This was posted on the Coffeerooms Crossing Jordan chat board. I'm glad to see that the President of CBS Entertainment acknowledged the disappointed fans and it's wonderful to read of their hope to provide resolution. I wish NBC would take the time to address their disappointed fans.

I'm going to send a copy of this to the NBC executives when I get home from my business travel. If they're reading their mail, perhaps they'll see the lesson in all this.

"To the fans of Jericho:

We have read your emails over the past few days and have been touched by the depth and passion with which you have expressed your disappointment. Please know that canceling a television series is a very difficult decision. Hundreds of people at the Network, the production company and the incredibly-talented creative team worked very hard to build and serve the community for this show -- both on-air and online. It is a show we loved too.

Thank you for supporting Jericho with such passion. We truly appreciate the commitment you made to the series and we are humbled by your disappointment. In the coming weeks, we hope to develop a way to provide closure to the compelling drama that was the Jericho story.

Sincerely, Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment"

That is awesome for them! Man, I wish CJ had been a CBS show. Maybe we would have been treated better as well. NBC needs to see this and learn something from it. They could have done things so much better for us fans, treated us with so much more respect and maybe they would have had some life long loyal fans to their network. The way they did things though, they alienated so many of us.

Oh, ITA Kate. I love CBS.

Wow! The CBS president did that? That's really a model of customer-focused behavior. They acknowledged their fans' disappointment and they're working to give them resolution. That's how fans (the network's customers) deserve to be treated! After all, the networks only are what they are (or aren't what they aren't!) because of their fans.

You know, while there are 8 to 10 million disappointed fans of Jericho, many who were previously up in arms will likely apprecate CBS's efforts to repair the relationship with those fans. They probably served their network well in doing that and will likely retain some of the fans they might have lost!

That is great customer sevice. A lot of their fans will probably stay with the network.

I know it would make a big difference with me if the NBC people were as considerate.

Wow. That was really nice of the CBS exec to not only acknowledge their customers, but also pledge to do right by them. That sounds kind of what what NBC did with "Third Watch" when it went off the air -- they wrapped up story lines and didn't leave anything hanging. Sure would be nice if NBC would do the same for Crossing Jordan...or at least acknowledge our loyalty, or sometime.

I like what the CBS exec did for "Jericho." It's an example NBC might try in the future when canceling the next good show. One can hope anyway.

Yeah. For me too.

Wow, why couldn't we have that?
They knew the producers had created a cliff-hanger ending. Would it have killed them to produce one more show? Now the set is destroyed and it would cost a lot more money to try and put it back together again for another epoisode or two. Was that the CBS president? Why don't we get stuff like that? Do they not have time for us or something? And why didn't we ever get to talk to the cast? I' on the ER website a lot, and there have been live blogs and Q and A's and behind the scenes footage with pretty much every cast member!

Me too. It irks me to no end that they are just ignoring us-good for the CBS execs!

i wish crossing jordan had been a cbs show, too. at least when cbs is going to end one of their shows, they tell the fans more than a couple days in advance. i know i heard a couple ads for the series finale. this makes me like cbs even more.

I think the Jericho fans got what they wanted because of the way they are going about their campaign. They got organized, set down hard "rules of engagement" and actually choose something that had a direct link to the show to send to the networks. That is why the execs sat up and listened.

NBC you guys could take a clue from then. Thats one way to keep fans around or at least make them feel like they count for something.

The fans of Jericho have gotten CBS to renew their cancelled show for the fall season. We need to do something for CJ. They apparently sent nuts to the CBS network letters, e-mails, and started a ban CBS campaign. I've not watched NBC since they cancelled Crossing Jordan. I miss watching the Today show, Ellen, Law&Order SVC, etc. Does anyone know if such a campaign is in the works for CJ? This is the only quality show they had left on prime time and I should have been prepared that they would cancel it.

Yeah why can't we have someone care what the actual viewers want? Instead of the junk they are putting on. We need more than one show or movie we need a renewal shows that are this good seldom come along and when they do boneheads cancel them

Perhaps NBC should read some of the postings and take them into consideration? Gee why give us a forum and not use what they find here????

I haven't watched NBC since the end of CJ, either...

Many CJ fans have done the following things: called, written, faxed, emailed NBC executives at both the NBC addresses. Many of us sent boxes of tissues marked with pictures of CJ (to express sadness at the cancellation) or with messages such as "NBC BLOWS". Many of us are continuing to write postcards with brief messages.

Starting the night of the last episode, we wrote to the advertisers to express our issues with the treatment of the show and to discuss the fact that their company's money was not used in a way that would bring them good return on investment because Crossing Jordan was not promoted. (And many of us received positive responses). If you're interested in that campaign, there's a message in the board called "writing to the crossing jordan advertisers".

Some of us have even written the press. Molly Willow at the Columbus Dispatch wrote an article about season/series finales, and many of us wrote to her (and she responded. Her contact information is: mwillow@dispatch.com). We're also writing to Variety about our efforts (here's the contact: joe.adalian@ variety.com).

I'm not sure that NBC will ever do anything to resolve the series, but I'll feel better knowing that I'm continuing to write to NBC executives, telling them of all the positive things done by other networks (such as CBS giving the Jericho fans a 7-episode wrap-up) and that I'm writing to the press to express my disappointment in NBC and that I'm decreasing NBC's ratings by not tuning in. NBC is hurting. They're hitting 20-year rating lows. Advertisers are pulling away, and fans are as well. Crossing Jordan, Studio 60, and The Black Donnellys were all canceled, and fans from each of these shows are boycotting. And with the new programming--game shows and reality TV, other viewers will likely be going away, too...NBC's going to have to figure it out sooner or later. It may not be positive for us, but if they learn a lesson because of us...well at least we've done something.

I myself haven't watched NBC since the end of Crossing Jordan either.... Law and Order SVU was a good show... and the only reason i come to the boards is because I made a lot of friends in such a short time here on the boards....It would be nice to have a 7 episode wrap up season... It would make so many of us happy. From the time I heard for sure it was cancelled, 2 days before the finale all I was hoping for was just a few epis to wrap things up knowing full well that the finale would be only good enough to call a season finale not a series finale...
