I had actually been avoiding fanfic for a while, but today I got back into it, and printed off the first 5 chapters of Distance Learning, so good, and I'll be reading some more after hubby goes to bed. (He just doesn't understand) The month is flying by and another thing I noticed today is that rewatching S3 is not nearly as painful now that we know about the ending! biggrin.gif

Oh, you will love Distance Learning. It is amazing.

I am also really enjoying watching S3 again.

There is also so much John and Steve right now, it's all guud.

It's so funny, I say "it's all guud" all the time now, and I saw an interview with Steve where he says how lame it is to say that. I can't remember which one for sure, I have been watching so many lately, I think it was Leno.
Pam_Halpert_1
I just read two fanfics and loved them!! I think it was the one about Pam and the rape. and then the other .. was Oh yeah charcoal and water colors..

I am going to read DL now!! YAY! I am back and in action!! smile.gif see I told you I could not be gone for long!!

Ya, I think it was on Leno. I'm totally self conscious about saying it now but it's the first thing that springs to mind with all the John and Steve face time we're getting.

Apparantly the HBO LtW special tonight was very John-centric. If you don't find any links to it before then, the person who hosts the GMMR Offoce site will be posting a link tomorrow. I was able to watch the Evan Almighty HBO special that way so I don't think it will be blocked to Canadian IP addresses.

P.S. Steve's on Conan tonight

Ok, I figured I'd put this out there first in this thread before the Celebrity Crush thread. I have been watching a lot of clips and interviews with Steve Carell, mostly to hear any tidbit on JAM, and I am actually looking forward to Evan Almighty, but I think I am starting to develop a crush on Steve. Now I know this is the JAM thread, but I also know you are the most supportive of all the threads here. Is anyone else getting this vibe that Steve Carell, in spite of being Michael is a sweet and ridiculously funny guy? Also, he's always looking sharp dressed! Maybe I am just showing my age, but I think I may look for a pic to post on the crush thread. blush.gif He's moving up my list!

You know it's funny - as I've been watching the interviews I find myself thinking to myself - he is Really good looking - I've never noticed that before - never really looked twice at him. Maybe because he is such a jerk as michael.

I also have a little thing for Steve. For me it started in 40 year old. He was so funny, yet vulnerable in that movie. Steve also seems so down to earth and enjoying his time in the spotlight. Here's a pic that I like:

I also like Rainn. He is so quirky and funny and I love the glasses.

Now, back to John for a minute. Here's a great quote from Ken Kwapis about John:

I will say from the get go – I know mentioned this in the production notes – from the moment I did John’s audition for The Office, I knew that he was a very rare specimen – someone who was incredibly attractive, very much a potential leading man, and also someone who was funny. And also, I will answer that question about the secondary characters, but I was just thinking about it the other day that John – I also remember when I met John, his stature, his look, the way he carries himself, he really does remind me of much more of a kind of an actor from a different era. I really do think about the Gary Coopers and the James Stewarts of the world when I’m hanging out with John. He’s seems to partake in that kind of classic value.

Doesn't that just describe him to a t?

I think they are all fabulous as well. Like you said, there was something endearing about Steve in 40 year old he just made the character lovable and I was one at first that was very hesitant about seeing that movie at all. I remember on one or more of the commentaries on S2 I think it was GD that was saying there was no job too small for Steve like when he has to just hang out in the background in a shot & such. I just thought that was great to hear.
He was wonderful last night on the Daily Show and brought it all back to Jim & Pam when Jon asked about TO!!!!!!!- I Loved it.
Have enjoyed Rainn since his time on 6 Feet Under (my favorite all time show). And some of my favorite tv lines ever are from Dwight.
And of course, I could go on & on about John, but the Jimmy Stewart comparison? OH.....that does me in. I love his movies, and I made my husband go to the small museum dedicated to him near Pittsburgh as part of our honeymoon. They are both very distinguished IMO

I thought it was so funny how he came out with his butler (or who-ever it was supposed to be). I never watched the Daily show when he was in it - but wish I could see some of the episodes he was in.

Oh - and can someone explain to me the reference I read about a wig that John was wearing at some point? When was he wearing a wig - and why?

Oooo! Another Six Feet Under fan. That was the last show I was ga-ga over. LOVED every single ep. That is also where I first saw Rainn as Arthur. Brilliant.

Oh, and did that not have THE best series finale of all time. Man, I bawled.

Yes!!!!! 6 Feet Under was great because it was just so honest & human. I cried & Cried the last few minutes when Claire is driving away, that finale can't be topped. And Arthur almost makes Dwight look normal. Yikes

...continuing the digression...just for a little while

Bees and imthaqueen, SFU is my all time favourite show too. There's been some discussion about it on the 'Favourite TV show' thread on the these boards.

mixedberries also posted a link to the SFU series finale on that thread last week post the Sopranos series finale. We both agreed SFU was the best. I cried like a baby too.

I found the US Office pilot a little disappointing because it was almost like a re-hash of the UK Office but I kept watching because of Rainn. Arthur Martin was one of the weirdest, complex characters I had ever seen on TV (well, HBO).

It's not surprising that a lot of us have similar tastes in tv shows.

Well, I guess we should get back to JAM. Here we go. I'm going to bring back an old fave:

Beeswax!! I am so addicted to that video!! It's so funny, my 3 year old is soo into Veggie Tales right now, and my older two love that song so we sing it all the time, and I just picture Jim & Pam the whole time!! (Okay, I picture JK blush.gif ) And my 3 year old says "Jim" all day long, it's soo funny!! What's worse though, is that it is actually his daddy's name, but I just picture Jim every time he says it!!
Okay, now that I have admitted that out loud, I think I made need some JAM detox again. ohmy.gif
Oh and I also think we need a JK therapy thread. The regular JK thread is too dormant, and this one seems to really get going about him, especially late at night! wink.gif

What does it for me with Steve Carell is he is so unassuming. And his humor is very quietly sarcastic. He is not over the top trying to be funny...he just seems geniuinely funny, in a sarcastic way. And he seems very gracious! No ego there, I'm pretty sure. That's what I love about all The Office guys...there's no one trying to be the top dog...they are all happy to bask in eachother's spot light!

^^^Steve Carell is so talented and he seems like such a nice guy. Great husband and father too which are exceptionally sexy traits! So I can see why you'd be developing a celeb crush on him! I thought he was brilliant in Little Miss Sunshine and when Jay Leno interviewed him a week or so ago, he seemed so down to earth. He also looked very good all dressed up and polished! So gush away here. We are an equal opportunity thread here. All are welcome!

This thread makes gushing so much fun!!! Gush away, gush away, gush away all!

My husband actually thinks JK is Clint Eastwood like...can portray so much with just his expressions. I know Clint Eastwood has done some cheesy movies, but he is incredibly sexy in a very normal kind of way. Yes, JK seems like an old soul...and like the movie actors of olden days!

If memory serves, this picture of John is cropped from a group photo of the cast of a play he was in a few years ago (pre-office). One of the other people in the group shot is Shannon Doherty (yikes!!!)

The fanvid I saw this picture in is called JBK (John Burke Krasinski) and it's by sorano916. Check it out on You Tube, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Again I laught when I open this thread I now expect to see JK all over the place.

I'm bringing it back to the front for you rabidfro...just so you can laugh when you open this back up...

(OK, that's not really the reason, but can I admit it's just because I think that picture is so dang awesome?)

Nice Avatar!! I apologize if you have had it a while, I just noticed it, I have a tendency to miss things even if I am looking at them. I love Jim and Pam taking a snooze together!! So cute!

Thank you! I love it too. The talented Ms. loveanyway created it.

The regular JK thread is too dormant, and this one seems to really get going about him, especially late at night! wink.gif

It's an oldie but a goodie.

We can definitely have some JK therapy here. Although, I don't want to be cured!

Well said, sed!

John has such a charisma about him. I really hope he has a long and varied career.

Awww, our 2 favourite dorky smartthrobs.

Oh, and by the way, sorry it took me so long to get over to this sweet thread tonight. I was waylayed by all of those JK pics in the JK thread.

I'd just like to post this again.

OK, so here I am all by myself...it's kind of lonely here tonight!!

So, I just got through watching Drug Testing...love the Jinx...the hey, hi...how much time do you have left on your break? But I think the thing I find so incredibly sexy is the way Jim pulls his dollar out of his wallet. I just don't know what it is, but I swoon!! Anybody else??

I bet when JK pulled $1,000 out of his wallet for his bet to George Clooney he didn't enjoy it as much!! (Can you imagine a thousand dollar bet?) Man, I just bought my girls new swim suits and it's mac and cheese till payday! Not, quite, but I am in a bit of a different financial league! Oh to be able to bet $1,000 on a pickup game!

I'm here, sed!

I just ran downstairs to put on another load of laundry.

Maybe I wouldn't mind doing laundry if it was John's laundry. I'd do his laundry any time and put it on hangers for him.

Oh yah, a $1000 bet. He must be making some sweet money. Good for him. I just hope he doesn't start betting David Beckham that he can beat him in soccer. Then I will worry.
