I love it, Bees! The season 3 scenes seem so much more worth it now that we know that they all led up to Jim and Pam finally going on a date. We should not have as much angst next season...but season 3 was a necessary evil to bring these two closer to heaven!!!

OK, I am now officially hooked on the fan fic, despite my best efforts to stay away. The lure was too strong, and I caved, thanks to Fancy New Office Rules' post above. So now I have a new obession to go along with my You Tube and Jam Therapy ones. How am I ever going to get any work done now??

Watching these videos really points out to me that not getting Jim and Pam together is practically criminal. I picked up the June issue of Oprah magazine in a waiting room this morning, and it had a section on season finales. I can't find it online so I have to paraphrase, it said something like: "fans who are looking for a Jim and Pam romance may be disappointed as Rashida Jones is back for season 4 and Pam is on a journey of self discovery." Are you KIDDING ME??? As far as I'm concerned, Jim and Pam are together now, beginning their beautiful relationship, whether Rashida Jones is in the cast or not. All of the will they or won't they crap went out the window for me the second Jim ASKED PAM OUT ON A DATE!!!!! Please someone convince me that the Oprah article doesn't mean anything.

What does Oprah know? She probably doesn't even watch the show.....Jim and Pam who?

I concur with besswax that it sounds like S3... And when you think about it, that is pure assumption/misleading on their part. They said "may" be disappointed, and only because Rashida will be in S4. Her being there has absolutely nothing to do with Jim choosing Pam over her. Let me rephrase. Even if she's there, we still know who Jim chose, and who he obviously wants to go out with. So them syaing that we'll be disappointed because Karen is there is a load of crapola. I think it'll be great to see Karen's reaction to JAM. And just because Pam is still "discovering" herself, it does not mean that Jim is out of the picture. For all we know, he could be helping her along by giving her that extra boost of confidence she needs. Why wouldn't he want her to be happy with herself? He loves her, and there's nothing that Karen or Oprah can do about that.

Karen and Oprah could rule the world with there evil anit- JAM plans.. and still Jim and Pam would find each other!! It is there destiny!!


On a side note: seeing Karen and Oprah in the same sentence made me gag.. I dislike them so very much. Actually I dislike Oprah more than I dislike Karen. But that is a personal problem

This awesome person took ALL of the JAM clips from the beginning & put them into different videos. There are 28 in all - all the way through The Job. (I am especially excited b/c hubby took S1&2 out of town this weekend & I was all ready to watch them!!)


Haha, sorry!! They sure are fun though, huh? I love that the writers of the various fan fics take us to places TPTB never do! Even though they're NOW a couple, we won't get to see every little interaction, which is what I want to see. YAY fan fic!


Okay, I didn't want to say anything here & risk harshing the JAM mellow, but I saw something similar to this the other day. (Stupid me, I figured there wouldn't be any real spoilers out there now so what would be the harm in clicking on that **** link on OT. HA! ) I was able to fight off the negative demons & will share my reasoning w/ you, so you too can spend this summer in JAM-love bliss.

1) TPTB would not have ended S3 w/ Jim saying "Then...it's a date" only to yank the rug from under us next fall. The word "date" will not be used lightly when referring to JAM. Jim called his first lunch w/ Pam his best/worst first "date." Then when he referred to their rooftop picnic as a "date," Pam got mad @ him. The fact that he called their post-The Job dinner a "date" is huge.

2) My bro-in-law (who loves to tease me) said, "How do you know they're going to be dating in the fall? Maybe it didn't work out." NO WAY. TPTB have spent 2-1/2 years setting up the JAM storyline. There is no way they will go out & think it wasn't fabulous & made to be. I definitely think they'll take things slow, but they will NOT go back to being just friends. Otherwise what have we been doing for 2-1/2 years?

3) I have been largely spoiler free since Phyllis' Wedding until (after the finale) I watched an interview w/ John & Jenna from the upfronts. The lady asked them what was going to happen w/ JAM, and Jenna said that more happens w/ Jan/Michael - completely downplaying what happened. My point: TPTB & actors will always mislead us b/c they don't want anyone to ever think they know what's going to happen b/c then they might not hang on every episode & drive ratings up. The spoiler I saw was a quote by Greg Daniels & he said something like TO is not going to be all about romance. I don't care if KF is back in the fall as long as she & Jim aren't dating & I don't care if the entire show isn't JAM all over each other (though I would love to see that, but then it wouldn't be TO). Doesn't the show do best in that 18-49 male demographic? Well, that's my hubby & his brothers & they don't want to see JAM all over each other non-stop. They'll tolerate sweet moments thrown in & I think that's what we'll get more of.

Sorry to go on & on, but I really do feel like the above reasons counteract any negative JAM thoughts. BTW, after I read that one spoiler, I swore off of spoilers FOR GOOD. I originally thought I would read them this summer, NO. I want to revell in my happy JAM thoughts, fan fic & YouTube videos. SO, YAY JAM!! Jim & Pam love each other. They are dating. Poo on anyone who thinks otherwise.

I don't see how the writers can get out of it this time. CN was very open ended, and we knew that there was a big chance Pam could reject Jim again. TJ, however, was different. Jim asked Pam out and she said yes! Both of these characters now know that they want each other, and they ARE going on a date.

We can all forgive Pam in CN for her mistake (after all she was about to get married to another man), but I think the audience would be a lot less forgiving this time around if it didn't work out. They would start to question whether these two were really meant to be together.

(I remember that I didn't care a thing about Ross and Rachel at the end of friends. The magic was gone. I did, however, care about Monica and Chandler. The couple that I was sure actualy loved each other.)

The date happened, so the only way the writers could get out of getting these two together would be to say that Jim and Pam were not connecting the way they used to. Poof... magic lost. Yeah, we might be faced with the return of Karen. We might be faced with strict rules on office dating, but do you think that that is going to stand in the way of JAM? These two love each other and they have waited long enough... they are going to fight for love. I don't see them giving up.

I just don't see a way of the writers getting out of this other than to admit that Jim and Pam aren't right for each other. They are not stupid enough to do this.

I was thinking it was safe to go back over to the Jam spoilers and spec thread. After all, there can't be any real spoilers out there yet, and I want to read all the spec. Is it safe guys?

Guys this is nothing to get worked up about. This was a blurb 'attributed' to Greg Daniels before the finale aired. Pam's journey was just that - the ability to finally find courage after 3 years. This was more of a foiler if anything. The article doesn't mean anything.

My opinion is that there is no place for Karen Fillipelli in S4.

There is no way she would stick around the Scranton branch after being dumped by Jim. Oh, and she was dumped by Jim, no question. She does not like Scranton and there is no reason for her to stay there.

Also, if they use the plot line of Karen staying to try and win Jim back, it would be ridiculous. Karen cannot win Jim back. Just like rock covers paper, Pam covers Karen. End of story.

I love TO because of it's ensemble cast, but if the writers try to break up Jim and Pam before they even have a chance, the show will have officially jumped the shark for me.

I really believe the writers will take the challenge of writing a funny, awkward and touching S4 with Jim and Pam as a couple. As we have discussed on this thread, JAM does not need to be grand gestures of romance. We are little JAM birds eager to devour the JAM crumbs that are thrown at us. A couple of looks between Jim and Pam will keep us going for weeks. Also, look at the "It's a date" line from Jim. That's going to keep us going all summer.

So, TBTB, listen up. I know you all read this thread everyday, so please make the right choice and let Karen find happiness in NY and let JAM roam free in S4!

I don't know how dirty we can get in this venue.

Lemoñadé, I agree with your whole post but especially wanted to highlight the above quote regarding Fr!*nds. I have thought about Monica & Chandler before in regards to Jim and Pam in that they were able to keep the show entertaining with them as a couple. I, like you, didn't care about R*ss & R&ch#l either by the end of the series, in fact, they kinda made me sick!

There is so much they can do with the JAM love story to keep it fresh and exciting. I'm not worried. Karen Filipelli is gone, gone, and GONE!

Pam still couldn't catch her breath after Jim closed the door to the conference room. She was frozen in her seat and couldn't begin to process what had just happened.

"Jim just asked me out" her brain was screaming!! She spent a few more minutes composing herself and smiling up the camera, and then finally sprinted to her desk, shut down her computer, grabbed her purse and headed out the door to prepare for her DATE WITH JIM!!!!!!

Just as she reached the elevator doors, she heard him.

"Pam!"

She turned around and he was still wearing his suit and he looked so tall and even with his new haircut he looked so...Jim.

He came towards her.

He cleared his throat and said, "So, we're still good for 7?"

"Yah, 7 is great."

"Ok, this is really embarrasing, but I don't really know where you live."

"Well, why don't you walk me to my car and I'll give you directions."

They both stepped into the elevator and they both stared at the ground. But, as the elevator doors closed, Jim and Pam lifted their head and locked eyes.

This was going to be an interesting night.

As she drove home she thought about what she would wear, how she would do her hair and more importantly what they would talk about.

She pulled up to her apartment so quickly she felt the tires scrape against the curb, and with shaking hands she unlocked her front door.
It had been so long since she felt that familiar flip in her stomach. Everything with Roy had become familiar so quickly, and for the first time in years she was overwhelmed with the possibilities ahead of her.

Jim was exhausted, but his mind was racing. As he drove home to get ready for Pam, he thought about the events of the day and couldn't believe the twist of fate that brought him to this moment.

Just this morning, he and Karen were in their hotel room getting ready for their respective interviews. He was nervous about meeting with David Wallace, but for some reason, he also felt at peace. Maybe it was because he knew if he didn't get the job, he'd just go back to Scranton. Pam.

In the back of his mind, he knew if Karen got the job instead of him, he wasn't going to move to New York. He wasn't ready to make that commitment. He also knew if he got the job, he wasn't ready to move to New York with Karen. "****," he thought. The events at the beach last week were really starting to have an impact on him. He was very confused, but he couldn't let himself think about it. He was not going to go down that road again.

When he saw Pam's note, all his confusion went out the window. That and Wallace talking about his ten-year plan. The rest of the afternoon was a blur. Meeting Karen at Bryant Park, finally being honest with her and doing what he should have done a long time ago. Yes, she was angry and hurt, but he knew in the long run he did the right thing and that sooner, rather than later she would understand and accept it.

And now here he was, going home to get ready for her. It was like a dream and Jim couldn't believe that it was actually true. He was going home to get ready for his date with Pam!

Jim walked in a daze to his apartment and stumbled through the door. The first thing he did was shed his suit and hop into the shower.

The water was beating down on his face and he was smiling.

A date. A date with Pam. This was really happening.

The events of the past week were swirling around in his head. The beach, New York, Karen, a yogurt lid, Pam...Pam.

As he washed the product out of his hair, he couldn't picture his life without her and he had a feeling that tonight was going to change his life forever.

Jim had not been so nervous since, when? Oh yeah, since Casino Night when he laid it all on the line, twice. Now here he was face to face with the door to Pam's apartment. He needed a minute to compose himself, wipe the sweat off his hands which was seeping into the stems of the flowers he gingerly held, and do a quick check of his back-to-normal Jim hair in the tiny little mirror right above Pam's doorbell. He did a few deep breaths and rang the bell. "Just a sec" her sweet, soothing voice called out from behind the barrier. A few minutes passed and the door was opened. The vision on the other side, literally took his breath away. "Pam," he said, his voice choked with emotion "Oh my God, you look incredible." Flowers still in hand, a single tear running down his cheek, he gathered the beautiful woman standing before him in his arms and held her until the feeling in his knees came back. He wasn't sure who stopped hugging first, it didn't matter, did it? This wasn't the mildly lame hug they shared at the beach, this was a hug full of love, full of promise, full of a year's worth of unexpressed thoughts and feelings. He took in her smell. Though he didn't know the name of it, he would recognize her perfume in a nanosecond, it was burned into his olfactory glands, he would sometimes conjure it up in his mind before drifting off to sleep...OK he was back in the moment now. As their embrace ended, he stepped back a few paces, held her soft hands in his and drank in the sight of her, head to toe. "Wow Pam, I can't believe I am here, we are here. I can't believe this is happening." A little awkwardly he handed her the flowers.

I see how it is, well in that case you get to eat at Buger King. Pam stuck her tounge out at him. Oh how Jim had missed that. He really had missed her friendship as well, it was almost of if he could feel his heart warming from the inside everytime he saw a twinkle in her eye. Yeah he thought to himself, I made the right decision.

He lead her to his car and she started laughing. What, Beesly? Oh it is nothing, I just. Beesly what? Well I have never really truly seen the inside of your car and it just looks so corporate. Jim gave her one raised eyebrow. We are going out to eat dinner and all you can think about is my car? Well Jim I have my prioites, she gave him a wink. Oh god Jim thought, this girl is going to be the death of me. Thanks for scaring me like that Beesly.
Pam looked over at Jim and suddenly relized that while she might be Fancy and New, Jim was still not all the way back yet, he was going to need some help. and Pam new just the right person to do that!

Jim opened the passenger side door for Pam and shut the door making sure she was settled in her seat. As he got in his side he noticed her sitting very still and staring straight ahead.

"Everything ok?", he asked.

"Ummm, I'm not sure," Pam replied.

Panic flashed in Jim's eyes. Did he read her wrong at the beach? What did he misinterpret this time?

With a nervous smile, Jim said, "Pam, what is it?"

Pam took in a breath and turned to face Jim.

"I...just have a few questions before we go any further."

"Okay..."

"Well, yesterday when you left for New York, you had a girlfriend."

"Ahhh, yes," Jim said as he cast his eyes downward.

"What I'm trying to say is that I just want to be clear about what's going on. We're going on a date, so does that mean that-"

"-that I'm free of previous commitments?" Jim interruped.

"Yes, I guess that's what I'm trying to ask... No, you know what? I don't want to mince words or play games here. Let's get it all out. Right here, right now. Jim, what the **** is going on?"

Oh & thanks to EVERYONE for all of the reassurances about that stupid spoiler talk. That is why this is called the JAM Therapy thread. We come here to feel good about the future of JAM. Our positive energy in S3 brought Jim back to Pam & now they are dating. It's all good.

You have some homework ahead of you.

What you need to do is study S1 and 2 Pam. She worked very hard at hiding her feelings for Jim. Roy didn't suspect a thing!
