This may have been posted here before, but it's a great one and the song lyrics are posted below. "Closer to You" by the Wallflowers:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=JCpnExcdyqE

Wallflowers – Closer To You

How soft a whisper can get
When you're walking through a crowded space
I hear every word being said
And I remember that everyday
I get a little bit closer to you

How long an hour can take
When you're staring into open space
When I feel I'm slipping further away
I remember that everyday
I get a little bit closer to you

These are the days
That I won't get back
I won't hear you cry
Or hear you laugh
And when it's quiet
And I don't hear a thing
I can always hear you breathe

You know there's nowhere else
I've wanted to be
Than be there when you needed me
I'm sorry too
But don't give up on me
And just remember that when you were asleep
I got a little bit closer to you

THAT was awesome.

Another one of my fave Jim faces was in that video. When Pam is showing Kelly how she wants to wear her hair and Jim is watching her in a trance.

Soooo dreamy.

Just wait until Jim and Pam have kids!

If you want to slip into a JAM alternate universe and see Jim as a dad, check out the fanfic Baby Talk by LoveFool. It's one of my faves and anyone who has kids can totally relate. It's very well written.

I know what you mean.

Those uncomfortable moments and fights are very familiar.

It should be interesting to see how much of Jim and Pam's relationship will be covered on the show. I have read that Jenna wants to have a baby and what if it's written into the show?

I guess they should get married before they procreate. Any guesses on when the engagement will happen?

I'm thinking February sweeps.

*sigh* This is JAM Therapy, so I'm going to share my fears. Part of me thinks we may never see a JAM wedding sad01.gif .

I think I just need to see them together in the first ep of S4, and then I will feel alright.

This is what I'd like to see happen at the beginning of S4:

I picture a double talking head with Jim and Pam giving a little synopsis of their summer and Jim whispering something in Pam's ear and Pam swatting him for being naughty. An inside joke shared by two lovers. I'd like to be a part of that someday.

That scenario is sweet, but (don't take this the wrong way) I hope we DON'T see that in the premiere. I am really, really hoping for a seamless transition from the finale to the premiere. I am thinking that the writers just may give us a break from real time and show us the first date, or at least the immediate aftermath. I just think it really works this time around to forego the timeline and just keep the story line going from where it left off.

Of course, if they choose not to, I totally hope we see your scenario, Bees! smile.gif

This is what I hope happens also. With 30 episodes, surely they can spare a little JAM catch up time. There are all the other stories too...Jan, Michael, Ryan, Karen...too much for THs and flashbacks. A few summer episodes could move smoothly into fall. We don't usually know the exact date on the show anyway, unless it's a holiday or something.

I like the scenarios mentioned above. Pam Halpert, why do you think no engagement? Party pooper!

I CAN NOT TAKE ANY MORE OF THIS JAMLESS SUMMER. I am having withdrawls. Must. have. jam.

I feel like I am stuck in a desert with no water. Or is it stuck in a dessert with no water? Either way, it would suck to be in a desert without water or in a dessert without water. Just like it sucks to be in the summer without JAM or The Office.

Apology not accepted. Because it wasn’t even necessary in the first place. j/k

They could come back in real time, but I just think that would be too good to be true.

As much as we get to see big moments caught on camera, there are also a lot of huge things we don't see. The writers seem to like to show the aftermath of incidents as well.

I should be doing report cards for my sweet grade ones, yet I'm distracted and overdosing on fanfic.

Well, I do make myself write comments for 5 kids at a time and then I reward myself by coming here or reading some fanfic.

It also helps that here in Canada we have double Office eps every Monday. We got GWH and The Injury this past Monday. Good times!

You are so lucky...do you get Mondays and Thursdays of The Office??

And why are you all still in school? Do you get a summer break?? First grade...I bet that's a fun age to teach!! My middle one starts Kindergarten this August...I am going to cry! But she desperately needs more than I can give her now!! She is going to be one of those that is the teacher's pet because she is so sweet and cute, but she will also drive the teacher crazy because she is intensely smart. Her smartness scares me! Can't you tell she didn't get it from me...smartness...ha ha huh.gif

Yes, we get Mondays and Thursdays. That's 3 eps a week, baby!

Our year goes from September to June, and we have 18 more school days left (not that I'm counting or anything)!!!

That's exciting about your middle child. She's going to love school, by the sounds of it.

Grade One is a fun age to teach. Oh, and here's something funny/scary. I was giving my kids a spelling test this week and one of the words was "more". I always say the word and then put it in to a sentence and here was my sentence:

More- "I don't want that, I want more than that".

Of course the kids have no idea about The Office, but it amuses me.

Sad but true.

That makes me very sad. Are you trying to make me cry?? sad01.gif Unless you mean they will run off and get married. And that I could handle. They come back as Mr and Mrs James Halpert... I am sure that's what you meant... whew.gif

I know!

Good times!

Okay, I will give a warning if you areally want me to tell you want I think.. I need 3 aye's

it is depressing I just warn you!.. well there is a little light

My middle child starts grade one (in Sept) and he's soo cute and charming and his kindergarten teachers (JK & SK) have both told me how much he makes them laugh and charms them! He gets it from his daddy and his name is Jonny (Jonathan)(daddy is a Jim, do I see a pattern here?), it must be that all the Johns get all the charm!!

Beeswax, you deserve a great summer!! I never appreciated teachers until I had my own children, and I commend you for loving other people's children!! My oldest, is in grade 2 and he has the most amazing teacher that I am going to cry at the end of the school year because she's a substitute for a teacher on maternity leave and she'll be moving on to bless another school so my other children will never benefit from her awesomes-ness. sad01.gif This is a teacher so dedicated she came to see my son perform in the Easter pageant in our church on Good Friday, a day off!! I am desperate to find a gift to let her know how much I appreciate her dedication and encourage her as a teacher, any ideas?

And finally the Canadians have something to brag about, the Office on Mondays!!! We need to meet here on Mondays Bees and revel in the bliss!! wub.gif

I am just curious - at the end of last year's season finale, did you think that Pam and Jim were going to be together the next year? Anything about this years finale that makes you think it more likely they really will?

You mean you guys will meet here and rub it in our faces!!! Oh well, we get deleted scenes here...tit for tit. laugh.gif (I hope you know I am just kidding). I am happy for you. Really. I am. And a wee bit jealous!

I think you should write her a really heartfelt note and let her know what you just told us...that her kind of dedication and attention to her students does not go unnoticed and that she is a rare and wonderful treasure!! I don't know of any gift other than the gift of words that would mean as much. But, Bees, since you are a teacher, perhaps you have a better suggestion!!

That's funny!! See, JAM pops into every day conversations!!

I wrote out the date today as 06-06-06 and didn't realize I was a whole year off...I was ready to have an 06-06-06 party! Seriously called my husband and he told me that would be nice, but it's 07. rolleyes.gif

I think I'll need to get started so that I can get the words just right! I think that words would mean a lot to her because as a substitute teacher she is new to the game and I truly hope that one day she finds a full time job as a teacher because she deserves it! Hopefully she finds her way back to our school.

Darn you dry.gif

Fine this is where I stand.

I really think that Jim and Pam are going to date and help eachother become who they need to be for other people. I really think that GD is going to go down the path where the last scene is Jim and Pam being friends but going separate ways knowing that they will always be important to one another.

I also think that if Jim and Pam are not friends and do not build there friendship back up this season then JAM will fail. Jim is to fragile to handle anything but baby steps, and that means that he needs to focus on himself. He just made a big life choice he is not going to be making any more anytime soon.

Now, I think that if they did get engaged.. which agian I do not see GD ever doing that, at least for this season it is not right for Jim or Pam. if they do get engaged we will not see the proposal, nor will we see the wedding that is way to sitcom and The Office does not do that.

Also I do not know if Jim and Pam will actually be together next season it is just one date.. only one date.

Now all that said.. what I think will happen in the office and what happens in my mind are two different things.

but all I know is that I would like Jim and Pam to date, but right now neither Jim, Pam, nor the office is ready for an engagement anytime soon.. if there is one then I have to say that they will have jumped the shark.

You could tell her that she deserves it and tell her that even though she is there for a short time, that the impact she is leaving is one that will stay with your family forever.

I think too often people just don't tell eachother that they appreciate the impact they have in their lives. I walk my daughter to school every day and there were these two brothers who would pass by on their bikes and they always said excuse me and they always watched out for eachother and were always very polite. At an end of the year school function I saw them with their parents and I told the parents (in front of the boys) that I see their boys every day and they should be proud because they are very good, kind and polite boys. They were so shocked, but you could just tell they were also so pleased to hear that. I just thought it would be nice for them to hear how their boys behave when they're not around...and the boys, I am sure, got a pat on the back for a stranger complimenting them!!

*sigh* This is JAM Therapy, so I'm going to share my fears. Part of me thinks we may never see a JAM wedding sad01.gif .

I think I just need to see them together in the first ep of S4, and then I will feel alright.

Forgive me for being debby downer, but I think we'll miss out on most major JAM romantic events. This is The Office after all. I would be totally grossed out if I ran into my co-workers kissing in the copy room for instance. I think we'll get lots of looks & closeness, not a lot of kisses, touching, jumping each other's bones. But, I don't know, we did see Phyllis & Bob's wedding & Pam & Jim's would be a WHOLE lot more romantic!!! Never fear, Beeswax, their 3-week anniversary is tomorrow & Jim has something special planned!!! wub.gif

I agree with the heartfelt note. I LOVE getting notes like that. Last year one of my students' parents wrote a poem with her daughter for me. It made my cry and I have it hanging on the wall of my classroom.

A meaningful picture book inscribed with a note is also really nice. I can never have enough picture books and I always think of that child every time I read it.
