I have been watching America's Got Talent when I have time. I have noticed that Jerry Springer is the host. In my opion Jerry Springer was not the best choice for hosting the contest. Jerry is not a believable host. It's hard to believe his sincerity after just watching 1 minute of his talk show. Granted this show is NOT American Idol and probably never will be. Paris Hilton would make a better host in my opinion.

If you watched the show all the way through you would see that he treats people with compasion and is genuinely excited with them about their opportunity to be on the show. He seems to be trying hard to make this show work. Last week when he took his shirt off, I thought I'd faint from laughing so hard. He wasn't trying to be trashy ...he was trying to be entertaining...and putting himself out there for the sake of the show. Jerry is not the same "Jerry" on this show. I just hope the audience can remember that and stop chanting.

I'm so tired of people bashing Jerry on AGT. I completely understand the opinion that he may or may not be as good a host as Regis, that's a fair opinion, but just bashing him because he's Jerry Springer is so annoying. He's done nothing wrong on AGT. He's trying to be a fun and lighted-hearted, host, encouraging acts, and keeping things light especially when the Judges are in their "moods".
Yes, the producers should have taken some steps to prevent chants of "Jerry" as anyone with a braincell should have predicted that happening at least once, but it seems to have only happend once (maybe twice if I missed one) so maybe they already put a stop to it. At any rate, it wasn't his fault, he didn't encourage it.
So lay off the guy... I have more tolerance for Peirs bashing than Jerry bashing because at least Piers actively does things to make people want to kill him, Jerry hasn't done anything except be a good host. If you think he's not as good as Regis that's fine though, he may not be.

I won't watch the Jerry Springer show, but that doesn't mean I don't like him as a host of this show.
Last year we did watch the show because of Regis. This year we were sure we caught
a glimpse of the Duttons during a commercial several times before the first show aired. So honestly that is why we watched, but Jerry is really adding some fun to the show. I loved it when Piers was saying there were too many Duttons and Jerry came walking out with Amy Dutton's baby boy. So far I would give him two thumbs up as host of the show. The funny part was that was only part of the Dutton family. Wonder what Piers would have done if all of them had been on stage? I really don't think Regis would have brought the baby out, so as much as I love Regis, Jerry is really adding to the show.

Please don't talk badly about Jerrry. He is doing a great job with the crappy show his has to work with.
He seems to care about the contestants and is making the show better not worse.

Jerry does APPEAR to be giving the contestants encouragement, praise for a job well done and hug when they get booted, but that wasnt my point. In my opion Jerry doesnt have "HEART" when he says and does these things.
The Jerry Springer Show is such a laughable show. He show has the stangest people with the most unusual relationships and situations on it that it is difficult for me to seperate his show from his hosting AGT.
It would be like asking Jim Carey, Dana Carvey, Ben Stiller or Adam Sandler to play a role in Shindler's List. It just doesn't work.

Have you ever seen Jerry on Fox news or CNN? He has a totally different side to him as well as poliical analyst.
You you saw him on dancing with the stars he also seem pretty humble and seem to care about really be honest is caring about his partner, and he seemed to really care about his daughter. I don't see if has fake or heartless.
I don;t think ben Stiller, Adam Sandler Jim Carey etc would be caught doing this show. I know it is highly rated but it certainly isn;t highly respected . Even here on the message board there are very few people who really seem to like the show, I say it is about 90% bashing.

Even though I may not appreciate Jerry as much as other's do, I still enjoy watching the show just for seeing how the "average joe" can perform as well if not better than the people that we consider professionals. I do wish they would restrict "the professionals" from competeing. The title of the show is America's Got Talent. The World is mostly made up of the "average joe" not professionals.

NBC seems to be infamous now for recruiting special talent for their reality shows. I know last year for AGT 4 of the 10 final acts were recruited from places like vegas to have an instant pass through the audtions. That is why the show will never have real credibility.
If you check out the last comic standing boards, it is full of comments about how nbc hand picked the comedians, not giving any non-established people a chance to even audition. I don;t know the world of comedy all that well but from what i have read most of the finalist of last comic standing have been headlining for years. They are the average funny guy that tries out on a whim.
That is why my favorite reality show of all time was fox's paradise hotel. When the show took that avergae guy "dave' from boston and mix him in with the regular hot singles on the reality show , it made for the most interesting show I had seen.
