Okay, I decided to go back and look at the descriptions of the wager categories. And, I actually think I can make a case for my Voldemort position.

Team Voldemort: These are people who think Karen will either make a huge mistake with Jim, or get sick of his indecision and call him out to be fair to both her and Pam.

In the end I really do think it was Jim remembering how much Pam means to him and finally seeing that the hypothetical had come to be reality. And so it was really Pam and Jim themselves. But I want at least partial credit for getting it right about Karen and her ultimatum. I will be fine with flying Karen's flag for another day just wanted to gloat a little wink.gif

Gloat away! Add it to your sig if you want, as well.

This is a time for joy and celebration!

A dawning of a new age of JAM.

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

Harmony and understanding
Sympathy and trust abounding
No more falsehoods or derisions
Golden living dreams of visions
Mystic crystal revalation
And the mind's true liberation
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius
The age of Aquarius
Aquarius!
Aquarius!

OK, so I watched it three times now...I just can't wait for the premiere...it really is going to be a long summer!!

I really like that part of the video where Jim ice skates backwards...he's just so cute. I know that's a totally random thing to like...kind of like watching him play basketball...but what can I say...he's sooo cute. And he ASKED PAM OUT ON A DATE!!! WOOO HOOO!
officeobsessed
Okay, I'm seriously thinking about how I could pull off going to that convention. My husband would seriously have me committed. How would my kids explain it to their friends? My RL friends would probably abandon me.

I am guessing there won't be any cast members there, it seems like it's all about advertising..Chrylser, etc. But wouldn't it be fun if we all got to meet each other in person, experience life in Scranton and kvell about The Office?? I always thought Trekkies were weirdos. Now I'm starting to identify with them. Someone please help me!! wacko.gif

I hate to admit that despite my reassurances, I am worried to for the very reason you mention. We were all left so elated at the kiss at the end of CN and they yanked the rug out from under us in the first 20 seconds of GWH. But I don't think they'll do that again and all signs point to the fact that Ryan got the job. BJ's blog even said that he'll be Michael's boss. That's not to say that they won't throw some other curve balls at us, but the one thing I feel pretty secure on is that Jim will be back in all ways in September.

If Jim is in Scranton, then I am 100% sure only good things will happen for JAM. As Beeswax said, it is the dawning of a new era. They can be best friends. They can touch each other. They can hang out outside of work (too bad we prob won't get to see much of that!). Most importantly, everything they do won't be overshadowed by the fact that one of them is going home w/ someone else at night. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...I'm better now. wub.gif

QUOTE (HereComesTrouble @ May 19 2007, 10:17 AM) *
FNOR, there has been a lot of discussion about this job and whether or not it was really Wallace talking to Ryan, etc. But BJ was pretty clear in the live blog about Ryan's future as Michael's boss. I never bought that they were trying to throw us for a loop about who was on the phone with Ryan. But his confirmation is proof positive in my book. It makes sense when you think that they would want to hire a MBA fresh out of business school, and the job is not about sales, but about management. We heard alot about Ryan not making a sale because it was the only thing that Michael had "one-upped" him on. Ryan has been very ambitious, and I can see him doing a great job in the interview. There are lots of other reasons, but I wont go into them here. Go to the poll that Jazzman started about Who Got the Job? Officionada had a great post about it. Trust me, Jim did not take that job. It went to Ryan.

Thanks HCT. Sounds okay to me (anybody but Jim or KF!) - although I'm not a big Ryan fan & that will prob give me more reasons to not like him. And it'll be interesting to see how Ryan treats Jim since he always acted so snotty towards him. And poor Kelly! (Sorry, digressing again.)

QUOTE
I think what they did in GWH was not throwing us for a loop. I think that they went the way that the characters were leading the story. It was the natural progression of things. But we got positive outcomes of the kiss, not just negative. The most positive thing that came out of Casino Night was that Pam did not marry Roy. It was a huge plot point, and it didnt lead to her directly running to Jim, but the whole of season three allowed her to grow into the person who really deserved to be happy (with Jim or otherwise). No matter what, they are not going to end the season on such a positive note, and open it on a negative one.

Jim has never lost his feelings for her. They are both single now(well, we assume that Jim would not ask her out on a date if he had not broken up with Karen). We were left with them going out on a date and a positive proof that Jim was staying in Scranton and not going to NYC. That means that the characters are leading in the direction of forming a relationship. Never fear!!! We got good JAM in the finale, we will get better JAM in the premiere!

Awesome points, HCT! I believe! And I'm excited! Thank you!!! tongue.gif

So I casually mentioned to hubby that we could do that & BTW they might be having an Office convention. OMG!!!!

I just LOVE that song and it's connection to Tim and Dawn. That is THE perfect JAM video. That video is everything I want this thread to be about. Belief in the JAM force.

I have to post the lyrics

Only You- Yaz

Looking from a window above, it's like a story of love
Can you hear me
Came back only yesterday
I'm moving further away
Want you near me

Chorus
All i needed was the love you gave
All i needed for another day
And all i ever knew
Only you

Sometimes when i think of her name when it's only a game
And i need you
Listen to the words that you say it's getting harder to stay
When i see you

Chorus

This is going to take a long time and i wonder what's mine
Can't take no more
Wonder if you'll understand it's just the touch of your hand
Behind a closed door

Scranton is only about 6 hours away from where I live in Canada and it would be a great chance to get away as a couple.

Well said mybestfriend! I actually think of all the teams, yours came the closest to winning. Remember, Karen asked Pam to put together those sales reports. That's what gave Pam the opportunity to slip Jim the note, which led him back to her. I also think Karen leaving Jim at the first opportunity was a huge mistake. In the end I think you could argue that Karen has made numerous mistakes, but you don't have to sell me on it. I'm perfectly fine with you being the closest to winning the second bet. But that's just MHO.

BTW. . . .sorry I havent gotten my karen sig up yet. Havent' had time to make one yet (not that I am making anything spectacular or anything!) It will be up soon.

I am seriously considering the convention as well. I think it would be awesome, just to hang out with other flans if nothing else! But, just like the rest of you, my husband would think I had absolutely LOST it -- I am sure he would not want me to go. I already posed it to my husband today about going to The Office convention...he seemed receptive. He's always saying we need to do things and that would give us an excuse to go somewhere we have never been before. He'd probably be happy to stay with the kids while I run over for awhile. He did say he'd probably go if the cast were there...

Anyway, I wanted to ask all of your opinion on the JAM scene on the beach where Jim said that he wanted to be "not here". Do any of you think he meant not here, as in not in love with Pam...and then when he said he feels like even though he came back, he doesn't feel like he ever really came back...and there again he was talking about being in love with Pam? So when she said she wished he would, that was her way of telling him that if he did love her again, she'd love him back??? Or am I making way to much out of a couple little words??? So then all the way up until he walked in and asked her out on the date, he was finding his way back and coming back into love with her?? So, if this is true, then I think Jim is back in love with Pam and Pam is in love with Jim and that is only great news for JAM!!!

Also, I was thinking that since the documentary crew is there when Jim asks Pam out on their date, they will either come along or spy on them...which would give us a view into their first date on the premiere...

Good observation, but I think he meant he wanted to be "not here" as in he didn't want to stick around and watch the woman he was in love with marry someone else. Then his self-preservation model kicked in so he never really came back meaning, he was disconnected from Pam. I don't think he ever stopped loving Pam. I think he always did, but wasn't allowing himself to feel it.

As far as the documentary crew witnessing Jim asking Pam out--GREAT CATCH!! I bet we will get to see their date because of that. WOW!

WOW!

Right, that's kind of what I meant but it just didn't come out right. I think he has always loved Pam, but he didn't want to. (because of Roy, because he couldn't have her, because she shot him down). So he didn't want to be THERE...in love with her. And when he came back, he was trying not to come back fully because he knew he would be back THERE again, in love with Pam. So, I agree, he never stopped loving Pam, he just was suppressing those feelings to keep from getting hurt all over again. So basically that's what I was saying, only you said it better. I am just so excited about the prospects for next season I can hardly contain myself!

And yes, I do think we will see their date!! Wasn't Jim so cute and nervous when he burst into the room? But finally, he was able to ask her out on an official date...with no one else holding them back! AHHHHHH!!!

^^^ Just mentioned over on the JP thread that I cannot wait for SB's take on the choice of words Jim used. What the heck exactly did "not here" mean as it could mean a lot of things, although I lean towards your analyses above. What is truly wonderful is what Pam says back and how she says it. It is not insignificant that this is what seems to be going through his mind when he is in the interview.

Also, between BG and TJ, Pam made a number of references to the past three years plus the fact that in her campfire speech she used the words "since I met you" referring to why she called off her wedding. So I guess we can assume that Pam finally realized that she was into Jim from the start.

So in truth, the big DATE is actually their third date. First was their lunch when Jim first started (his best date/worst date), the date on the roof, and then the finale dinner date wub.gif

I have been staying away from the JP thread, especially the last couple days before the finale, because it was too depressing for me! But, I am looking forward to SB's analysis of the whole episode too!!

I am heading over to the new first date thread to check out what people are saying over there...I started to read some and looks positive over there. I think I will sway between here and there this summer!!

Hey
I posted this on the Job thread but thought i would try here too. It goes back to deleted scene #2 w/ Pam and Kelly

I am wondering more about this too now I see deleted scene #2 and Kelly tells Pam that Jim isnt into her and responds with "I know, we talked about it and he told me" ??? Ok what?? When did this happen? on Beach Day? I am not getting that. I am worried that this deleted scene means he DID tell her that and that the date isnt the date we think that it is. Oh lord its going to be one long awful summer.

I think that Pam knows Jim is into her and just doesn't want to talk about it with the office bimbo!

I think there must have been some conversation at the beach between Jim and Pam along the lines of how Jim is now with Karen and can't be with Pam...because in the opening scene with Pam's talking head and they flash back to the beach scene and she says that Jim said he misses her friendship too and that she would always mean a lot to him...that's a bit dismissive ... But I think that was when he was still trying to figure out what it all meant. I think by the time he asked Pam out on the date that a lot of events came together to show him that with Pam was where he was meant to be. So...I wouldn't worry...they're having a REAL DATE and they will be a couple next season. I just don't realistically see it any other way!!

Kelly seriously has no business offering relationship advice...and she got hers at the end when Ryan so uncerimoniously dumps her!!! Bye-bye Kelly Kapur!

Its a real date. At that moment when they talked after BG they were still just friends. The seeds were sown in Jim with Pam's speech, but at that point they agreed that they have missed the friendship and decided to get that back.
The events during TJ are what finally broke down that last wall for Jim. He saw clearly how Karen wasn't really the woman he wants to be with. From smiling at the receptionist when she answered the phone, seeing the gold medal, and thinking about Pam when asked where he would like to be in 10 years, I think the light in his head finally clicked on. Jim rolled out, by himself, and the first thing he did was find Pam and ask her out on the date..no matter what she was doing at the time. It is for sure a real date so look forward to S4 with cheer not fear=)

GREAT video. I saved it to my YouTube favorites. biggrin.gif It puts all of the beauty of Jim and Pam's relationship over the past three seasons into three minutes, plus I liked how they used the song that was playing when Dawn and Tim finally got together. Loved it!

It is exciting!

I put all my faith in the writers for the season finale and it payed off big time. I love that this is a haven for Jammers and let's hope we can keep the groovy feeling lasting all summer.

JIM AND PAM ARE DATING!!!!!!

Sorry, I just had to yell that.
Pam_Halpert_1
LOL...

I am in giddy mood today because I just watched my other season finales and they were depressing.. I MEAN depressing not one bit of happiness in them

So I watched The Job agian, and just smiled!! The writers gave us a happy happy episode to have all summer, unlike the rest of TV land!!

YAY! I think I am going to go watch S2 agian, some how I think it will feel different now.. you know knowing that He asked her out on a date instead of goes to NY with Karen!

Me too! I watched two other season finales between last night and today, and OMG, I wanted to slit my wrists. The Office gave us the only happy finale.

Does anyone remember how sad you were when Pam's voiceover talks about how it's okay if he never comes back and we see Jim with his Jimpurse in NYC? I was starting to lose it and then... bam, he is there. Squee heard 'round the world. If you haven't read it, I recommend GMMR's review - as she says the universe shifted. Best ending ever.

In sad news... My computer died this morning, so.. I do not know what is going to happen right now, but just sad.gif

Thank goodness the libray is close to my house!

Not the "Brian and Angela visit Scranton" thread, but wanted to share these with you all.

Me, Angela and my daughter. Love my bifocals falling over my nose! dry.gif Doesn't Angela look adorable with bangs?

With our favorite M and M hoarder

My cap I had autographed. Rainn had signed it in December. When Angela saw it, she said, "I'll sign next to my sweetie." Awwww! BTW, she took the get well card for Jenna. I put as many names on it as I could from this thread, the spoiler AA thread, as well as SB and the JP/PD regulars. She said Jenna's doing better, that she (Angela) has been with her this week, and that she should be fine, but will be pretty sore for a couple of weeks. I told her to tell her that our thoughts and prayers are with her.

After the brunch, my daughter and I wanted to hit a few famous spots. Here's that famous bar where RAM ended quite abruptly.

T-shirts for sale. I bought a whorish green one. Notice the repaired mirror. wink.gif

Off to check out Lake Scranton! Only got lost once...there is no sand to put your blanket down on. Just a wall to sit on. Otherwise it's all woods and bushes right up to the water's edge. Guess you couldn't have a coal walk there.

I HAD to do it!

Finally we drove out to Dunmore for a late lunch at this cute little place. Someone once mentioned to me that the bread there is VERY good. laugh.gif

Hope you enjoyed the pics. I have some video too of Brian and Angela's speech at the brunch. I will try to upload that later on. The internet connection at the hotel isn't the greatest.

Thanks so much for sharing these pics with us here! How awesome is that!

I clapped when I saw Cugino's. The first best/worst date location.

Oh, and dipping your feet in Lake Scranton. Perfect!
