For those who missed it, several months ago, VB created a thread on on the Grease mb, a completely bogus one, and much to her surprise, it got a mention on Viewer Buzz.

I didn't know where else to post this...when they acknowledge their fans, the cast always does a shout out to OfficeTally, GMMR, and Northern Attack... we never get mentioned. I feel a little left out. I don't think we're any less rabid a fan base than the others. Just wondering about others thoughts on this.

Yeah, I've always kind have noticed this too. But what can you do. Maybe they don't know we exist, becuase it's not a fan that started this website. But we sure as heck run it.

Personally, I prefer our mb to the others listed. It's much more condusive to in-depth conversation and fun games. Plus, there's a range of topics that rivals any other.

Amen to that. No, who am I kidding, I don't even know about any other websites. Why try for sparkling wine when you've already got good champagne?

I prefer ours too and we have a ton more threads, topics, and I think members. I wonder if it is because it is the network site and not a fan-initiated blog? I certainly read the others as they always have updated show news but there's not much interactivity or cameraderie that I see. How do we get noticed?

I feel that too, sometimes. Mostly I wish the cast could enjoy some of the great threads here - especially the really creative stuff like haikus, limmericks and Think like Creed. But we are rabid enough not to need any official recognition to be here everyday.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. It's a little disappointing considering the depth of our obsession and dedication. They may just assume that the fans that meet here are just casual viewers coming in to talk after an episode. I've visited only one other Office mb and I didn't stay long (I don't remember which one). Honestly, nothing beats what we have here. Our mods do an excellent job of keeping everything organized and keeping everything under control, and I agree about the camraderie and friendships. Maybe we don't get mentioned with the other message boards because we're so much more than a message board!

Perhaps the mods could point this out to TPTB at NBC.

A boycott of the board is self-defeating. Besides, look at all the cool things we'd miss.

I'm open to suggestions. Maybe any MySpacers here could post a greeting on Jenna's site from all of us on "The Forgotten Boards".

The note which I posted to Officetally seems to have been deleted by their moderators. Without explanation, without notice, and without being made visible to everyone there.

I get the feeling this was no accident. I was polite, respectful, and made no implications that we had been left out/ I am frankly baffled. Is there some kind of dispute, etc., between the 2 boards that I/we don't know about?? If not, their conduct tonight is very strange indeed.

I doubt it was deleted. Tanster has to approve all comments (due to spam)- so even though it looks like you posted a comment- only you can see it until she approves it

I know that. It is no longer there. It was #113 and now there is no #113. It was definitely deleted. I have e-mailed her to request an explanation.

That is weird. For the record, there are absolutely no hard feelings between OT and us - tanster and I communicate as often as either of us have time to and there's been nothing but mutual respect and admiration between the two sites. Let's wait until morning and see how this turns out...

I'm one of Jenna's MySpace "friends" so I'll try to mention us next time I post.

I love OfficeTally and GMMR (I've only been to Northern Attack a few times, but it was cool). Just a thought: those sights are easier to look at on first glance, meaning there's a big picture or a very clear paragraph right there in front of your eyes, telling you the latest Office news. Maybe the cast/crew find it easier to check out those sights quickly?

Our MB has so much more content that it can be hard to know where to begin (I'm recalling my not-so-distant days as a newbie). If you're simply looking for the lastest Office info, one of those sights will have it smack dab on the homepage. No scrolling, no searching, no wondering what thread something might be in. Again, I'm just wondering if the busy cast and crew check out those sights because they're "easier" for a casual reader to navigate than our MB? Am I making any sense?

Dont' get me wrong, I LOVE this MB and that's why I'm a member. I posted my first comment on GMMR just today, about something totally random. I've never posted on OfficeTally, but I do read it and GMMR almost daily (Jenna called Tanster today--lucky Tanster!).

I'm just trying to comfort my own hurt feelings about being "ignored" by the cast and crew by coming up with possible reasons why. I'm not sure it's working, but it's worth a try. Maybe if the cast/crew only mentioned the official NBC Office site, the grassroots sites would feel neglected. Somebody's going to feel left out, and sadly, it's us. But, even if we're not mentioned specifically, I do believe they know we're here and they love us madly.

Wow. Really??!? Weird . . . . No dispute I know of, hmmmmm . . . . I know in the past Tanster's used the term "NBC Boards" to reference us when someone's passed on a tip or a link to her that she's used. Wonder what the story is this time. Let's see if it shows up tomorrow, or if she answers your inquiry.

How's it shakin'? You're hilarious! The earthquake woke me up this morning. The bed was shaking violently and hubby's out of town, so...anyway, I thought it was a dream until i checked on the internet when I got up. I feel like I'm *finally* a Californian after 10 years of living here: I woke up and fell back to sleep during a 50-second earthquake. It just bored me, apparently!

Excellent! Back in Iowa, I slept through a tornado once. I just need to sleep through a hurricane and I'll have a trifecta of "Yawn...is that all you've got, Mother Nature?" [Knocks on wood as she tempts Mother Nature. ]

Funny, the cast and crew certainly seem to appreciate us when they have a live blog, but the board itself is never referenced outside of the blog. The cast has been asked several times if they read the boards - pretty much all of them say no because they don't want to read bad things about themselves - as if we would say bad things - we certainly recognize the difference between an actor and the role they play.

Still, it would be nice to be recognized for all the hard work we do to promote the show, and for them to know how much we enjoy it.

Hi Jazzman, your post is there this morning so it probably was just momentarily in the ether until it was approved. Great job!

I think it really is all about the fact that the smaller sites are primarily run by a single person and so it is easier to reach out and recognize that person. We are so large and with so many members it is just more difficult to recognize us as we have no single face out there. Also our material doesn't get picked up in the press. I know GMMR having been on her chat over on BuddyTV every Thursday, she has a made a lot of contacts in the "industry". I don't know how she did it but Jenna chatted with us one night back in the fall, yes you heard me right, it was surreal. I don't know much about Tanster but she herself has her own following.

Jazzman is now #113 and I'm #115. Conspiracy theories neutralized.

black cat is right - we have a LOT of info and it's hard to find things. We're hoping to do something about that over the next couple of weeks so that things will be a lot easier to find.

Oh, and one more point on OT, GMMR, and NA. Those were the sites that lobbied so hard for supersizing Casino Night at the end of season 2. And they were around since before this MB was established by NBC (late March 2006). So, they kind of are the Original fan sites as opposed to the Official fan site.

Anywho, hang in there and please, no one, hang yourselves for lack of recognition.

Just to clarify--I wasn't complaining about the abundance of info/threads on this site. I love that we're so well-rounded! Thanks for whatever updates/upgrades you guys are working on, though! I'm sure they'll be fabulous!

Thanks for reminding me of the history of the various sites--I once knew those three were around first, but had forgotten. Like I wrote last night, I do love those sites and am just basically jealous of Kathie and Tanster and their access to the cast!

Hey! I didn't interpret it as complaining. I've been lobbying for the ability to create sub-forums and organize since I started modding (I think we're right around my one year mod-iversary, come to think of it! ), and I'm very excited that this ability is finally coming. We're doing some behind the scenes testing and getting approval for our categories and then will be able to give this place a mini-makeover.

Glad you knew I wasn't complaining. I'm having some problems lately with my in-laws misinterpreting almost everything I say and do, so I'm a little paranoid. I find myself explaining and re-explaining myself a lot. Guess that's spilling over into my posts! I'm doing it right now! In this post! Grrr!

Hey guys, what's the big deal? Personally I didn't join this board hoping or expecting that the cast of the show would read anything I ever posted. You guys are sounding like a bunch of needy, clingy girlfriends.

I don't think that's what they mean, G. Personally I love the show and joined to talk about it with other cool flans such as yourself. It's just that the stars tend to single out the other sites in interviews and such. It would just be nice for someone to mention us. We're not all clingy and needy. Group hug!

What you don't know is he's sent Jenna, BJ and Angela all multiple friend requests on myspace and has been rejected. He pretends like he doesn't care, but he cries himself to sleep every night.

Well, the thing is, I visit OT and GMMR all the time. And, even though I don't ever post there, I see myself as part of the "fan community", so when jenna or any of the other stars reference them, I still see it as referencing everyone. Besides, doesn't television without pity also have a board? They don't get mentioned either.
