Full Version: Sylar's Killing Spree
NBC > Primetime > Heroes > General Heroes Discussion
Kaisar
So i wanted to summarize which powers mr. Gray has shown us, and the number of kills he has made. Doing that would leave us with three things:
- Unregistered Powers
- Unregistered Victims
- Unknown Victims

The unregistered Victims could have had powers as well! And we don't know if he has made any more victims besides the ones the FBI knows of... but we'll leave that out of consideration!

Now Gabriel Gray's death is not a sure thing, with the cockroaches, the blood trail and the confirmation of him playing in the 2nd Season and the lack of any pot pie from mr Linderman he could have acquired a power that gave him any sort of ability to survive a sword in the chest by a small asian fellow.

Sylar has committed several murders, the victims usually being others with powers of their own. In such cases, Sylar removes their brains. Despite targeting a specific group of people, Sylar has not hesitated to kill others when he deems it necessary. People whose deaths have been linked to Sylar and their powers (if any) are listed in chronological order below.

Character / Acquired Power / Episode or graphic novel / Notes
----------------------------------------------------------------

Brian Davis Telekinesis "Six Months Ago"

David Unknown "Turning Point" Murdered in Chicago.

Chandra Suresh None "Seven Minutes to Midnight" Seen in Mohinder's dream.

James Walker Unknown "Don't Look Back\" His corpse was found frozen. Later, Sylar unsuccessfully attempted to kidnap the Walkers' daughter, Molly, from FBI custody. Mrs. Walker None "Don't Look Back" Brain not removed.

Unnamed victim from Barstow Unknown "Don't Look Back" Audrey Hanson mentions this death in "Don't Look Back". She says this person was killed in the same manner as the other special people that Sylar has killed.

Unnamed police officer None "One Giant Leap" Shown frozen in an unaired scene of the episode.

Unnamed FBI agent None "One Giant Leap"

Charlie Andrews Eidetic memory "Seven Minutes to Midnight"

Jackie Wilcox None "Homecoming" Mistaken for Claire Bennet.

Eden McCain None (See note) "Fallout" In order to prevent Sylar from acquiring her power, Eden committed suicide by shooting herself in the head. Not counted as a kill.

Hank None "The Fix"

Unnamed male trucker None "Road Kill"

Zane Taylor Molecular manipulation "Run!" Sylar took on Taylor's identity.

Dale Smither Enhanced hearing "Unexpected" This power is automatic, and thus made Sylar's sense of hearing extremely sensitive for several episodes. He has since adjusted.

Isaac Mendez Precognition ".07%" Isaac's death is seen in the future by Hiro in "Don't Look Back\", and later painted by Isaac himself in "Parasite".

Virginia Gray None "The Hard Part" Sylar accidentally stabbed his mother in the heart with a pair of scissors. He used her blood to create a picture of New York City blowing up.

Ted Sprague Radiation manipulation "Landslide" Sylar informs the police of Ted's whereabouts and later attacks the transport van.

Unnamed police officer None \"Landslide\"

(THANKS WIKIPEDIA)

Sooooo...
That's 18 Murders, 1 Suicide in his presence.
Victims did not have powers: 9
Victims did have powers: 6
Victims having powers is unknown: 3

Mr Gray's Original power:
- Intuitive Aptitude
We've seen mr Gray use the following powers, knowing the source of them:
- Telekinesis (Brian Davis)
- Eidetic Memory (Charlie Andrews)
- Molecular Manipulation (Zane Taylor)
- Enhanced Hearing (Dale Smither)
- Precognition (by Painting, Isaac Mendez)
- Nucleair Radioactivity Manipulation (Ted Sprague)

We've seen mr Gray use the following powers, of which the original source is unknown:
- Cryokinesis (?)

Considering he has commited 2 more murders, of which we know Molly's dad (Mr. Walker) was 1 who did definetly have powers (brain removed) and it was NOT cryokinesis (since he was frozen before brain removal) he has 1 more power we have not yet seen (for sure) and possibly 1 or 2 more (depending on if Cryokinesis was a power he got from one of the listed victims or unlisted).

Some abilities that he has that come close to an actual power, if it\'s not his mastery of Telekinesis, are levitation, short range teleportation, stopping bullets, healing swiftly from wounds, self resurrection, cockroaches? Which could possibly mean he has one or more of the following powers:
- Levitation, weightlessness
- Space Continuum Manipulation, Short Range Teleportation
- Metalkinesis, Magnetism
- Rapid Celluar Regeneration
- Self Ressurection
- Animorphing

...

Who do you think our big friend Sylar got his "Cryokinesis" from?

Does he have 1 or 2 more powers? And what do you think they are?!

And is Sylar (Gabriel Gray) an essentially evil person?

Personally i think Cryokinesis was a power from one of the 3 victims whom's powers were unknown (or not there) and he got Short Range Teleportation from another victim, Mr Walker's ability possibly was the Short Range Teleport (hence Dale not hearing him, him being swiftly in and out of places).

the exploding man
You forgot to mention Intuitive Aptitude, The ability to know how things work without any former knowledge or training.

Storm-drain - it was actually a man-hole cover. So I do not think that it would have been too small for him to disappear into.

Granted, removed Self Liquification from meh list

I really think people are mistaking the directors's choices of giving Sylar dramatic entrances/exits as some sort of power. It would be like saying all teh bad guys in horror movies can teleport. It's just drama.

In any case, it is sort of odd that he's had more victim's than powers displayed. Then again, maybe some of the other ones were fairly useless, or at least for combat.
Sandwich Man
Not knocking the OP but are we trying to figure out Sylar's powers or how did he survive or both?
I noticed in an earlier ep. (on Sci-fi) when Mohinder is talking with the police/FBI he says Sylar has killed six people already (then says all within a certain dist. or all in the same manner) anyhoo my point is he might of had six powers before matter manipulation, hearing, precog., memory, Nuclear, etc...
If you can remember that ep. and cross reference that w/ your original info it may help- o and there are threads already started about Sylar's powers.

I think we keep seeing this roach and it is obviously he can study and learn from anything. Hence he learned how to stay alive when mortally wounded or in grave danger etc...he didn't need to take it's brain (like a post mentioned) he learns and applies to himself.

He got away probably because Hiro didn't mortally wound him (which was CORNY)
and/or he saw the future and knows either he won't die, Cluade will help him or maybe himself getting into the sewer so he just went along with it- WHACK!!!!
