Hi again,
Some of you read my post yesterday about my conversation with the Media Studies professors at my college (see the coffeerooms message board). I talked to them again today to get their opinions on the probablity of saving our show. Here is what we came up with (many of which have already been mentioned).

1. Write to the advertising executives explaining the reasons for the NBC boycott, and point out the loss of viewership and it's effects on their advertising. Make CJ the headliner, but also mention the unusual amount of hostility towards NBC that is being generated by other shows' fans. I will make a list tonight during the show of the advertisers, and I think I read somewhere on here that someone had a program we could get the addresses of off.

2. Continue to write to NBC. Write calm letters and angry letters, just hammer them with paper. Talk about the boycott, our appeals to other networks & advertisers, etc. Point out the NBC boards, CNN blog, TV guide blogs, and USA today message boards, etc. Mention the lack of any positivity/enthusiasm for their new line up.

3. Email, call, and write letters to ABC, CBS, A&E, Bravo, and TNT. According to the market analysis I did today, TNT is the best option. They do original programming, have the funds to continue the show, and it fits in well with their motto ("we know drama") and the genre they present. TNT averages between 3.5-5 million viewers for their primetime shows. Point out that with promotion, CJ could draw at least 6 million on it's worst day, considering it drew 5.3 on it's lowpoint this year (while against American Idol and with zero promotion) Also mention the loyalty of the fanbase and direct them to the NBC boards, CNN blog, TV guide blogs,USA today message boards, etc, to emphasize that the public really does want this show to continue.

The people I talked to did say that to make this work, ALOT of people would need to send letters, emails, etc EVERYDAY, and to not let up. If this is going to work, it needs to be organized and followed through with. I also think it would be a good idea to keep giving the new shows forum on NBC ****. These kind of protests only work if they can be kept up for a couple of weeks.

I am going to post this on the coffeerooms board as well, and put a note on the facebook pages. What does everyone think?

we need a list of advertisers to start contacting! I'm sending out my letters (hard copy) to NBC tomorrow and I've emailed other networks about picking up the show.

I am rewatching the show (taped it) right now and writing down all the advertisers. Will have the list up within 20 minutes. In the meantime, post the title of this thread on everyother thread to draw attention to it and get people over here!

Ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh, ugh. I am not watching this episode again until we have secured another season.Well, here's the list of all the advertisers during CJ. There are quite a few of them-but the same letter should do for all the execs. Now we need the contact info! There is someone on the other board who is getting this for us, but here's the list in the meantime. I haven't ever actually campaigned for a show like this before, but this one is sooo not over. I think the fact that there are over 200 on this board right now prove that.

Though email is quicker, I really think that snail mail would have the biggest effect. Of course, doing both would really, REALLY leave an impression.

is there a facebook group? i'm just wondering because people pick up on facebook groups easier than they do on message boards sometimes. its better to get it out everywhere as fast as possible.
