I was just think about how I always get chills (the good kind of chills, maybe even goosebumps ) whenever I watch that scene. If I may quote Princess Bride is was so "passionate and pure." I always have this small hope that if I watch it again maybe the results will change.

It's fate! You, Beeswax and I all have Bens! There must be some bizarro connection to people who are obsessed with The Office and name their kids Ben. My "Ben" is also Benjamin. When he got to Kindergarten and had to start writing his name all the time, he shortened it to just Ben. Now, I hardly ever call him Benjamin.

What does everyone think about the 4, 7 and 11 references in the episode...even Creed referenced the 11th when he was asking what day Debbie Brown wasn't there. Could it be 11/4/07 when JAM happens?? No...that's actually a Sunday.

Wait WHAT? Where are these references coming from? I totally didn't notice, please explain it to me, or let me know what thread they are discussing this on. I was reading the JP thread, didn't really notice anything except people saying things and then apologizing....dunno what that is about. hmmmm, number symbolism, seems very 'Lost' if you ask me. 11/4/07 is already past, maybe 4/11/07..I guess that would mean JAM doesn't happen until the next season.

I bet there's no significance to the numbers, other than those crafty writers wanting to see how much we pay attention, or how much we would over-analyze things. I'm telling you, they like to mess with us!

When Jim gives the total of his outfit...the glasses were $4 and the rest of the ensemble was $7...then he did the calculator watch...grand total $11. Then when Angela asked Kevin how much 4 + 7 was and he said 11...and she said you didn't know that when you were filling out the report. Then when Creed asked who was missing on the 11th...(that one I have to go back and review).

actually i have two names ahead of it, but they are really bizarre, and i doubt that the future father of my children would agree to them, because most people who hear them think i am insane. Well... Benjamin, of course! It is way too funny. I like the name Ben because it's familiar but not overused, and yet here are all of us, obsessed Office fans, with our little Bens. Definitely a sign of SOMETHING! I agree with not sharing names too much. i always said I liked Andrew. Now my mom & my sister in law are bugging me about how they like Andrew the best & that's what we should name the new baby. So that makes me not want to name him Andrew! I'm a brat.

Has a week ever seemed so long? I haven't gone this crazy waiting for the next episode of a show since I used to count the hours for X Files to come on. The fan vids are all that get me through. Tomorrow I'm going to break out the Season 2 DVDS. How will we survive the summer?

I agree. We named our Benjamin after my husband's grandfather and I thought it was such a great name. Very solid and not overused, but then over the course of his 10 years have found out there are two other Benjamins in our community with the same last name!! In fact, one of them is on my son's baseball team and one goes to his school in the grade below him! So funny.

Anyway, these last three weeks are going to drive me insane. I am having JAM dreams while I'm awake. Lord beer me the strength.....

Oh god so exciting - so I'm watching the whole series with my friend, and she's like I want to watch the new episode on thursday, and I'm like NOOOOO you can't there's soo much JAM you will have missed. NO! (even though I don't think she really understands the importance of JAM yet) So we were thinking of spending the rest of the week just watching the whole series until we get caught up!!! Ahh so exciting!

Oh to go back through and see it all again for the first time around...how cool!! I'm on like my hundreth time to watch Season 1 and 2...and it's awesome because it never gets old! There's always somethng new I catch or something I loved (usually a Jim face or JAM moment) that just makes me happy! I love this show!

I wish they would get season 3 out on DVD at the beginning of summer so we can re-watch these episodes, deleted scenes, commentaries BEFORE season 4 starts. Anyone know TPTB?? Tell them we want season 3 DVD's in June!!! If not, god, beer us strength!

Jim just strikes me as the kind of guy (like my husband) who would just be an awesome Dad to a little girl! (We have 3...none of them named Ben ). So I hope they have a little girl and name her Fancy Little Halpert. Although now that I say it, that sounds kind of whorish!

^ sedimentary, they released the season 2 DVD before the start of season 3, so I'm sure TPTB will do the same this time around. It may not be as early as June, but we should get it before season 4 starts.

Though season 3 has been so tense...but if they give us something good in these last three episodes that we can use to get through these dark times we saw in season 3, then it would not be quite as depressing as it has been this year!! I don't know if I would want to watch season 3 all over again if there wasn't some sort of movement in a positive direction before the end of the season. You all feel that way too?

I've felt that way too, at times. Yes, a lot of season 3 has been painful, but it's also given us so much great stuff! Here's why (to me at least) the lack of Jam has been tolerable:

My guess with the number 11 is just that it is the writer's fave number.

I know Chris Carter, creater of X-Files often fit his birthday into episodes (11/13). It would be the time or a number involved in a case.

Although, I wouldn't be opposed to a major romantic JAM development happening on November 4th!

You know, I was in a JAM tunnel there and forgot all the fun stuff that happened in Season 3 throughout the office. You all are right and thanks so much for putting that into perspective for me. I guess I am just feeling anxious to see what happens and just want to see the old fun loving Jim and Pam back. If we get a glimpse of that back by the end of Season 3, then I will be happy. They don't have to necessarily be together together...although that would be awesome...but, I realize, not realistic. Pam should just say what she needs to say and I think the rest of it will fall into place some time in season 4. That is all right by me!

I think that there have been definite glimmers of hope and positive energy (excuse the hippie talk) this season. Perhaps the down times just made it harder. But I'm trying to focus on the sweet Jim and Pam (and other) things: Jim's dorky dancing comments at PW, unity over Michael's potential SPLAT in Safety Training, Dwight and Angela dancing at PW, whenever Jan kisses Michael he seems to turn into a 6 year-old - I don't know why, but that kills me when he shows such vulnerability, but most of all Pam racing to hug Jim in The Return.

Poor Jim...even his face when he hears Karen's name (like when Andy brought her up in the car) just looks resigned. I can't wait for Pam to breathe some life back into him...IT IS MORE THAN A CRUSH!!! I think Karen might be able to talk him out of a crush, but not TRUE LOVE!!!

Yes, there is certainly no spark between Karen and Jim. On paper, they seem like they would be great together, but they just don't jive. Jim has shown more emotion and connection in one look to Pam than he has ever shown to Karen, and (cover your ears here Jammers), Karen and Jim have most likely had "relations"!

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Jim and Pam are soulmates. They formed a connection the day that they met and, as difficult as things have been lately, that connection still exists. Jim and Pam are an example of love at first sight. Some people don't believe in love at first sight, but I do. I think it is rare, but possible. In my opinion, true love at first sight is two souls destined to be together. Obstacles may be put in the path of true love, but they will be overcome. Remember, love is like oxygen, love is a many splendored thing, all we need is love.

Jim and Pam have a love that they cannot control and sooner or later, their love will transcend all of the boundries and issues that have plagued them. Our love birds will be together, it's just a question of when.

Ok, I'll step off my romantic soapbox and step back down on to the reality of the ground. Oh, wait, I have one foot hanging off the soapbox, so I will give one more quote:

Okay, so I must admit I caught myself being negative today. I think it's b/c there was zero JAM interaction in Product Recall compared to some good interaction in Safety Training. I've been saying that it will all be okay b/c Pam is going to tell Jim before S3 ends; he will realize that he still loves her & wants to try. So I decided to watch the last 4 episodes of S2 (like someone suggested somewhere). This really made me realize how far we went in those last few eps!

Friendly/flirty but a touch of sadness by Jim
Definitely had a little bit of filler feel

Drug Testing (Women's Appreciation)
Friendly/flirty, very sad, esp. break room scene – "Jim, you can tell me anything" (yeah, except the most important thing) – Pam knew something was up

Conflict Resolution (Beach Games)
Not much interaction
Jim was exasperated ("What does Roy think?" "I try not to bother him w/ this stuff" "Like your thoughts & feelings?").
Pam was hurt b/c Jim told on her.
Jim starts feeling like everything in his life sucks (Dwight pranks, Pam's wedding is quickly coming up) so he applies for transfer as way out.

Casino Night (The Job)
They are friendly again but in a more guarded way.
Pam's trying not to upset him by doing wedding stuff. He figures his time there is short so why not be friendly.
Opposite feelings – Pam: "I'm pretty happy these days. I'm getting along w/ everyone at work." Jim: "I have no future here."
Pam: "Jim is great. Being w/ him takes all of the stress out of planning my wedding."
*All of the above leads to his finally laying all of his cards on the table (going "all in"), telling her he is in love w/ her & then kissing her.

So I guess I'm back in the hopeful camp. TPTB proved last year they can cover miles of ground in a very short time period. Pam WILL tell Jim before S3 ends, and even if he somehow turns her down, I think we'll at least have the HOPE that they will be together before S3 ends. I just don't see them totally recreating CN. Finger crossed!! Sending lots of positive JAM vibes!!!

*EDIT: I had another thought after reading Beewax's post. There has been some discussion about how good relationships don't require tons of work - if you're meant to be together, it just works out. (That doesn't include the day-to-day trivial challenges of living together & such.) Although Pam & Jim have had a tough road so far, I think once they are together as a couple, they will be in sync & their relationship will flow. (Does that make sense? I don't want people thinking just b/c things have been rough for JAM that they don't belong together b/c that's just not true!)

^^^ I am watching the final four too. One thing that popped out at me, in Conflict Resolution. When Pam thinks Angela was the one to complain about her planning her wedding on company time, Pam talks about how she knows something big about Angela (Dwangela) but has never told anyone. I think this will loom large in the final 3 eps with Jim knowing but keeping it secret as well.
