I'm a little surprised that The Coup was selected. I think my favorites this year were Business School anid Gay Witch Hunt

I still think that The Coup secured Rainn Wilson's nomination at the Emmy's in 2007. If not, I'll lock my SELF in the Conference Room. wink.gif

Well, I guess not yet - I know these are only preliminary nominations from the show - I just couldn't help myself. I'm going to go join mixedberries at that table over there... wink.gif

OfficeTally has the updated list of nominations, and the only change made was Jenna Fischer being nominated for 'The Job' instead of 'Grief Counseling'.

In my opinion, that just increases her chances of winning. She should be the favorite, I'd think.

I was surprised by the episode chosen for John Krasinski, however. 'Business School' wasn't even one of his top five best episodes of the season. I'd definitely put 'the Job' way ahead of that. Really, he had more opportunities to shine last season but I guess if they think the vampire shtick is his best shot, I trust them.

It seems like John doesn't stand a chance against Rainn this year, though. Dwight in 'The Coup' was much better, in my humble opinion

I would have like to see John nominated for "Traveling Salesmen". Rainn was also very good in that. But Jenna really deserves at the very least a nomination this year, (I thought last year too, but she just gets better. . . .).

I can't really think of many supporting women that could get the best of Jenna.

Jim was better in 'Travelling Salesman'. I think he showed more range in 'Benihana Christmas' or 'The Return', personally. But if it's strictly based on comedy, I guess it's all subjective.

Yeah, those two were very good as well. I was thinking of TS because it was drop-dead funny, and there was that angsty Jim/Karen drama toward the end. It's just so hard to pick only one!

That was a good one too. I liked the speech about rebound girls in Benihana Christmas, but I guess that doesn't really showcase his comedy skillz.

The Return was good for the return to Jim really pranking someone, and working together with Pam. It was nice to see, but I guess Traveling Salesman had better talking heads of him, and a good range of humor.

These are submissions, not nominations. The shows first "submit" episodes to the Emmy's for consideration to be nominated for an Emmy.

We got that. I think the nominations are announced sometime in July, then the Emmy's are in Sept.? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

*edit* Here we go:

I hope Jenna wins!!!

I just kept seeing "nominations" in the posts and didn't want anyone to think they were official - yet! But I have my fingers crossed...
