Small "spoiler" from the new TV Guide:

ER has staged some memorable exits over the years. Romano and the helicopter....but nothing compares to what's about to happen to one County General doctor in the May 17 season finale.

Well if it is true that Goran/Kovac or Linda/Sam might be leaving the show I don't think that the ER producers would want another main character to be leaving as well.

But still I'm keeping my fingers crossed that its not Shane until we see the episode!!

Couldn't the spoiler be about Goran and not Shane since he is supposedly going to leave at the end of this season?

but i thought i heard he was going to come back next season for a few episodes to rap up his storyline... but i could be wrong ...

Yes, however, Goran is no longer returning chances are as a regular, but that could have always changed and just not gotten around. Plus, I have heard speculation of Sam leaving the show. Shane as well. So it doesn't necesarily have to be Shane.

I think they are talking about Shane. Why else would they reference Romano and the helicopter? This is so sad. I guess Shane is leaving after all. This sucks!!!!

Okay, well its a bad word so I can't post it here. lol. But what are the first three letters of Assume? Then you get what I am saying. You can't assume anything as a guaruntee until it is particularly and specifically notified.

Oh, now I am worried >.< Because of the way tv guide worded it. "What's about to happen to one County General Doctor", as if it's hinting someone is going to be killed off?! Although I haven't read that anywhere online. All I have heard is that Luka is resigning at the end of the season. Maybe that is what tv guide meant and they're trying to be dramatic? But why on earth would they word it like that? How can they compare Romano being killed by a helicopter landing on him to Luka simply resigning? Oh dear =/

Hey you never know. It might be Crenshaw, he is a pain in the u know what and so was romano. When he died no one seemed to care. So it might not be one of our beloved docs. I think if memory serves me right. Corday left at the same time the helicopter fell on romano, and she was the only one that everyone actually cared that left. So crenshaw is noexistant anyways.

Also I Think the producers and writers know that this Ray, Neela thing is very important to the show and the viewers. Maybe we should all get together and send emails, and letters to the producers of ER.
Luka and Abby were the only two romances that meant anything. And Neela and Gates as publized at it may be they are not a couple that have a lot of spark. She seems so depressed around him. And his character is so dum. I think they might make Ray's character a little more interesting the rest of this season and the next. Now if Kovac leaves it only leaves Ray to step up as the next strong ER Doc. They already have Pratt and Morris. Ray has gone from Doc Roc, Dispo Doc to a good responsible caring doctor, who is serious about his job and his position. Even in one episode morris told him he would be a very good attending one day.
I think they are up for attending positions next season.

I agree with Neela Rasgotra why would TV guide reference a helicopter landing on Romano to just Luka resigning.

I know I'm trying to have hope and believe that it might not be Ray but everything points in his direction

You have to realize, you read most likely just spoilers for Shane's character. The sources also mention something potentially bad for Luka.

Sorry, guys, but everything points to Ray. Though I don't think it'll be the last we see of him. They've left the door open to bring him back sometime next season. (Right around sweeps, I suspect.)

But if Shane dont back, I dont see Why I'll to see ER next season!
Shane is the reason for me to see ER.

Romano, he was killed from a hellicopter crash. That is just horrible! Like that is just, sort of cruel. I find that horrible writing for the TV guide.

Romano had a dramatic exit. Something tells me Luka's exit won't be so dramatic if he's supposed to be back for 6 episodes next season. If you've read spoilers, then you know what happens to Ray. It's not that big a jump. But like I said, they've left the door open for a return, which will be contingent on how the pilot does, I guess. It is still possible that he will be back next season as a guest star, if nothing else. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

I do not want to wait for the next season. I despaired all season 13 to see Ray, that almost did not appear. They had hidden him, had always wasted him. And now will be to ask for too much to the fans, to wait that he comes back or not. This is a true torture and a lack of respect for the Ray/Shane fans!

does not admire that Shane has looked other things to make. I do not blame him. I blame yes the NBC and the producers of ER for almost always having played and hidden Ray.

Yes Ash, however, that isn't guarunteed. It could have changed. There was no official confirmation that Goran was actually going to stick around next season for a few episodes. However, if there was a spoiler or some speculation about that, it may have already changed. Do you realize we are talking 6 episodes ahead right now? Nothing is for sure a/t/m.

o my!!! this is sooo sad! its making me depressed... it seems like everything is going down hill since i heard those spoilers! they cant lose shane! the show is nothing if both shane and goran leave!

Everyone please, let us not panic here. In terms of the TV Guide prognostacation, it doesn't worry me one bit. I think they are just taking a cue from the latest spoilers and simply assuming that it is an exit arc for Ray. As dreadful and sad as the season finale is it is left too wide open to be your typical exit arc. The spoilers still imply that there is a chance and future for NeeRay. Don't get me wrong, I hate how they are going to execute this. I think that there are different ways that you can pull this off just as effectively. But nonetheless, exit arcs are usually more definitive. Dr. Greene died, Malucci was fired, Peter Benton resigned and transferred to another hospital, evil Romano died, Doug moved to Seatle, Carol moved with him shortly after, Lucy died, Corday went back to England, Chen went back to China, Dr. Weaver took another job as a news reporter, Gallant died, and Carter moved to Africa to be a missionary. Are you guys seeing a trend here? ER's exit arcs usually consist of either people moving away permanantly or dying. None of that has been hinted about Ray in the season finale.

(Removed specific spoiler...JD/ER Forum Moderator) That said, he's not being killed off, so the door is still open for a return, which I suspect we will see during one of the sweeps periods. Probably February, or May, which wouldgo right on through to the series finale, in which they could wrap everything up on the Roomie front. There are still plenty of possibilities and there is still opportunity to bring him back. You don't wanna watch next season? Fine. Keep an eye on the spoilers and see when/if he's mentioned and tune in for those episodes. Either way, there will still be fanfic to read.

Your right nothing in the spoilers hint that he'll be killed off but still I don't have much hope that he'll be staying on as a regular cast member, the best we'll probably get from Shane now is a recurring role on the show which still sucks anyways...but I guess thats better than nothing...

Ok, heres my opinion: It wouldnt make much sense for Goran to leave just suddenely. grrr ...im having a brain block at the moment. Whats the gay doctors name that just left a little while ago?? Anyhow, she put her but on the line so he could be where he is now. No way they could let him sink the ship already....could they?

I stoped to see ER at season 8...after DR. Green die...I was back to see because of Shane at season 11...

Both Luka and Abby are leaving this season...maybe they are talking about Abby, or maybe even both of them? One could only hope. But I do, unforunately, think it's going to be Ray. Or maybe Neela? If someone else she loves dies...who knows what she might do.

Why are they letting so many of their important players go? Ugh.

I am sorry but IF Abby leaves with Luka I AM GONE, no more ER. Luka & Abby are the only reason that I still watch ER, sorry Neela fans, but they are the only interesting couple/characters left. ER would survive if Ray was killed off or left but I DONT THINK ER will be any good if Luka & Abby leave.

Maura is still contracted through next season, and Goran has said he will be doing a limited number of episodes next season (4-6 is the number being discussed), his arc will have him going to Croatia to see to his ailing father. Likely too, allowing Goran in reallife, time to spend with his new baby boy.

I sure hope you are right and I'm trying to stay positive. They definitly have chemistry. I certainly didn't like the exchange between Neela and Gates tonight. Her being upset that he['s not more upset. Seems she's forgotten Ray in this exchange.

Then in the previews, it shows Gates going after Neela like she is in trouble and Ray very beat up. He tells her that he trusted her and fought for her. I don't quite get the trusted her part...like that is what put him here. Maybe he is only talking about his heart. I'm glad to see that they have Ray speak his mind and not just brush her off. They can get past it if he tells her what he feels. Notice she leans in for a kiss. He doesn't look too pleased though.

Certainly trying to keep a positive attitude. You can never tell from previews regarding the order of the next show. Gates goes after Neela. I also looked closely and it looked like Neela was in a wheelchair in the E.R. Wonder if she is hurt will Ray come to her side? Hopefully she sticks in there and proves to him what she feels. Pray she knows herself finally!!! Anyone else getting tired of her taking so long to tell him or recognize her feelings.

Is this the last ever season??

As is stands right now, next season (14) will be the last for ER.

Unless, they extend the contract for the show.

Hopefully its Ray, his character isn't very rounded on the show. He's more or less now background filler to Luka/Abby, Neela/whatever John Stamos' character, and the others. I'd love to see John Stamos' character gone, but for some reason TPTB like him. Maybe they see the viewers have a love to hate relationship to him, but his act is starting to play out like his character on that one sitcom with the Olson twins on it.

Hi, all. I'm trying to stay positive/hopeful for Thursday too. Gosh, it just has to work out for Ray/Neela. My hope, one of them, is that Neela is going to tell him she'll visit him right after she gets things squared away with the hospital, and he probably will doubt her, but she'll promise him and seal it with a kiss . Then, she goes to the rally because she just like, needed to: for the patient, for herself (for Michael) and she's determined to see Ray after it all. Only, tragedy strikes and she's unable to reach him. Hopefully her friends (I'm looking at you Pratt!) will get the message to Ray, so he knows that she would be there, if she could. He just has to know. How heartbreaking if he thinks she broke things off w/ her absence. No!

As for Neela in the wheelchair, I wrote this in the Roomies discussion, but I will post here too if it's OK. I think, well er, hope again... that Neela passes out or something after she finds out about Ray. Maybe Morris tells her? And she passes out and they help wheel her to wherever so she can recover. Once she does, she goes to find Ray. I LOVE how the preview shows their first sight of one another. Ray's look. Gosh. But I just love how they see each other from afar and it's like, "you're here", without the words.

I'm (still) hoping. Thursday is nearly here. Go Ray/Neela!

Wow, that is so wierd, funny. I thought/imagined the exact same thing. I figured TPTB would have to throw in another obstacle and what better way than to have Neela make another promise to come visit and then get hurt and not show up. I, also, was thinking of Pratt stepping in to right the supposed wrong!!! He's shown to be Ray's confidant and friend. Hopefully he will step up. Then, Ray will show up to visit Neela and who will be at her side but Gates. Please, I can handle the rest but not that again!!!

I am new here this is actually my first post. I truly love the whole Neela/Ray storyline and have always pulled for them to be together. Thursday is going to be hard to take if he leaves and especially if he leaves on a bad note with her. They both need to tell each other how they feel since her plan to meet him for breakfast got interupted by the whole truck thing.

I just read somewhere that the final montage of the show will feature Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah. It's a really powerful song so it should give us some insight into how the show will end. If your curious I found a stream for everyone to listen to it:

When I enter in ER NBC site I see a banner promote Season Finale...and the pictures in that are Abby, Luka and...Gates!
I hate the way NBC promote Stamos it's horrible. It's like Stamos is a GOD!
