1. He should have been on American Idol. There is no excuse to be on AGT.
2. I don't know if it was just me and Sharon, but I found his voice rather odd. You know when a girl tries to do a low voice, and it sounds weird? Well, I had that problem with his voice. It would be best not to look at him as he performs, as his young image screws up his voice for me even more.

He has short curly hair, came out near the end, sang My Cherrie La'Mour or however it sounds. David says this is what AGT is about. ect.

Oh that guy...
I dunno... the singing acts without music I tend to phase out... how am I supposed to get a true example of how you sound? People always sound different when they have the music behind them so I felt like I didn't get the total package... but maybe that's because I'm not a talent agent so I just don't have the ability to see the act despite lack of music.
Over all I give it a... meh... I mean I'm so over the singers I don't know what to do. There are just so many and they all think they're superstars and it's just a blur. I only turn around to the tv when I hear something that really sounds like it's complete and well tuned and on the ball, and sharp and crisp... not something that "could be" if given a chance. I say when it comes to that, only let through the acts that have gotten it perfected, not the ones that "might get it perfected" by the end.

His name was Manuel Romero. He said in his promo that he was a singer and songwriter and they filmed him playing his guitar backstage. Then when he came out he was just singing acapello like all the other singers. He sang My Cherie Amore. (sp?) Then the Hoff said, "That's exactly what this show is all about!" "Guys like you who can sing." Hmmmm.
I just thought he was okay. Curious why he didn't sing and play the guitar.
*Did we ever figure out in all of those posts why that girl barbershop group "Underage" was not on?*

I agree with the first post. He sounded like he was trying to mimic someone. Like it was unatural for him to sound like that. He was on key and everything though. I would give him a second chance. But it was a very very odd voice. He wouldnt have made it through the first round in american idol...

Augh!!!
Why does he need a second chance... he got a first chance! People who got their first chance and did EXCELLENT should go on... people who did "so-so" should come back next year

I have to agree, when you are under the gun there are no second chances--take what life gives you and run with it. Get it right the first time or come back some other time.

He's performing right now here in Cali.
He's okay. Not that much soul and he didn't hit any kind of notes that impressed me. He's gorgeous and the girls seemed to dig him.
Sharon knows what she's talking about. Piers doesn't at all.

I thought he did very well, and I'm looking forward to hearing more from him.
Thanks to the person who posted his name. With that info, I was able to find him on MySpace. Can't wake the kids right now, but tomorrow I plan to have a listen.

I agree that he would have had a better chance on American Idol. He's right in the AI age requirement, so he could have elected to compete in a more exclusive tournament.
