Full Version: New Signature and Post Graphics Policy
NBC > Primetime > The Office > Administration
Officionada
The dimension limits given should be more than adequate for most members, and has been put in place so that members who still rely on a dial-up connection are not forced to turn off some or all images in order to read and/or participate in the NBC Office community. In addition, images that are wider than the limits given below can cause topics not to appear properly in most browser windows.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There will be a grace period, until August 17, before moderators will start enforcing this new policy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Signature Guidelines and Signature Graphics

Maximum dimensions (in pixels): 460 x 200 (width x height)

NOTE: Signature images which do not adhere to these guidelines may be edited by a moderator. In addition, signature images do not need to be HUGE in order to convey a story or emotion. Take a look at 'stapler in jello's current signature for an example:

Post Graphics

Maximum dimensions (in pixels): width 460 pixels

NOTE: Images which do not adhere to these guidelines may be edited by a moderator from [img] tags to [url] tags so that users can still link to the image without the image affecting the appearance of the forum.

Ensuring appropriate Graphic file size and dimensions

You are responsible to figure out if your graphics are the proper size.

To do this, you need to open your graphic in a graphics editing application such as Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks. If you don’t have these applications, there are many other applications, even free ones that come loaded on your computer.

After opening the graphic editor application, you will need to find the menu function that tells you the attributes of the graphic file. For example, in MS Paint, you go to Image | Attributes to get this info.

These programs will let you edit the dimensions (width by height) of an image. Work with it until it meets the graphic rules.

Thanks for everyone's cooperation - it will ensure that everyone will be able to enjoy their participation in this forum.

^^^ ps. if you use photobucket.com to store your online photos, they give the dimensions. Use "avatar" or "email" size. wink.gif biggrin.gif
