Ok, I know there's already a "what are you doing?" thread for summer 07, but that's more of a "passing the time" kinda thing. This one is purely for goals. things you want to get done (or need to get done) over the summer. If you post them here, we can check up on you and see how far you've come.
Here's mine.
Office-related:
>>Get to 3000 posts
>>Watch S1 and S2 at least five times all the way through
>>Write 3 or more fanfics (and one of them a musical!)
>>Catch the two epis I missed when they rerun (BF, ST)
>>Recruit a new flan
>>See some JK and JF movies (particularly, License to Wed, LilliLove, Blades of Glory, and Shrek the Third)
Non-Office-related:
>>Lose another 15 lbs
>>Organize my room
>>Become a Red Jacket in Mary Kay
>>Finish one of my books (writing, not reading)
>>Watch at least 5 movies with Ewan McGregor
>>Teach my dog how to speak
Ok, I think that's it for now. Anyone else?

-kicking my own as.s into doing 3 miles a day on my treadmill 4-5 times a week. And 30 minutes a day on the elliptical. Since December I have totally slacked off on my exercising and it really shows and all my clothes are tight now.
-finishing part of the attic into a usable space. Hel| i'm tempted to put up a sheet to hide hubbys 10,000+ book collection and Army gear.
-finish painting my kitchen cabinets.
-complete my duties as Mrs. Pennsylvania without having to go to rehab or have a sex tape discovered

my biggest one is getting back into shape. I used to be such a workout Nazi, but now my clothes are tight and I can tell I am not as fit as I used to be.
Plus it will be nice to know I can wear a size 4 agian... sigh, those were the days!
I also need to clean my room and get ready for the next semester of school to start!!

Since so many of us are trying to be more active, we should try to support eachother on that. I like the idea of community as an incentive to be fit, but I don't like the online groups because so many people are obsessive! Would you all like to help keep tabs on each other to make sure we're all staying on the wagon?

-To run/actually exercise at least 4 times a week
-To do stuff this summer and not waste it away...I only have a couple of these before I head off to college and I need to make the most of them aka not sit in my room and watch tv all day, even though its 85 outside

I'm with you. My goal is to get to the gym 5-6 times per week. This isn't optional, it's a must. If anyone else wants me to "motivate", (aka, kick their a$$) them to exercise, let me know.

To everyone who is trying to get in shape, have you already joined a gym? I'm just asking because I finally gave in and joined a Curves after my jeans were way too tight. I stopped for six months when I was out of work and I could feel the difference so I rejoined. It is a half hour workout that is really not that bad. I definitely recommend it if you have limited time and especially if you are self-conscious about working out in front of men--like I am! I also have a little more energy. I am so glad I got off my a$$ and started moving again!

I would love to join a place like that, but the money is the problem for me. My college has a gym in it, but reading a book and working out does not go hand in hand for me. I am going to try to make a certian time everyday I run. Like 2. I think I come home from school and can run for about 30 mins, before working on school work.
It has gotten to the point where I think joining a gym is the only way I am going to whip my a.ss into shape!

Congratulations on the weight loss!!! I love how they put the stats on the wall "So & so lost 5 inches and 10 pounds". When I finally got on the wall, I was so proud! The program is a little repetitious, but it does work!!! When I was paying $65 a month it was at a Curves on 38th & 3rd in Manhattan, which I expected because of the NYC rents. The $41 now is in Queens, NY--still NY, just not as expensive! $34 a month is awesome. If you go three times a week , you're only paying $3 a visit-- that is an awesome deal!

I've heard wonderful things about Curves. My mother-in-law has been interested in it for awhile and I was talking to her about how important it is for women to do strength training to protect their bones and to keep their metabolism up. I think for most women, it is a scary thing to even think about lifting because they don't want to bulk up. So, anyways, she joined last month and she LOVES it. She gets a total body workout and I think there's a lot of confidence that comes with toning.

So, my goal is to do pilates 5 times a week.
