New JAM Video

Hey Vinny V. what episode is your sig video from where Jim is following Micheal and seems to be doing some kind of "West Side Story" Jets/Sharks dance move?

Thanks.

Guys, Angela and Brian are sitting at the next table over from us literally!! Having breakfast. When they came into the ballroom Angela walked right up and shook my hand! Last night they were out late visiting Poor RIchards,Farleys and Coopers. More later...excited!!

LUCKY!!!

EverybodyHurts, you ARE so lucky!! I hope you have your camera too! Thanks for giving us all of these updates - please keep them coming!!

I wanted to give props to everyone for your uber-creative KF sigs. I don't really know how to do those, so I did what I could. (Are there instructions anywhere? I prob won't do a fancy KF sig, but I would love to have a nice JAM one!!)

On another note, I need some reassurance. (Sorry, I know this is the positive JAM thread, so please don't throw things at me.) I just watched the end for the 15th or so time, and it suddenly hit me that we don't know for sure that Jim didn't take the NY job. So there is a cliffhanger. Please tell me how crazy I am for thinking this b/c I want them together more than anything, but now I feel like I've fallen back into classic JAM angst - happy one minute, anxious the next. HELP!!

I really don't think the writers will take Jim away again. They already did that this season. Plus, watch his face in the interview. He does not want to be in NY, Je wants to be in Scranton with Pam. Even if he is offered the job he wont take it. This is the summer of JAM... enjoy It!!!! I know this season has programmed us to doubt, but you just gotta believe. "It's a DATE". giggle. Enjoy this... it's real.

I love this video and I love this song. I had it on replay for like 2 hours the day of the finale trying to get myself pumped up.

Well said mybestfriend! I actually think of all the teams, yours came the closest to winning. Remember, Karen asked Pam to put together those sales reports. That's what gave Pam the opportunity to slip Jim the note, which led him back to her. I also think Karen leaving Jim at the first opportunity was a huge mistake. In the end I think you could argue that Karen has made numerous mistakes, but you don't have to sell me on it. I'm perfectly fine with you being the closest to winning the second bet. But that's just MHO.

And she made that snarky comment about not feeling sorry for Jan. That's when Jim realized Karen was " Kind of a bi*ch". And we all know how "warm" Pam is.

QUOTE (sedimentary @ May 19 2007, 02:33 PM) *
Anyway, I wanted to ask all of your opinion on the JAM scene on the beach where Jim said that he wanted to be "not here". Do any of you think he meant not here, as in not in love with Pam...and then when he said he feels like even though he came back, he doesn't feel like he ever really came back...and there again he was talking about being in love with Pam? So when she said she wished he would, that was her way of telling him that if he did love her again, she'd love him back??? Or am I making way to much out of a couple little words??? So then all the way up until he walked in and asked her out on the date, he was finding his way back and coming back into love with her?? So, if this is true, then I think Jim is back in love with Pam and Pam is in love with Jim and that is only great news for JAM!!!

Also, I was thinking that since the documentary crew is there when Jim asks Pam out on their date, they will either come along or spy on them...which would give us a view into their first date on the premiere...

Once again. Great Flans think alike. I was discussing this with a RL friend earlier today, and this is an exerpt from the email I sent her this morning.

I loved how they cut back to the beach scene at the end. The dialog was so
loaded. The first time I watched I took it for face value, but now i see a
deeper meaning.

Jim: The real reason I went to Stamford is because I wanted to be not
here. (Here= being totally in love with Pam, stagnant and miserable.)

Pam: I know. (She knows that she is the reason why he left and why he has
changed so much.)

Jim: And even though I came back, I just feel like I've never really come
back. (Even though he came back to Scranton, he has not allowed himself to
fall back into love with Pam again. He has not allowed himself to be
vunerable again and has put up a wall to protect himself. This is his way
of rejecting her gently. Saying that he just does not feel the way he used
to.

Pam: Well, I wish you would. ( I wish you would love me again because I'm
ready to love you back.) Watch Jim's face when she tells him this. He
knows that is exactly what she is saying.

QUOTE (BrosBeforeHoes @ May 19 2007, 03:42 PM) *
Hey
I posted this on the Job thread but thought i would try here too. It goes back to deleted scene #2 w/ Pam and Kelly

I am wondering more about this too now I see deleted scene #2 and Kelly tells Pam that Jim isnt into her and responds with "I know, we talked about it and he told me" ??? Ok what?? When did this happen? on Beach Day? I am not getting that. I am worried that this deleted scene means he DID tell her that and that the date isnt the date we think that it is. Oh lord its going to be one long awful summer.

Read the above. I think the exchange we saw at the beach between Pam and Jim was him gently telling her he did not feel the same way anymore, but then he has a moment of clarity in NY and everything changes.

QUOTE (sedimentary @ May 19 2007, 04:17 PM) *
I think that Pam knows Jim is into her and just doesn't want to talk about it with the office bimbo!

I think there must have been some conversation at the beach between Jim and Pam along the lines of how Jim is now with Karen and can't be with Pam...because in the opening scene with Pam's talking head and they flash back to the beach scene and she says that Jim said he misses her friendship too and that she would always mean a lot to him...that's a bit dismissive ... But I think that was when he was still trying to figure out what it all meant. I think by the time he asked Pam out on the date that a lot of events came together to show him that with Pam was where he was meant to be. So...I wouldn't worry...they're having a REAL DATE and they will be a couple next season. I just don't realistically see it any other way!!

Kelly seriously has no business offering relationship advice...and she got hers at the end when Ryan so uncerimoniously dumps her!!! Bye-bye Kelly Kapur!

Yes, he was hesitant on the beach, but later we had front seat tickets for the crumbling of Jim's wall. All he needed was that one memory of OO to remind him how he used to feel. Then he realized that he could have everything he ever wanted with pam. He has his revelation and it's Jam On!!! I woulden't worry about these two. They both know what they want

I put all my faith in the writers for the season finale and it payed off big time. I love that this is a haven for Jammers and let's hope we can keep the groovy feeling lasting all summer.

JIM AND PAM ARE DATING!!!!!!

Sorry, I just had to yell that.

Shout it from the mountain tops!!!! This is a summer of celebration! We should come up with lots of Jam related "funtivities" to keep us held over till september.

Once again Everybodyhurts, you are the luckiest flan of all the flans!!!

I have been staying away from the JP thread, especially the last couple days before the finale, because it was too depressing for me! But, I am looking forward to SB's analysis of the whole episode too!!

I've read JP/PD since Thursday & it's seems fine now. Honestly, I think 1-2 people started getting way too 'real life' in their analyses & that started harshing the JAM mellow. I hadn't read for a couple of weeks, but I think the regulars are missed now & I feel bad for SB. So I'll probably go back & try to make it a more positive place - please join me!

I honestly think the point of that scene was to show the irony b/t what happened w/ Jim/Pam & what happened w/ Ryan/Kelly. Even though Kelly is a spaz & was mean to Pam in The Job, I feel bad for her - Ryan is such a user.

LOL. Mine does that to me too. He's not a big talker, so sometimes if he's quiet, I'll ask him what he wants to talk about. He of course says nothing in particular, but when I start talking about TO, he rolls his eyes. "DUDE, you didn't have a topic!!" laugh.gif

QUOTE (mybestfriend @ May 19 2007, 04:47 PM) *
oes anyone remember how sad you were when Pam's voiceover talks about how it's okay if he never comes back and we see Jim with his Jimpurse in NYC? I was starting to lose it and then... bam, he is there. Squee heard 'round the world. If you haven't read it, I recommend GMMR's review - as she says the universe shifted. Best ending ever.
OMG, my fav part of that ^^, "Oh and of course what does Season 4 hold in store for Jim Halpert and Pam Beesly? Will we be deprived of witnessing their early courtship? How will the writers keep their relationship as fresh, interesting, and as special as it has been since we first met them. Call me crazy, but I think Season 4 will prove to be important for all future TV couples. Gone will be the days of the curse of "Moonlighting". The Office will prove that you can have your favorite couples together without it being the downfall of the show. Jim and Pam will continue to be lovable, romantic, funny and angsty…and most importantly NOT BORING. Just wait, you'll see." THAT is the most awesome thing I've read. wub.gif

Not the "Brian and Angela visit Scranton" thread, but wanted to share these with you all. YAY!!

Doesn't Angela look adorable with bangs? YES!!

BTW, she took the get well card for Jenna. I put as many names on it as I could from this thread, the spoiler AA thread, as well as SB and the JP/PD regulars. She said Jenna's doing better, that she (Angela) has been with her this week, and that she should be fine, but will be pretty sore for a couple of weeks. I told her to tell her that our thoughts and prayers are with her. Thanks for doing that! I thought about sending a card too - anyone know where I can get some kind of mailing address for Jenna?

Off to check out Lake Scranton! Only got lost once...there is no sand to put your blanket down on. Just a wall to sit on. Otherwise it's all woods and bushes right up to the water's edge. Guess you couldn't have a coal walk there. So it's not Lake Wallenpaupack?

Finally we drove out to Dunmore for a late lunch at this cute little place. Someone once mentioned to me that the bread there is VERY good. laugh.gif OMG OMG OMG OMG - I love that place! I hope that's where Jim/Pam went on their 3rd date (since they already went there on their 1st & the roof was their 2nd)!

Hope you enjoyed the pics. I have some video too of Brian and Angela's speech at the brunch. I will try to upload that later on. The internet connection at the hotel isn't the greatest. You are da bomb, EH!! You rock!!

LOL Also Ausellio ( sp?) said that he might have to start doing more things on teh office becasue GG and VM is cancled. LOL makes me laugh!

I am so glad the office gave us this great present! I am starting to get a fanfic idea! I am thinking just a normal day in the office, with a season 4 twist! wink.gif

Also The PD and JP are happy good places now! Do not worry! It might not be as happy as here, but it is not to bad I promise! smile.gif

^^^ Loved your posts Lemonade and FNOR. And thanks Vinny for the vid link.

I wanted to weigh in on the JP and PD thing - I think it's safe to go back in the water as things seem to have calmed down. I was posting there earlier today and all was fine.

My favorite new obsession is figuring out the turning point for Jim. Over on the JP, one of the questions was when would his wall come down and/or would he figure out what Pam was really saying. My theory is I think he was not fully aware of the full meaning of what Pam said until he thought about the beach conversation again and Pam's, "well, I wish you would". When you watch the video of Jim thinking back notice his smile when he remembers this. Her campfire confession was all past tense - I shouldn't have been with Roy -- you're with someone now - etc. - it isn't until she says the wish you would line does she re-open the door and put it into the present.

Thanks. Truth be told I had no idea SB had said anything on the subject. I just picked up on it after watching the last two minutes over and over again last night. The JP and the PD have been breaking my heart latley and I have been staying away for self preservation. I will have to check out her Jim analysis though. I am dying to get inside his head after Thursday's episode. I want to know the entire thought process that brought him back to Pam... *giggles like a school girl*.

OT: I am in the middle of watchin DD and Pam just fell asleep on Jim's shoulder. Sigh. We are gonna get that kind of magic back in S4!!! Only, this time it will be for real. You guys should really go back and watch s1 and 2. It's so much sweeter seeing these little moments and knowing they are together now.

Tonight is their third date! I know that after re-connecting on the first date they will want to spend every night after that together. smile.gif. They wont be able to be apart!!!
Pam_Halpert_1
I was just going to add a quick comment about when Jim "broke" I think when he saw the memo it came all flooding back in. His conversation at the beach, his events of the day, Pam's speech, that day he got that medal! That smile he has is even bigger becasue I think that is when the wall fell and he just realized he can come back, Pam wants him back, she knows he can come back, he remembers those times, and he sees where he is going and it is not where he wants to be. That memo was the spark that let the danm break!

Yeah, I keep watching the scene with Jim in his interview and you can see when he says friendships, he is just thinking about that day, and everything else!!! wub.gif

( my friend is yelling at me to get off her computer.. she does not understand my need.. sigh)

Ok, this guy is a loon. but makes some interesting points. However, I think it's just too far-fetched and people would not be happy. Seeing Karen all over Ryan in the office to try to make Jim jealous while it is really only making Kelly jealous would be hilarious, but I think seeing Ryan trying to control Michael and try, without success, to improve the company is going going to be insanely funny and offer a lot for the writers to go on and us to watch. Besides, the Karen/Jim tension can be just as good without Karen/Ryan.

I think the show is very sustainable without the love tension. There will be some tension between Jim and Karen, but it won't be a big theme. Just as long as they don't try to stretch it out like they did with Niles/Daphne on "Fraiser" (sp) I'll be happy.

Ryan/Michael, Karen/Jim, Jim/Pam, Dwight/Angela, Kelly/Nobody; the possibilities are endless and it's all going to be great.

I dont want to hear you say her name ever again
(And again and again and again!)

Shes like so whatever
You could do so much better
I think we should get together now
And thats what everyone’s talking about!

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I dont like your girlfriend!
No way! No way!
I think you need a new one
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I could be your girlfriend

Hey! Hey! You! You!
I know that you like me
No way! No way!
No its not a secret
Hey! Hey! You! You!
I want to be your girlfriend

In a second youll be wrapped around my finger
Cause I can, cause I can do it better
Theres no other
So when's it gonna sink in?
Shes so stupid
What the **** were you thinking?!

To continue with my obsession, I watched the entire season 3 today(Gotta love DVRs) and its way less painful than when we suffered through it in real time. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif I highly recommend it. Rather than sad tears, I cried happy tears! I love you Greg daniels. (I take back all the bad things I thought of you this year)

Also, side note. I love the "Only You" you tube video. It gave me the same dorky smile as the 2nd to last scene in The Job. SIGH. Perfection.

First off, EH, your pics are awesome! Thanks so much for sharing them! I really, really want to go to the convention now. My husband said I am crazy for thinking it -- Scranton is like 16 hours away. And my one real life office-obessesed friend will have just had a new baby, so I dont know who I would go with. But I am really considering it! Seriously!

Ok, I dont have anything else to add. Off to watch the new fanvids on YouTube. (I heard there is one to Girlfriend already with TJ footage; I will look.)

Tonight is their third date! I know that after re-connecting on the first date they will want to spend every night after that together. smile.gif. They wont be able to be apart!!!

I agree. If we pick back up in real-time then the whole summer will be theirs. I really don't see them spending many evenings alone now that they can finally see each other on their terms. Also, the nights they can't spend together I think a phone call will be in order.

I just think after 3 years of bad circumstances and bad choices, they are now in the clear to be what they really want to be...best friends and two people made for each other.

I have no idea how S4 will start, but I for one would like to see them not do the 'real-time' thing. The reconnecting at the beginning could make for some fantastic TV. But if we get a good no angst year of them together I will have no complaints=)

- it isn't until she says the wish you would line does she re-open the door and put it into the present

Mybestfriend, I know I'm late to the party here but I would like to weigh in. I actually interpret Jim's surprise at Pam's comment ("well I wish you would") as being shock. I think HE thought it was a secret to everyone that he wasn't "back". I think he fully expected Pam to say "I don't know what you mean, Jim". The fact that she GOT that he wasn't back floored him. Also, as you say, the smile in the interview is when he realizes that not only CAN he "go back", but he's going to. No matter what the cost, he's "going back". Literally, and of course, figuratively.

There's a lot of corroborating evidence for Jim, other than Pam's "I wish you would" comment: her approval of his hair, her approval of his job search, the memo with the yogurt lid, etc. Everything points to the fact that she KNOWS him and loves him ANYway. (A huge theme in romantic love: being known, and loved in spite of it).

Oh, and there's the fact that he loves her. That didn't hurt the epiphany either.

Ah, this obsession is good fun, no??? biggrin.gif

Obsessing is half the fun for sure!

I also noticed in the flashback to the talk at the beach that there is a seven-second silence after Jim's statement about having not come back and Pam's "I wish you would" - reminded me of the famous 27 second of silence. This time, though, Pam didn't let the silence just hang there, she stepped up. I think those words were the turning point. As I said earlier, everything else she'd said that night was all past tense like she was just setting the record straight. By putting it into the present, Pam let it be known that if he decided to come back either literally or figuratively, she'd be there. Ah, lovely.

Oh man, I could just watch the last part of The Job over and over.

I think my dream would be to splice the last 5 minutes of CN with the last 5 minutes of TJ and watch it on a loop. Those scenes just have it all.

Also, I've never really had a girl crush on anyone, but I'm developing one for Pam. I just can't get over what an amazing character she is. I loved everything about her in TJ and every TH was a jewel. Jim is in for the ride of his life with FNB.

Excellent observation MBF. Pam gave Jim something he was not able to give her last May. Instead of running away after his initial rejection, she stuck around and held her head up high. She did not give him an ultimatem. She understood his dilema and was willing to except whatever he had to give her. She gave him the gift of time. She let him know she would be there no matter what, and I think that is exactly what he needed to know.

I know what you mean Beeswax, I keep watching it over and over. It is just so perfect. I woulden't change a thing about it!! I didn't get my kiss, but in retrospect I am so glad I didn't! Him coming back and asking her out was so much better. A kiss leaves things open to interpretations, but a date is unmistakable. The fact that he asked and she said yes is so much more honest and perfect.

And yes, I think I have a bigger crush on Pam than I do on Jim at this point. She is just SO AWESOME!!! I wanna be just like Pam when I grow up.

Jim is gonna love FNB even more than he loved the old Pam. She is everything now that he always thought she could be. I get so excited thinking that he is rediscovering all these wonderful things about her.

This is required viewing for this thread! It enriches the whole JAM story in TJ. Hearing Jim say "Absolutely, I do" and seeing all of the medals being handed out and then seeing that memo fall out of the folder: priceless.

Question: Do you think that Jim and Pam will be boyfriend and girlfriend when S4 begins?

Answer: Absolutely, I do.

Reading your post made me think about how difficult it was to be a Jammer in S3. But now, with the events of TJ, it just makes Jim and Pam being together more meaningful.

They have both paid their dues with this relationship and now have a strong foundation in which to build upon.

Here you go.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Hey, Jim. It's Pam. I keep looking up to say something to you and then Michael's there and it's horrible. Anyway, I'm bored. Come back!

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Hey, guess what? I moved my computer so I can't see Michael's head. It's working. I think I can have a career as a very specific type of decorator.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Sudoku. Level moderate. 18 minutes. Suck on that, Halpert.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] I'll transfer you. Dunder Mifflin, this is Pam. Hold, please. Dunder Mifflin, this is ... okay, sorry. Michael was standing at my desk, and I needed to be busy or who knows what would've happened, so thank you.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Hey, what's that word we made up when you have a thing stuck in your shoe? Anyway, I have a thing stuck in my shoe.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Hey, I have a chance to sneak out of here early, and I'm not messing this up, so I'll see you tomorrow.

Pam: [voicemail message for Jim] Calling from my cell phone. I don't know if you guys figured out who did that to Michael's carpet yet, but I have a theory that involves an inter-departmental conspiracy. Everybody in the office. We need to talk.
