'll agree, don't you think??
Cathyg
Now as far as paying up winning part one and losing part two; can anyone help me draw a stick figure of Karen? That is, inequivocably, as far as I'm willing to go in any way shape or form to promote her. A stick figure with stringy black hair. And definitely standing alone. Maybe with an expression that reads "Dunder Mifflin Scranton - I just don't get that place".

Two Things.

1) When Pam said "Absolutely I do" to Dwight, I first remembered that was exactly what Jim said in the Alliance and then immediately thought....wait for it.... when they finally get married in the series finale in about eleventy billtion years:

Officiant: Jim do you take Pam to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold......
Jim: Absolutely I do.
O: Pam, do you take Jim to be your ......
Pam: Absolutely I do.

Now wouldn't that be full circle?!?!? wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif Please TPTB--hear my suggestion!

2) I can't stop watching the replay of the JAM scene at the end. I need to get a grip.

OMG, I just realized this but I'm pretty sure Jim answered "Absolutely I do" to Karen on the street in NYC when she asked him if he realized there were 1 too many people in Scranton. OMG! At the same time Pam was giving that answer to Dwight, Jim was giving it to Karen. Karma!

Don't worry, we all lost our grips last night! I've watched that scene so much, that I know it by heart. THE WHOLE THING. Starting with "OK. Well, we want whoever takes this position to be here for the long haul. So, where do you see yourself in 10 years?"

YES!!!!!!!!!!

Or they could add it to the S3 DVD.

Bees, I am more than okay with no one winning the second bet. I think that is the most fair conclusion at this point since when it comes down to it, it was our beautiful FNB who did the dirty work. If anyone has any reasons why they think their team is the winner though, I'd be open to listening to your arguments why, but you'll have to be convincing. wink.gif

In the mean time, I know none of us are happy about having to display a Karen, Sad Jim, or Jaren signature after last night, but let's remember that we did go all in on this one, and lets all honor our wagers whether we won or not.

Towards the end of the betting, we did up the stakes. For each bet lost, the sig was to stay up one week. However, since obviously no one is happy about being a loser after last night, we can go back to the original bet of three days. I'll leave that up to you guys.
poorman'sMichaelScott
I'm fine with that, but I'm really having a hard time finding Jaren pics! Which, I mean, c'mon, when have they been in demand before? laugh.gif
bubblewrap_1
So I'm a bit confused. Since no one got the second part right does that mean everyone has to change their signature? Or are we just going by the first bet?
jimswife4life
I think Team Sandals has a case. Although it was not Michael's chain of events, it was Jim's New York experience which leads him back to Pam. He was shown thinking of her in NY, leaving New York and going straight to her. If I need to I could make a case for a Michael chain of events that didn't necessarily happen in this episode but did play a part!

Yes! That's what I'm talking about! And I stated when choosing Team Sandals that I didn't think it would be Michael but Jim making the decision while in NY! So, please let me just have my sad (actually more angry) Jim sig! Pretty please?! Cause honestly, I can't find any Jaren pics! They don't exist! (Thank heavens for that!) laugh.gif
queenofengland
well I don't know if I can decide on whether Team Sandals won, since that kind of puts me in a bad position (I don't want to be accused of ending the game while I'm ahead...ala Michael in Basketball)
I think we're all adults here and can use the honor system to post the sigs we feel that honor our wager. Is everyone okay with that? No one's keeping tabs here.
poorman'sMichaelScott
Sounds good to me! biggrin.gif
jimswife4life
Michael's fringe chain of events:

1. He told Jim about the job opening in NY, causing him to go there!
2. He arranged the Coal Walk, which gave Pam courage.
3. Michael wished for Pam to have courage in WA.
4. Michael left the Office in Office Olympics to go buy his condo, during which time Jim died of boredom, Pam had to revive him, hence the Olympics and the yogurt lid medals.
5. Michael's fixation with Jan's breasts caused her to get an enhancement, which then caused Kevin to compare Karen and Pam's to Jim, and you know that is a factor! biggrin.gif

That's all I have for now until I rewatch the episode later. But I am sure there are other links in the chain that other members of Team Sandals could add!!

Michael let Jaren off early in order to go to the city, where they had their talk about moving there together, which when David asked Jim his 10 year plan, Jim realized didn't include Karen the way her's included him.

Yes! That's what I'm talking about!!

I have a poem all ready for sad Jim!!

Maybe since Beeswax is the mod she can decide, so Queen doesn't look like she's ending the game while ahead.

So is that to say that you don't remember "What did you like most about that place? The friendships"? tongue.gif J/k with you. I must have watched that 15 times myself since I first noticed it up.

I just don't want to make a call and then be told I'm being impartial. I honestly think that everyone will be okay with making their own call. If you believe in your heart of hearts that your team won and that the character you chose played a role in getting Jim and Pam together, then go with that. Like I said, we're all adults here and no one is keeping tabs on anyone else.
MarkedArm
I am still in a state of shock. WOW!!! OMG!!! (repeat x1000000)

So I lost both bets and I am so happy that I did. About 1/4 way through I thought I was going to win at least one but I was terrified.

I won't bore anyone with my strange evening and all of my efforts to watch the show the last night (an impromtu bird funeral was involved though). Let's just say, gatorjenni, you saved me last night. I couldn't get to the store yesterday in time to buy a VCR, but I found out my MIL had 2 (both of which she didn't know how to use to record). I showed up at her house with VHS tapes, a coaxial cable, and an RCA cable. I got it to work smile.gif And my MIL was thrilled as well because then she could record Grey's Anatomy at 9. And her husband was happy too because now they can record whenever they want. Win - Win - Win - Win (Extra win in there for JAM)

It worked beautifully. We didn't sit down to dinner until 7:55 (which is exactly what I knew would happen.) I watched it as soon as I got home (actually had to borrow one of the VCR's so I could watch at home). Then, as soon as my hubby fell asleep, I watched it again. And again this morning while I was getting ready for work. So it worked out even better because I don't have to wait anxiously for iTunes.

I read all of the suggestions and the vcr is your best bet. You are going to be interrupted at someone else's house, fo shore.

I may eat my words, but JAM will be delicious tonight!

Bees, are you psychic? You were so right!!!!!

*side note: during my first viewing with the hubby, he was leaning on me and towards the end of the show, he sat up and said, "is that your heart pounding so fast?" I was a little embarrased and just grinned *

OK, off to work now.... and then onto make good on my bet. I don't even mind one bit that I have to have a JAREN sig.
Question: Is is just a sig, or is there poetry involved?

PS: I really wish I could've been here celebrating with you all last night. I was thinking of you guys all night and when I saw the yogurt lid I about died!
