what type of experiences has everyone had with nbc message boards? is it safe? it any safer than mynewbabybook.com or nbc.com/reel? my husband has been imploring me to do my research. soooo... positive/negative - all feedback WELCOME!

i'm not exactly sure what you're asking..but IMO its just fun to talk to people that you share a common interest with. It helps me not feel so 'alone' in my Office Addiction. Its like AA or..OA. So thusfar, the experience has been great! Did that help at all?

Hi Elaine! Welcome. This is my first message board experience and it has been a very positive one. Everyone here is very friendly and the moderators do a great job of keeping tabs and making sure everyone is playing nice and keeping the language pretty clean. The best way to be safe is to remember that you are in control of how much personal information you share with us. Most of us use names that are completely unlike our own names and we have very little info on our profiles. I only use the Office boards, but I am sure the other NBC boards are quite the same. Take a look around our topic threads, that'll give you a feel of how things go around here. Office-Holic and Officionada are our moderators and are always willing to help, you can PM them with any questions or concerns. Good luck, we hope you stay around and if you do plan to stay, just be warned, we are all crazy about the Office here!!

By and large, we're a decent bunch, a couple of idiots notwithstanding. I have found that some opinions get the member flamed pretty well (I still have the scars...), but as a rule, we're pretty well-behaved. However, nothing is perfect and neither are we. Some members like to irritate people by deliberately posting inflammatory comments or rhetoric; others don't seem to have much of a sense of humour at times. These things don't last long, though.

So fear not...I'm prepared to say that at least 95% of us are house-broken.

I've found a lot of very awesome people on here. Not really anyone who I was concerned about. There are even a couple of people who I have talked to outside of the board and exchanged personal email/phone numbers with. All positive experiences.

The moderator is outstanding. Best I've ever experienced on a message board.

Definately love this board! If he's worried you don't have to put any personal info at all...you could even get a new account with a screen name that is in no way related to your actual name

Ok, not personally experienced. I've been on other boards where people have been booted for any slight at all. This place is very well moderated.

I have a in-law relative named Elaine Young from Texas, are you her?? The boards are great. Safe & effective.

Is she trying to get information or cure a headache??

The only downside are the mandatory weekly conference calls once you hit 2000 posts. Office-holic and I usually slip out of those to go get a pedicure...

Don't forget the club dues once you hit the 500 Club.

Be smart....be nice to everyone....if someone says something stupid just ignore it.....don't give out your name, address or phone number and you'll be fine. It's really just common sense. It's a highlight of the day to get on the boards and read about what's new with everyone. These people are genuinely funny, smart, clever and caring. They could all be liars, but I doubt it. I would tell the husband not to worry and to join in as well.

elaineyoung5000, this is a great bunch of caring, fun people from around age 14 to who knows how old. It's pretty amazing that such an eclectic group of people can get along so well, and truly enjoy each others' company and appreciate each other. Welcome!
