I know catching up on long running boards can seem impossible, so just skimming the last few pages I guess would be the best idea. Gives you an idea of what its all about and who the regulars on the thread are.
As far as the vids go, cant help ya cause I dont know how, but the main thread for it is here
Fan vids thread
Im and sure someone there can help you!

Welcome!

The Vegas line of editing programs from Sony are very good. There are several versions ranging from a cheap home editor to a full featured professional editing suite.

yeah, don't worry so much about catching up... but the really popular ones a lot of times don't require knowledge of past pages. For instance... games. Games and almost any Off Topic (OT) thread does not require knowledge of more than the past 2-3 pages. But from there, just check it every day and you'll be fine. We'll make an obsessive office flan in no time! laugh.gif wink.gif

You'll probably have to pay for one like the aforementioned Vegas, unless you're a supernerd like me. In that case, you could use a program like VirtualDubMod with Avisynth and load/edit clips with either one. Also, Debugmode's Wax is an editor that works with Avisynth.

I assume you'll need to capture the clips somehow. The best way is to get an HD capture card, but many programs will work okay if you hook up a VCR to your PC somehow. To load up a 1080i file into VirtualDubMod, you'd first have to open it with a program called DGIndex (part of the DGDecode package, BTW you should also have the decomb package) and save it as a d2v file. Then create a text file called "yourfootage.avs". These lines should work fine for The Office in 1080i:

mpeg2source("yourfootage.d2v")
assumetff().telecide().decimate(5)

Then open up yourfootage.avs in VirtualDubMod or Wax. To work with audio too, now you're talking real complications and that would be WAY beyond the scope of this post (but a program called Cutterman can load separate video and audio files and cut them together). So there it is: pay some money or be a supergeek.
