With the help of fans and human passion, there is always hope. wink.gif We are trying to get a season 2!! We all want a season 2. I think the DVD sales will help that cause. For more info on the DVD check out the "DVD Information" thread.

Hopefully another network will pick it up. I know nbc wont, but there is still hope for another network at least. The show was to great to be thrown away.

Don't ever give up hope! Hope is what keeps us fighting for this amazing show. We need everyone to keep the faith and keep hope alive!

Since TBD was aired on NBC.. from the start, you would think it has the potential.. definitely for season 2, whether they missed a marketing opportunity or not.

From streaming online episodes.. you could see there were up to 900+ guests viewing this same board on the Monday nights that new episodes were available.

There are iTunes numbers to look at as it was always in the top 10 most downloaded episodes and season.

The HDNet pick up..

Now the DVD sales.. this is where TBD has to hunker down and grasp.

I'm pretty sure that NBC wanted to kill it. I mean, they didn't even advertise the fact that the episodes were playing online. All my friends who watched it on the TV had no idea that they could finish the season online.

Honestly, every show I end up liking gets cancelled and I have a feeling that this is gonna be the same. If that's the case I really hope that Haggis or Moresco will at least tell us what the end would've been like. I've never gotten this much into a show before and if I can't even know the ending I'll be really mad.

I would like to know also where the story would have gone. I still hope another network picks this up either as a series or a miniseries. Even a movie - anything to have some sort of closure.

Me too! I truely hope that Haggis & Moresco will not let TBD go away! It is loosely based on Moresco's life which is personal to him. They sat on this for 10 years. I just can't see that this is the end!!

I was watching the crew commentary on the episode where Jimmy and Joey fight that huge guy to get money and Moresco was talking about how he hates watching fight scenes in movies because they're never real, and speaking of experience from the fights he's been in, they're always sloppy and end in a couple of minutes.

So yeah, you're right about it being personal to Moresco...

Yo mailboxcow! Haven't I seen you over at TFL?? I have never watched the commentary b/c my computer sucks but will try to at work....try is the optimal word here!

I just believe that they wouldn't let TBD end this way!

I've heard so many rumors about different networks picking up the show, i.e., showtime and HDnet. I know nothing is set in stone but who knows. I have an HDtv but I have to subscribe to HDnet and I don't know how much it is and frankly I don't have the money to blow on it. If HDnet does pick up TBD for season 2 then I definitely will splurge but I can't see it being highly successful on a network that not many people know about. I really wish the rumor of shotime picking it up is true. Dexter didn't do so hot the first time around but did amazing AFTER the season ended and the first season was ondemand. So, Dexter, thankfully, is getting another chance for a second season. I can definitely see TBD being highly successful on showtime or hbo (that John from Cincinati or whatever is such a snoozer).

Hey there G&G! HDnet is already airing the first season. I think the pilot aired on June 13th. It comes on Wednesday nights at 8:00 EST. Depending on your provider it is an extra $8 - $10 per month.

I've seen mailboxcow at TFL. He's our resident satirical writer!
Oh, I loved watching the commentary. I'm really looking forward to the DVD so I can watch all the commentary again. One of my favs was Olivia and Billy watching the scene of Tommy coming to get Jenny in Easy Is The Way. She said she was gonna start crying it was so sad. (*sniff*) Can't wait!

I definitely believe that there's hope for a season 2. Other shows have been revived or given chances for another season based upon fan campaigns, DVD sales, or another network's interest in the show. I think TBD would definitely be a hit for anyone who wants to follow through with a second season.

I agree.. There's definitely hope.. but that's if you want it. I'll mention it here. I'm not sure if you all recall JAG? That was cancelled by NBC after the first season in 95. CBS immediately picked it up as a midseason replacement in 96.. and JAG had 9 successful seasons on CBS.

I think HBO would definitely be a network for season two.. as the demographics and audience would favor The Black Donnellys. I can see this series thriving.
Jukebox_Queen
It can happen!! Just like JAG! TBD is a GREAT drama and I say 100 times that the story needs to be told! We can do this but we DO need everyone's help!! The petition has over 37,200 signatures which is huge! Arrested Development had 45,000 signatures to save the show and were on tv for 3 seasons! We had 5 primetime episodes and a huge following!

You can visit www.savetheblackdonnellys.net to see what we are doing! If you are sending snail mail letters elsewhere like to FX, etc. Let us know!! We, together, can make an impact!!
