It has been my privilege to see The Duttons perform live. For those of you who saw them for the first time last week-know that all we experienced during the premiere was a simple and amazing 'teaser'. They are packed with undeniable talent! I hope America is given the opportunity to see all that The Duttons can do! If the judges continue to advance The Duttons (and they would lose all credibility if they do not advance true talent like this family) then be prepared, everyone, for some incredible entertainment! They don't just do incredible bluegrass numbers like we saw last week. They can sing, dance, play every instrument you can think of, and I love that they don't just do one genre of music. When I went to their show I saw them mesmorize the crowd with country, rock and roll, classic rock, and even some moving classical. I remember being captivated by their talent and even after 90 minutes I wanted more! They are so diverse in their talent and show that you can't get bored. Just be prepared because the time has finally come that The Duttons get to show all of America real talent! I am eagerly awaiting the next time we get to see this inspiring family bring it to this show! Every time you see The Duttons perform, I promise you will want more! The Duttons bring credibility and truth to the title America's Got Talent!

I just watched the encore of the first show.
I would like to see more of The Duttons.
I guess I have been "teased".
Wolf1969
I agree fully. They're actually some of the first REAL talent that's been on the show. I'm really starting to think Pierce is a total idiot. Does he even have a mind or is he listening to something else in an earphone while the acts are onstage?
DuttonsRockMySocksOff
Wow! I caught the encore performance last night and was completely blown away by the Duttons! They were very energetic and you could feel their love for what they do throughout the whole performance. Piers is insane to say they have to "sack" half of the family. I like how that guy (was it Ben?) answered him when he asked if they were prepared to get rid of half of the family. I didn't know much about the Duttons, but after seeing last night's show, I'm a HUGE fan! Rock on, guys!!
KatyBoo1989
I totally agree with you! The Duttons are amazing! Yes, it was Ben that did the talking for them. He's got a great stage personality! The Duttons are amazing and I'll do everything I can to ensure that they win! Glad you started this topic!

Glad to see I am not the only Dutton Fan. I have been going to their show in Branson about 5 years now. They are sooo good at every type of music. I have seen 89 different shows in Branson and none rock like the Duttons. I have been trying to tell the world how good they are, but just can't type that fast. Now I think a lot of folks are going to find out what I already know. The Duttons RULE! I didn't even notice the first time that they really didn't sing, I was just so excited to find them on the show. But I am anxious for everyone to hear their voices are great.

I guess I am a new fan of those Duttons.
I will be watching when they are back on the show in Las Vegas.
There are a few people so far that I want to see again and those Duttons are included.

Welcome to the club Monett! The Duttons have some very loyal fans, and we are hoping that America will get the chance to see what we have known for some time.

Hi from a Branson-ite. Yeah, the Duttons are great musicians! They do have a website:

http://www.theduttons.com and a myspace: http://www.myspace.com/theduttons

I know you can get their tickets directly from their theater. Most shows in town run around $30 plus tax, per person. There's one place I've found where you can get tickets to a lot of the shows at a discount, without a timeshare or vacation club spiel. With this place, you give them money - they give you tickets. That's all there is to it. It's call 2 for 1 tickets. I've actually used them to buy tickets for family who came up visiting. They have a website, too:

http://www.branson2for1tickets.com

No, I'm not paid for telling anybody this stuff - and yeah, it's my first post - so don't fuss at me... I'm just passing along information.

Also, if any of y'all caught the other Branson entertainers... It was kinda like 'old home week' seeing the last 2 shows.

Gregory Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre - in Branson from 2001 until recently - now in Vegas
Johnny Lonestar - performing with The Clay Cooper Show (you can get their tickets at 2 for 1, too)
2 Fluffy Women - I believe they're still performing in Branson
Rick Maisel (washing machine guy) - He was in Branson with Ripley's Live in 2001
Mike Bliss - performing at Silver Dollar City as well as with the Brett Family at the Legends In Concert Theater

I haven't seen Mike on the show yet, but was told he would be on it. Perhaps I missed it? I was told he was on Entertainment Tonight, but I haven't seen that either.

Have fun, enjoy the show - and come to Branson whenever you get the chance. There's a lot of great shows to see! Wonderful entertainers all the way from the top rated tribute artists, such as the Beatle's Tribute Liverpool Legends (they're managed by George Harrison's sister!), Mike Walker, Jackson Cash, Road to Rock, Toni Roy (Elvis), Take It to the Limit (Eagles) & all of the performers at Legends In Concert, to the original artists, such as Andy Williams, Yakov Smirnoff, Glen Campbell, Mickey Gilley, Moe Bandy, Fabian, Bobby Vee, Paul Revere and the Raiders, and Jim Stafford, to specialty acts such as Shoji Tabuchi, Shanghai Acrobats, Cirque, and lots of other family shows like the Duttons, the Presleys, the Baldknobbers, the Brett Family, Circle B Chuckwagon, the Doug Gabriel Show, the Clay Cooper Show as well as the Silver Dollar City attractions - White Water, Celebration City, Dixie Stampede, Branson Belle and lots and lots of other shows that come at different times of the year. We now also have the RFD TV Theater, which has a Revue show almost every day - but they also bring in national artists like the Beach Boys! That's pretty exciting, even for us who live here!

Okay, I'm done rambling... rolleyes.gif

I have to admit that the Duttons are amazingly talented. I will be surprised if they can top their first performance when they get to Vegas.

I don't know how it works in Branson, but usually those "2 for 1" or "Cheap Tickets Tonight" places have a catch. Usually it's bad seats or you can't get your tickets until after the show starts or something like that.

Funny!

Question:
Exactly how many Duttons are there in the Dutton Family?
typesylvester
This family doesn't have talent worth 1 million dollars. After watching it, i was dissapointed with the similarities this act had with the first season's Celtic Springs. It was a zoo on the stage with every member of the family playing music. Very disspointing and without a question do not deserve the million.

Monett, Dean and Sheila Dutton have 7 biological children. The oldest one lives in CA and does not perform with them regularly. The other 6 children are all married and they perform in the show. That makes 15 Duttons. Add in their 18 grandchildren and that makes 38 and there's one more on the way! I love this family!

I wish we could have seen more then 90 seconds of this family. They are very very talented and if given the chance to show their true talent, I think you will find they
certainly do deserve the million.

Our family loves the Duttons! ... Tell me, what's not to love about them? Each Dutton has his/her own specialty and they blend together so well! From Ben dancing to Amy sawing on the fiddle - and every Dutton in between, this talented family shows the world that wholesome entertainment is still "in" and that American family values are still alive and well! Add to this the behind-the-scenes story of a family that has dedicated itself to caring for others and "doing the right thing - no matter what the cost" and you can't deny, "The Duttons have the right stuff!"

HEre is my two cents on the Duttons. A lot of you will yell at me and i am prepared for that. I highly enjoyed the Duttons performance. I somewhat agree with PEirs though. While i don't think they should get rid of half the family, i do think that they could do without the little kids. The parents and grandparents playing the back up are perfect, but the main focus of the act is on the six older kids who were playing all the different instruments.

I ordered a DVD of The Duttons off their website and it was fantastic! It was much more than I expected! Excellent quality and very entertaining. I loved what I saw them do on AGT, but I was blown away by the versatility of the hour show that I saw on the DVD. They play so many different styles of music and they feature so many different things, it kept me completely entertained the entire 60 minutes of the DVD. They each play a bunch of different instruments, their vocal harmonies are amazing, and their instumental skill is extremely impressive. I can't wait to see what they do next on AGT. Also, on the DVD they only feature their small children on a few songs. It was very entertaining and very tastefully done. What we saw on AGT when the kids ran out on the end was the last song of the DVD. In the context of their show it works great because you get to know the family and the small children before they come out at the end for those few moments and it's a great payoff. I can see why Piers, who hasn't seen their entire show, had a problem with all the kids running out at the end because it didn't make much sense taken out of context of their show.
I have become a huge Dutton fan since I saw them on the premier and from what I've seen, I think they'll blow America away with their amazing talents!

Here's the link: https://server6.lfchosting.com/duttons/cgi-...prod_id=DVD-405

If for some reason that doesn't work, Log onto www.theduttons.com then click on the "store" link at the top of the page, then click "Duttons on-line store", then "DVDs/Videos", and you'll see a bunch of videos you can order. I ordered their Making Music 2 dvd set. It's their latest release. One dvd is a 60 minute special of their show and the other is behind the scenes, commentary, bloopers, and interviews. It's very high quality & very entertaining.

Well, at the show the crowd cheers when the kids come out at the end. Most of the show is just the adults. We went again last weekend and I would have to say this group gets better each time they are on stage. They look like they are having fun as well as doing a fantastic job. We found several in the audience that were seeing them for the first time and when we asked what was their favorite part one lady said, "Who could pick one part, the beginning to the end was great." I see they are listed as a country act, but this is the one show in Branson that has every type of music in the show. Ben, is the son that told the judges that he couldn't say he would leave out any of the family, does moves on stage that seem humanly impossible His Johnny B Goode number is off the charts! We are so glad we didn't have to wait for America to find this family, but now that they have we are happy to share them with all the world.

Yeah, someone else said this, but they could have stretched this episode out to 2 or 3 episodes easily and shown what the acts did. If you figure 71 acts each got 3 minutes to perform, that equals 3 hours and 33 minutes of just the performances. Everyone was edited down to much less than 3 minutes and many (if not most) weren't shown at all. In fact, I think there are some people who made it to the short list that haven't been shown in either the audition round or the Las Vegas Callback show. Every list that I've seen can't come up with all of the 35 short list acts.

By the way, one of the best places to look for that kind of information is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/America%27s_G...allbacks_Part_1. Great rundown on who went on, who was eliminated, etc.

I am excited to see the voting episodes though. I assume that since the public will vote their favorite acts through, that the public has to be given the oportunity to see the acts perform.
Duttonfan
Is there a list of which performers will be on tomorrow night? I was wondering about the Duttons. I have enjoyed learning so much on this board. I even found out that the Duttons did beatboxing last year in their show. I had never heard that term until someone explained about it on here. It was funny we went to the Dick Clark American bandstand show in Branson on Saturday night. One of the drummers did a number on a cardboard box. I had told my sister about beatboxing and she whispered to me. Now he is really beatboxing. I am so anxious to see more then 90 seconds of each of the 20!

I hope many get much attention for their talents. But of course I am routing for the Duttons all the way!!
Aretee
I am a completely biased respondent because I had the honor of working for the Duttons for a few years. I love this family and hope that the family I am creating is as happy, hard-working, and dedicated as they are.

Someone mentioned that they doubted that the Duttons could pull off a performance as good as the first round. I have seen them do it night, after night, after night. Their talent is real and it comes from YEARS of consistant and diligent practice. Their show in Branson is a success because they put in the hours to make it that way. Everyone has a job and everyone is expected to do it.

They scheduled to appear on the July 24th show. I hope they get a little more air time than last week. I was disappointed that they were reduced to about 10 seconds of air-time.

Even if the Duttons do not sweep the competition (they are already successful musicians in their own right) I encourage anyone who is traveling through southwest Missouri to stop and see their show. Their friendliness is sincere and they spent about 30 minutes after every show just talking to guests and signing autographs for those who ask.

For those of you who are not going to be in southwest Missouri I urge to you check out their website, as linked before and check out the work that Josh Dutton and his wife Evette are doing at: Freely Bound .

Someone posted the number of family members that belong to the Duttons, but you forgot to mention the son of a family friend that they adopted (she passed away) and the 5 children from Kazakhstan and the Ukraine they adopted. I believe they are all in college, now. So, when Piers told them to leave some family out...they DID!

I am glad that they are garnering so much support. This family has worked hard to be where they are and I am glad to see that they are being blessed for their efforts.

Thanks, this is very interesting.
Nice to see normal people with good talent in the show.

They also have 3 more daughters-in-law that are equally talented. My sister hadn't been to the show for 2 years, but when she started to tell them who she was, they remembered. You know most families have one very talented person and then some that are less talented. Well, I have never found "less" with any member of this family. They continue to amaze every time I see them, and that is as often as possible!!

I hope I will be home as well. I think the online voting is open for a number of hours. I would love to see the Duttons advance into the next round, but if they don't win it all...they are already successful musicians. Their show in Branson is doing fairly well and they have been extremely blessed. Though I would love to see Josh and Evette's new albumn take off (don't forget to check out www.freelybound.com ).

I do, however, believe that people have the wrong impression of show-biz in Branson. These people don't just show up at the theatre before the show and perform. They run the theatre, deli, motel, do their own promotions, sound, PR, web-site, video production, etc. It is a very involved and stressful job. When I worked there I did everything from cleaning bathrooms (at homes and the theatre) to box office, to in-town promotion, to concession stand, to spotlight operator, to babysitter, to DVD/VHS sales. And that went for ANYONE in the family. Dean and Sheila Dutton could be found behind the concession stand counter to sell you popcorn. So, those nay-sayers who are moaning about how the Duttons have "made it" and shouldn't be allowed in the competition have no idea what they are talking about. They are making it...present tense. These people won't stop working unless they're dead. And even then, I'm sure God has more in store for them.

Yes, I think that the show is really starting to be good.
I watch to see the different acts, not the Judges antics.
But it's interesting to see which acts are better with a longer viewing time and which acts seem to be "one note" or disappointing when you get to watch them again.

I am not sure if the Dutton family comes to this site, but just in case: Best wishes and good luck. From what I have seen the judges picked the weird and unusual rather then what I feel is true talent. Maybe they will make me wrong. I certainly hope so!!!!

I have watched you each year go from good to fantastic, always working to improve.
When we drive the hour to Branson we have a choice of about 80 shows and we find more and more we pull into your show. Many settle for the same thing year after year, but you try and change, improve, and surprise each time we sit there enjoying each moment of your fantastic talent. From my 87 year old mother to my 3 year old great-nephew, our family knows who has talent in America!!!!

I watched the clip on the internet but I haven't seen the Tevo'd versions. What did the judges say and why did Peirs X them?

Anyone realize that Abby is pregnant and due in October? She looks fantastic! (She's the one with the long, straight, blonde hair. I love to hear Josh wail on that harmonica, too. He taught himself, you know.

Do you need any more shameless promotion? I love these guys!

I agree they are very talented musicians. When you play an instument it makes you understand just how talented they really are.

I prefered their bluegrass style music to the La Bamba though.

I have liked the Duttons since their first auditions. They are highly talented, excellent musicians, and put on a great show.

I had to watch their semi-final performance via nbc.com, because, at least on my television, the screen went black (for NBC only) in the break just before their semi-final performance, and the show didn't return till after their performance was completed (did this happen to anyone else?), so I never got to hear the judging comments (other than Piers X'ing them during their performance). I will say that this semi-final performance was weaker than their prior performances. I am however rooting for them to make it into the finals. If they do, I'm sure they'll give us every reason to make them winners.

The Duttons are a Great Act...BUT...Though I luved their entertaining style tonight...it was very energetic ...still...they don't have voice to sing the LaBamba...I'm sure they'll be back and I'll be watching!

Oh I don't know. I mean they are talented & all, but what seems like an entire wedding party, or my whole neighborhood singing & running around is too much all at once. It's overkill or something. None of the singers stand out. It's kind of a party on stage & I'm not enjoying it.

In Philly we have something called "String Bands" it's a bunch of people playing instruments, singing, dancing in a parade on New Years Day. When they perform they are in sync with each other. The Duttons seem to be all over the place. It's like a parade on New Years Day without the timing & being in line, being in time. It's just all too much & not enough. It's just not for me.

No one's said why Peirs Xed them (or did I miss it?).

I think they are "all over the place" because they are attempting to demonstrate that they can play all the different instruments. Unlike other acts in the show (that may be VERY talented) they don't just sing. They play several instruments, and dance, etc. In their show they do have numbers that focus on individuals. La Bamba is John's piece, normally. Incidentally, all four boys and Judith speak Spanish. It's not just for that song.

I hope they move on!

I didn't see their earlier performances. Based on the 'La Bamba' performance, they were terrible. The guitar player wanked his way through, the singers all picked their own key (none of them right) and the jumping around bit was just dumb.
They are 'entertainers' in the worst possible way. Nice costumes, big smiles, flashy lights and enough noise to make your hearing aid fail.
I think that people who are fans of this car wreak are just ashamed to admit they were taken when they bought tickets to see them. Send them home and let them learn to play ONE instrument well.

THIS FAMILY SUCKS. sOMEONE PLEASE SHOVE THEM INTO THE SPACE SHUTTLE AND LAUNCH THEM INTO THE SUN. THEY ARE A WASTE OF SPACE AND NEED TO BE WIPED OUT OF THE SHOW AND OFF THE EARTH. THEY MAKE ME SICK. TALENTLESS BUNCH OF MORONS.
