Thanks to the gift from QOE for making the 3000th post, I had the chance to meet with Jim regarding his upcoming date with Pam. I gave him all of your wonderful ideas for his first date and sent our collective best wishes.
He asked for advice about what to bring to Pam as a gift when he picks her up. He thought flowers would be nice and I told him that would be a good idea as flowers are always appreciated. But I suggested that he might also want to put a memory box together of things that would be significant of their journey. Pam had held onto her gold medal and that he should return this gesture.
I came up with a few ideas for the memory box but thought you would have some good ideas to add.
I suggested:
- A can of grape soda to show that even though he had evolved, he hadn't gone too far and some things always remain favorite and close to our hearts
- A can of coke as an emergency in case a jinx should ever occur so that they'd never have to go a day without talking again
- The card that he meant to include in with Pam's teapot Christmas gift. He wouldn't tell me what it said just that he'd signed it "Love, Jim".
So now it's your turn -- put on your thinking caps and come up with some other things that Jim should include

It was me who gave you the gift, but I'm honoured that you would mix up QofE and me, because she is the bees knees.
Anyhoo, I'm glad you had a good time with Jim and I love the memory box idea. I think there is a JAM Hopechest thread out there, but I like that we are pretending in here.
I would suggest that Jim put the following in the memory box:
- his ipod so that they can do some real swaying
- a coupon for the rental of a bouncy castle so that he can follow through with what he was thinking when he was smiling at Pam in ST
- keys to the supply closet (that's for you PH, I miss you when you don't have a computer!)
Oh, and something just dawned on me. If Pam kept the OO medal, she must have a little memory box somewhere of things that remind her of Jim. I wonder what she has kept?
